I can receive outlook e-mail but I cannot send from Thunderbird. I am asked for a password for the specific Microsoft server. I enter my Microsoft account password but this does not work. Security setting is STARTTLS withNormal Password authentification. My other Thunderbird non-MS e-mails are problem free.

Once in a while, when I download email, Tbird fails accessing outlook.com. The message is in the attached image. If I redownload, it works. Any Ideas? P.S. this has happened with several versions of Tbird... Thanks.

On my home computer, all my sent emails go automatically to the Inbox, not into the Sent folder. Now using Thunderbird on a laptop and I can't remember how I set that up. Grateful for help.

Because it was referred to, I discovered having received an email The sender had taken the easy way - for him - by replying to a message from 2024, of which I am one of the recipients. I did not see a notification, nor did it show in the received mail folder, which is orderd by date, newest on top. Ultimately I found it attached to the original mail from 2024. Is there a way to get a notification, handle such messages as separate mail and show them at their appropiate place in the received mail folder?

I have been using Tbird & Yahoo successfully for years. The Yahoo made the change to require OAuth2. After that change I did get new mail. After that I couldn't receive new messages. I decide this could be fixed by removing my Yahoo account from Tbird and setting it up again.

1. 1 starting from Account Setup, I enter my name, email address and password.
2. 2 Before clicking Continue I disable blocking on my pi-hole in case that could be an issue.
3. 3 A pop-up with a Yahoo ad appears.
4. 4 I click next and enter my password and click next again.
5. 5 I check a box to agree to some terms and Agree
6. 6 Tbird gives me a green box saying, "Configuration found in Mozilla ISP database.
7. 7 I ensure IMAP is selected and click Done.
8. 8 I get another pop-up from Yahoo
9. 9 I check a box to agree to some terms and Agree
10. 10 That green box turns yellow and now says, "Unable to log in at server, Probably wrong configuration, username or password."
11. 11 I can login to the Yahoo webmail page, and there I see a new message that start with, "Your Yahoo account XXXX was used to sign in to a new third part application on thunderbird."
12. 12 Accept cookies from sites is checked
13. 13 I am not using a VPN and my network is the same as when Yahoo and Tbird were playing nicely.
14. 14 Outgoing Server settings for Yahoo Mail list OAuth2 for Authentication method.

What else can I check to setup Yahoo with Tbird? Let me know if there are logs I can provide to help.

I have used Thunderbird as my mail client for many years on both my Windows workstation and my Windows laptop. My ISP is Spectrum. All of a sudden, today, Thunderbird has stopped sending outgoing emails from my workstation. I get a message telling me that Thunderbird can't connect with the server. Outgoing email seems to work fine on the laptop, as well as on Spectrum's own Webmail interface. I think I'm getting all my incoming messages, although it's hard to know that for sure. Both machines are running Windows 11. I haven't changed any configurations. What can I do to get Thunderbird to function correctly on my workstation? Thank you.

I'm a longtime Thunderbird user. Today, it stopped working to send messages. (I can still receive messages OK.) When I try to send, it does the spell-check, but then doesn't do anything. The message remains open but unsent. In case it's helpful, my account info says IMAP mail server, SSL/TLS connection security, OAuth2 authentication,

Whenever I attempt to download waiting emails I frequently get the message: "The STAT command did not succeed. Error getting message number and sizes. Mail server mailhost.zen.co.uk responded: Mailbox unavailable." This is a relatively recent occurrance - what can I do to resolve it?

Yahoo email simply stopped working on APril 5 mid- night. last message is 04/ at 1130pm. in my setting in the yahoo account it shows thunderbird as having access permissions. Thunderbird simply can't log into yahoo anymore or download the messages.

I have deleted permissions in yahoo, and Thunderbird's saved passwords . Created an app password in yahoo, logged in with that one-time password using thunderbird and it says it didn't recognize, then I typed my real yahoo account password thunderbird crashed. Thunderbird simply can't connect to yahoo mail anymore.

After zeroing out save passwords and removing third party from yahoo account. I signed in to yahoo from Thunderbird. Yahoo mail now shows Thunderbird has access.

YES I HAVE all the settings for POP and smtp correct. Nothing in yahoo changed for those settings since April 4th.

I need this account working again. Please tell me step by step directions on how to remedy this. Emails are backed up so if have to remove account and start over fine. but I want exact steps. I have been going around in circles. Thunderbird simply isn't accessing or connecting properly with yahoo mail through oath2.

I use the filters in Thunderbird a lot, so I am familiar with the setup. I need to automatically forward a message to my wife if it comes in from a specific email address. I cannot see a way to do this. Is it possible?

When I open Thunderbird email on my computer, it loads in my emails. These come from my Hostgator email server. The date and time of the emails show as the current date and time, not the actual date and time that the emails were received on the Hostgator server. For example, if an email was actually received on Hostgator 3 days ago at 5 pm. When I open Thunderbird at 9 am today, the date and time received will show today at 9 am. And nothing that I can see on the email that I have on my computer shows the actual receipt date. I have tried some things on my own, and I have chatted with AI and made some changes to what's showing on the headers. But nothing has worked to resolve the issue.

On one of my accounts I have an enabled filter for incoming messages consisting of a Tag + Copy + Delete (see screenshot) When a new message arrives, the filter is executed TWICE (see screenshot of the log) , the copied message arrives TWICE at the destination (once tagged, once NOT tagged). In the deleted folder of the source there is only one message.

What might be gong on ? Why is the filter executed twice ?

PS : I also tried Tag + Move instead of Tag + Copy + Delete

I have two computers, both Lenovo. One is an older model running Ubuntu linux and the other is a newer one running Windows 11 and Ubuntu WSL. The plan is to move from the older to the newer. The older model has Thunderbird 140.10.1 esr (64Bit) and I have no problem with it. The newer one came with Windows 11 and Thunderbird 150.0.1 (64Bit) installed. I want to set up the newer computer with the same complement of email accounts as the older. This complement of accounts includes a gmail account, a yahoo account and an account that existed on comcast.net before being moved to yahoo. The latter still retains its comcast.net identity, but is served by yahoo. To support this account, it was necessary to provide Thunderbird 140 with the comcast.net email address, but configure it with yahoo entities underneath. However, this same process does not appear to be supported by Thunderbird 150. It seems to insist on using comcast.net entities, which do not exist anymore. My question is, am I correct in this conclusion, or is there a way, which I have not discovered, to configure the account to work on Thunderbird 150? If so, what might it be? One final note, I am not likely to be unique in the comcast.net issue. I suspect there may be thousands of us.

Hi... so, when I realized that Thunderbird was not able to access Outlook accounts successfully about two years ago, I was offered the opportunity to try Owl as an add-in, which did a splendid job at the time for accessing my Outlook email and saving it/using it within Thunderbird.

But now it's my understanding that Thunderbird supports Outlook email natively, and I've dumped Owl (including turning it off as an add-on within the software), and I cannot receive emails. I tried resetting the password using the method of "deleting the password from the passwords list so that Thunderbird asks for it the next time", but it continues to check for the email at that address, tells me there isn't anything to download, and won't import the mail. I have to be missing something simple, but I cannot put my finger on it.

I've tried a couple of Reddit methods, also no help. Any ideas?

In Thunderbird all of a sudden my sent e-mails are going in to the sent box of ANOTHER e-mail address I have on Thunderbird. I looked at some similar posts and think my settings are correct but obviously not. Please help! Thanks, Adam
