Hi, I'm using Thunderbird 115.4.1 and Windows 8.1 Pro. Ever since the Supernova update, TB crashes pretty much daily (up to 3x a day). I turned off auto-updates as soon as I found out how to, since everything was so confusing and didn't work the way I was used to. Now I'm afraid to do any more updates since I don't want a whole bunch of other things to get screwed up. I have learned to kind of work around the problem areas, though it's frustrating. But I don't want to spend another 10-15 hours trying to fix new problems. Any suggestions? I can't seem to find any information about people who have had this crashing problem and then had it resolved through an update. Thanks

I have linked Thunderbird to my iCloud mail using Apple's straightforward app-specific password facility. Thunderbird recognises the basic folders (inbox etc...) and I can send / receive mails.

Thunderbird does not recognise the majority of iCloud's Mail Folder hierarchy so most of my mail 'history' going back 20 years is missing. It is still present if I view it on iCloud's web service.

Two random folders (each containing 30+ mails) are available through the Thunderbird client. The remaining 70-80 folders are not.

This is a very simple Thunderbird set up, single e-mail account, no messaging or anything else (no need, don't want).

Hi, our company is using a program called Visma Administration 1000 as economy system. Since we have macbook computers we thus have a Microsoft Remote Desktop downloaded, since the economy system only works through Windows! Anyhow, we then use Thunderbird as a local e-mail which is connected to the economy system, and through which we can send our orders, invoices etc to our email. However, ever since a few weeks back a troubleshooting messege has occured making us unable to send the emails; referring to a problem with the outgoing SMTP server. However, after speaking with an IT Support guy who looked it thorugh he said that everything looked like it should. BUT I am wondering if it might have anything to do with the server/thunderbird being blocked by the program, which I don't know how to check... Does anyone know how to fix it?

The error message is in swedish but translates to: "The message could not be sent. The message could not be sent because the connection to the outgoing server (smtp01.binero.se) failed. The server may be unavailable or is denying connection to the outgoing server (SMTP). Please check that your outgoing server (SMTP) settings are correct and try again."

Several days ago, I stopped receiving email. I have friends telling me that they get an "inbox full" message when they try to send email. I have no problems sending. How do I troubleshoot this?

I'm trying to follow the Mozilla instructions to move my profile to a new PC. I started copying the profile to a new (empty) 128 Gb flashdrive. Partway through, I got an error message that there wasn't enough room to copy my 9 Gb Inbox. I'd be very grateful if you can tell me how to fix this problem. Thanks!

i cant send emails i can receive emails i get this message (1. Login to server smtp.telstra.com with username hammyelectrical@bigpond.com failed) ( 2. Sending of the message failed. Unable to authenticate to Outgoing server (SMTP) smtp.telstra.com. Please check the password and verify the 'Authentication method' in 'Account Settings | Outgoing server (SMTP)'. ) the settings are correct the password is correct is there a secondary password can someone please help kind regards chris

I have accidentally deleted Mozilla thunderbird from the storage folder and now cannot access my emails in or out. How can I resolve this, please? I am desperate, thinking I have lost all my stored emails over 12x years!?

My TB folder has a few GiBis now.

I am looking forward to loose some kilograms and found that there is a folder "mail/Mail" which contains "Local Folders", which make up 80% of the mess here ;-)

It also contains "smart mailboxes" and a lot of folders which seem to relate to "historical" mail providers of mine. All of these folders seem to be unused except local. Seems they were POP3 folders (except local).

Then there is a folder "mail/ImapMail" which contains my currently used accounts - and some "historical".

Questions: 1) Is there some documentation about this folder mystery? 2) How can I store/export the old mail in mail / ImapMap / local in a HUMAN READABLE and tool-independent form? is there some tool that does this? or at least an API I could call from Java etc? 3) Can I simply manually backup the old folders and remove them? What indexes have to be re-built and how?

I need to update an address. All I can find is New Address Book Contact under the Find menu. I am on an M1 Mac Mini running Sonoma 14.5.

One used to be able to access the Address Book under Tools, but no more.

I am unable to open my thunderbird emails. It keeps giving me a message "Thunderbird had a problem and crashed" I have sent a message on Monday also and have had no response. This matter is urgent as i cannot access my emails

Hi - After the June 25 update, my T-Bird mail program is not connecting my Roadrunner email accounts. T-Bird does still connect to GMail. Verified the server setting with TWC. Please let me know what other troubleshooting steps to take. Thank you - Gina

I have three POP addresses configured but TB will only send through the default account. If I select the "From" address to be different than the default account, I get the following error. Once I change the default account to the one I am sending from, the email sends fine.

Error: Sending of the message failed. An error occurred while sending mail. Hello! I'm hoping someone can help me figure out why, when I try to copy email folders from Local to Gmail using Thunderbird, only the first 1-2 subfolders are copying over. (I tried to upload a screen shot to illustrate, but keep getting an error message.)

My end goal is to have all email files residing in Gmail, NOT Local, so they're automatically saved and accessible via Gmail if ever needed (though I use & love Thunderbird for everyday viewing/responding/organizing!) I have a separate biz email that was set up this way at the start -- but for some reason my personal email files all ended up in Local and I can't figure out how to get everything 100% duplicated in Gmail so I can confidently delete the Local folders. Praying I won't have to do this manually for every subfolder!!

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!
