The method I formally used (Ctrl+) to increase text font size is no long working nor is Ctrl with mouse scrolling, nor is any other options I've found in settings. The font size on header and side bars is increasing but not the text of emails.

How do I change the ::selection background css for text that appears in the mailnews reader and editor views? I am happy to use userChrome.css or userContent.css. Currently the selected background is too dark against my chosen dark background color. I simply need to lighten it a bit. I've been through the about:config pages looking at "color" and there isn't a setting I can find. So it appears I will need to use CSS in userChrome.css to accomplish this. I need to know what the magic incantation is to do this. I get it will involve the ::selection pseudo-element, but which tag to apply it to, any special namespace? All?

Preferably, this solution should continue to work when openSUSE updates to 136/7, etc..

I updated Thunderbird yesterday and today it is talking to me. Why, it is annoying as hell to have it repeat everything I do over and over. How do I shut it off.

A new user, I am elderly and find the script too small in the inbox message list. it is just fine in message content. Can anyone kindly tell me if there is an option to increase the type size, cant seem to find anything in settings, mind you there are so many to get through? My Outlook which I don't care for generally, shows an "easy read". Thank you David

We have poor eyesight, so in vertical display mode, we could really benefit from having grid lines (at least horizontally) to visually distinguish each message. We have read various solutions on the Internet, but none seems to work at least not in dark theme mode, which is the default for a great many people with vision impairments (or just plain tired eyes). Perhaps some solutions that once worked have been uprooted, so to speak, during the course of Thunderbird updates.

We are used to having grid lines in Outlook (desktop). We are currently exploring switching to Thunderbird, but it needs to support our vision needs. For us, this capability is fundamental, not optional.

We are comfortable making config entries, creating and working in userChrome.css, and the like. We would be grateful for any guidance in this regard.

Read Aloud is not producing sound in Thunderbird 128.7.1esr (64-bit), Windows 11 Pro. The app does highlight the text it is reading and progresses through the email, but there is no sound. I have checked various voices and tried to sound test the Piper voices. No luck. Windows Narrator (not ideal) will read the emails. I have checked every sound setting I can think of several times. I contacted Read Aloud support and they were unable to resolve my issue; they did confirm it worked in their Thunderbird app.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

I had to turn off Norton VPN to use Thunderbird as my email client for the Comcast email service. Is there any strategy to allow Thunderbird to work through a VPN? I use the POP protocol and keep all saved messages (hundreds) on my PC, not on the email server.

I'm trying to get Thunderbird working on Windows.

I can't read thin faint Windows-style font rendering. I can set * {font-weight: bolder !important;} in userChrome.css, but since Thunderbird relies on boldness to distinguish unread and read messages, I'd need to find another way to distinguish these.

I also use MacType, but it doesn't seem to affect Thunderbird or Firefox.

As far as I can see, either 1. if the css can distinguish unread and read messages, maybe I could set extrabold and semibold, or I could set different colors. Or 2. I could set a bolder font with good-enough script support.

I am running Thunderbird (release 140) with the Dark Theme selected. A few messages are received that are unreadable because of the text color chosen by the sender. I am wondering if there is a method to adjust a parameter for an unreadable message to make it readable. I would prefer not to have to change the Theme to Light for just a few messages!

I could have copied each one of two different emails from Hotels to Volos as Nefeli & Park with their savings on Thunderbird because I have restarted at the first before two hours as well as I wrote thoroughly a plenty of my fixed changes under any circumstances but I was tired of many efforts yesterday nightly & tonight...

The qr code displayed in the account transfer email from thunderbird is bigger than my pc screen. Snapping a picture with phone camera not possible. I employ visual accessibilities on pc as I am elderly and have tried to get emails to appear smaller. Cannot get entire qr image on screen.

I have used TB a long time. It is not now working. I never had a Password? I do have a Mozilla PW (not given here) donated several years ago. This is the story. I got a new phone. Didn't remember my Google PW. The sales man decided to redo my PW. It screwed up Google. Now I get the screen attached. The screen does not work and Thunderbird does not RUN. I get calendar and can write but not send or receive??? Second screeen See attachment. All my mail is via GMail. Perhaps I need to remove TB and reinstall???? Please help this TEXAN in Humble, TX tele <redacted> HELP

To install a Windows 10 update (I'm on extended support) I told it to update & shutdown. I fired it up this morning and Thunderbird is asking for credentials. It usually just runs & downloads emails. I enter my password, then a code from authenticator app. It shows the page below in an embedded browser window that has a checkbox and an "Agree" button. I check the box but the Agree button is still disabled. Dead end. I cannot connect & I'm stuck.

Hello, it is impossible sending e-mails from our e-mail accounts and the message that appears is "Two many sending failures". No e-mails have been sent back. Is it possible to remove this block?
