Occasionally Thunderbird email service installed on my desktop is very slow opening an email and loading emails. I have multiple email addresses and it does not happen with all of them. It happens with the two (out of 10) addresses that receive the most emails. What can I do. I thought it might be my anti-virus program but since it only happens on two of the 10 emails that receive messages on my Thunderbird I do not believe that it can be he anti-virus or that would effect all the emails I receive and not just some.

For the last few days, Thunderbird stops moving messages to the trash or junk. Also when I send a message, it can't move the message to the Sent box.

If I quit and reopen Thunderbird, it will work again for a while.

I tried "Repair Folder" on the Inbox, Trash, and Junk folders.

Using Thunderbird 24.3.0 on Mac OS X 10.7.5.

I tried to use Windows easy transfer to move my data between two computers (both running Windows 7), using a Transcend external hard disk. Now it seems to have disappeared from the Transcend during the process, and the Thunderbird on the old computer won't work any more (the message is that the program is running but not responding).

Is there any way of retrieving my old address book, at least??

Some unknown series of keystrokes (feline butt-typing) has caused all of the messages in a thread to be lumped under one of the messages, and they're all opened (in separate tabs) when any of them is opened. How do turn this off? TB 24.3.0; OS X 10.8.5

HI :) I have 5 email adrresses that are in the left pane (each can open up to it's inbox, sent etc) The order they are displayed in makes it hard for me to keep track of them, I'd like to rearrange the view without breaking any of them... Only thing I can think of is remove the accounts and put them back on in the order I want... I don't want to lose what is in them... Suggestions? Thanks SO much :D Thunderbird 3.1.20

When I reply to an email, I cannot change the ink color... Sometimes I like to have some of the words a different color, and that feature does not work on replies... only on new emails..

I am receiving 100's of spam emails. They are all advertising different types of products but they all say they are from AT&T High Speed Internet. I have used the junk filter on them but it does not pick them up as junk. I have to do it manually each time. I have contacted my UVerse provider and they cannot assist because it is getting through Yahoo to Thunderbird. They say that it is a problem that I will have to have assistance from Thunderbird to resolve so that I can have this listed as junk and will not have to do this manually. I am at my wit's end. Please, please help me!

I've had this issue of Thunderbird hanging (hourglass or hourglass/ finger) when trying to read/ open or especially deleting an email. Often I have to wait up to 30 seconds to delete because after I press "delete" it gets hung up with the hourglass. I don't have many addons- just the usual updaters, Java, Silverlight, Shockwave, etc. I do use Adblocker Plus and also use BitDefender for virus. I have read that BitDefender can cause some issues so it's actually disabled for the mail.

I have no tried to operate in SafeMode... I wouldn't know what to do with that info anyway and deleting any of these basic addons would seem to be counterproductive to general use, wouldn't it?

We only use this for general email use. Currently there are ~10 emails in the inbox and probably as much in each of 3 subfolders.

I have received an email from a friend who has a written signature, phone numbers, email details, and a couple of icons including (yuck!) a Collingwood logo. How can I do similarly but with a Saints logo?

When I click a mailto link on the web it opens a new message in thunderbird, which is fine. I want it to use a particular account as the default. I have two email address that I manage through thunderbird.

I have 3 printers connected to my PC running Windows 8. When trying to print an email from my inbox, the print font has suddenly become so small that I can barely read the message. All printers react the same way. Not aware that I've made any adjustments, unless inadvertent. This just started out of the clear blue....weird.

"Return-path" through "Authentication-results" (6 total extra headings) appears after "Subject, From, Date, To" lines in all forwarded mail. and reply mailed messages How do I stop that from happening?

Every month, I find that all the earlier e-mails have been deleted.

They are not in Archives, or Trash, either.

So I am losing quite a lot of messages which I want to keep.

What controls exist so that I can tell Thunderbird when I want to delete something, and not have it happen whether I want a deletion or not? And WHY is this basic information so impossible to find on any of the pages?
