I use TB for all my email accounts; GMX, GMAIL, and COMCAST. I am on version 128.0.1 esr 64 bit. Every time I load my email I have to re-type my password. I never had to on the older versions of Thunderbird. Help!

hi there, on left side of Thunderbird = categories are items/words/possebilities = sent and drafts ...twice (one under the same). I installed Thunderbird also on a second computer ...and again the two words are twice present ! absolutly creasy to me and no solution at all to find anywhere. Please advice. For the past two days (Aug 20,2024) I have received NO emails and CANNOT send. I get the message, "because the connection to Outgoing server (SMTP) smtp.gmail.com timed out." I have tried reloading Thunderbird with no results. The email zfhanna@gmail is also on my phone. My Tbird is on an IMac and Windows 10 laptop. Neither works. For Wifi I use a satellite provider.

I´m having some really weird issues opening mail with attachments. Sometimes they open normally and other times the mail body is just an endless stream of random characters and it slows down Thunderbird drastically.

These mails are in my local folder and saved from a Gmail account.

I have many mailing lists. If I try to create a new message, any mailing list name turns red with a yellow triangle. The send button is greyed out, message cannot be sent.

I already tried replacing spaces in the mailing list name with underscores. Did nothing. I rcreated a new mailing list called "Test" (one word, no spaces) with only two names in it. Same thing happens. None of many mailing lists which used to work can be recognized anymore.

Thunderbird version is 115.14.0 (32-bit), running on Windows 7 Professional SP1

I couldn't open links in emails. I tried all the "solutions". None worked. I then went to SETTINGS\GENERAL scroll down to Files & Attachments. Under Actions, click the one next to HTTP, then USE OTHER. It said there were no apps for this. I clicked the left gray bar on the bottom below No applications, searched for Chrome and double clicked it. I did the same for HTTPS. everything works now.

I am suddenly (without having changed anything knowingly) unable to send emails or reply to emails. I get the following message: ELNK003_308 - https://postmaster-earthlink.vadesecure.com/outbound_error_codes/#_308. Please verify that your email address is correct in your account settings and try again. I have checked and the email address is correct. As I said I had not changed anything knowingly. I did go into settings and changed the outgoing to no authentication. After restarting, I still get the same error. I have no idea what to do.

The time window happens overnight and can be for about 70-80 emails.

I am Australian & live in Australia, so the times are obviously quite different.

So I have Thunderbird 128.0esr (64-bit) installed on Ubuntu 24; I have found a strange issue when I try to send emails with attachments. In this scenario, I scan files in from my scanner to a network folder, and then copy that file from the network folder to a final location, where I chose from Thunderbird to "attach"

If Thunderbird has been opened prior to the document being scanned and created in the first network folder, if I try to attach it to a email, it does, however, when I try to send I get a error "I do not have permission to access that file"; Strange. I close out Thunderbird, re-open, and try to send the file again, and BOOM, no issues with file permissions. I have replicated this many times.

Any ideas? I have tried running "thunderbird" in console to see if any debug information shows up, it does not. And yes, "closing the program and reopening it all-things-equal" always fixes the problem.

Have removed all accounts, have removed all passwords. Have removed all Thunderbird information from laptop. Re downloaded Thunderbird (latest version). Select Thunderbird app. Page 'set up existing email account’ appears. enter my name enter email account no password entered settings found by probing given server. ( screen shot 1)

If it is because I have to renew password. I do not know how to do this.

Anyone help please. This has been going on for many many days now.

I have just added another gmail account to Thunderbird. I'm using the portable version 115.12.2 (64-bit) on Windows 10 Instead of just seeing the Local Folders and a few folders I've made myself, I can see the Imap folder I think it is, for the email account just created. However, it's supposed to be Pop3 and everything works from local folders. I've compared the Gmail settings against an existing account and they are identical. I've also compared the smtp settings for the new account with an already established one, and once again all settings are identical. Yet for some reason this account appears as a main folder underneath the Local folder. I'm stumped (yet again) and am sick of wasting so much time to try and fix and getting nowhere. I'd love some help please to suggest what's gone wrong?

This AM opened to 115.12.2 - completely different to what on yesterday. I am asked to configure an account with TB. I use my old email address and password. This works but now about a third of my sub boxes containing saved emails are missing. The ones that show up have no messages in them.

After clicking back and forth on the various options I note a line at the bottom of the page saying that emails are being downloaded to the various existing boxes. Eventually they have mail in them BUT only old mail to about 2019.

The questions are - where are the missing boxes/folders and why only some of the mail in the others?

I know where my profile info is on the hard drive. In 115 where do I read the name of the profile file it is using?

I cannot send emails to certain accounts, the server shows {F3} Mail rejected by policy. blacklisted it is getting worse. I use Thunderbird and Gmail account. any help would be appreciated . Martin

July 2024 - Thunderbird is demanding that I change my Hotmail password, after long trouble -free operation. It will not login. Why? (I have not changed the PW yet, hoping for a solution that will avoid the necessity.) I fear that it may be due to some fault in OAuth. Can anyone please provide any help to overcome this problem? Hello, since about two month I can't read some mails. In the overview the from and subject is ok. In the quick preview or when I open the mail I ony get a content like "------=_NextPart_000_0008_01D603AB.DC067530--" When I open the IMAP Mail on my phone or with another mail client, I can read the mail normaly. I use the Thunderbird 128.0 esr x64. This problem is also present when Thunderbird is started in save mode.
