I use thunderbird with 2 accounts,(gmail and hotmail). Since a week ago hotmail folder structure does not sync from the server. I've tried uninstalling thunderbird and clearing the profiles folder and also associating the folders to thunderbird. As soon as I reboot thunderbird I see all folders momentarily but after a few seconds they disappear again.

I've checked and the account is set up as IMAP rather than POP3.

Any thing else I may try to solve the problem?

I am trying to create new folders (or sub-folders) under "Inbox" but they are not being shown. When I try to create them again I get a message the the folder already exists. The Folder View is set to "All". I have created folders before without any problems. The Thunderbird version is 24.3.0 for Mac. Any suggestions?

Often, though not always, when I open THUNDERBIRD I'm not able to delete or move messages. I need to close the program and reopen. Similarly, when sending emails, sometimes things works smoothly and sometimes they hang up on saving to the SENT box. Apparently they DO get sent but I can't keep a copy. If I close and reopen, then it works as it should.

I'm running Windows 8.1, AVAST internet security, and Thunderbird 24.3.

I tried to use Windows easy transfer to move my data between two computers (both running Windows 7), using a Transcend external hard disk. Now it seems to have disappeared from the Transcend during the process, and the Thunderbird on the old computer won't work any more (the message is that the program is running but not responding).

Is there any way of retrieving my old address book, at least??

Some unknown series of keystrokes (feline butt-typing) has caused all of the messages in a thread to be lumped under one of the messages, and they're all opened (in separate tabs) when any of them is opened. How do turn this off? TB 24.3.0; OS X 10.8.5

Suddenly, when trying to reply to email on Thunderbird, The reply button creates another window of the original message, not a reply that I can edit and send. It's maddening. Happened mid-day yesterday (8/31/16). Uninstalled and reinstalled, restarted, no joy.

I understand about offline mode but is there a way to have Thunderbird visually let you know you are in offline mode without waiting until you try sending an e-mail or other task that requires it to tell you it is (and has been) in offline mode for awhile?

Since the latest Tbird update, when entering a 'To:' address, as soon as I hit tab or enter, the 'To:' line scrolls up and it looks like I have not selected an address. But I actually have, its just that I cannot see the address because it has scrolled up out of view.

Using Win8 64bit in Win7 mode on Sony VAIO.

I get a pop up message from KAspersky saying Cannot grantee authenticity of the domain to which encrypted connection is established. Aplication: Microsoft widows operating system UR: pop.frisinger.net Reason: Invalid name of certificate. Ether the name is not on the allowed list or was explicitly excluded. My email address is a pop3 account with fatcow as the hosting company.

I have a folder called pop.frisigner.net here: C:\Users\SOP\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\a5mmku6w.default\Mail\pop.frisinger.net There are also 2 shortcuts to the folder elsewhere in my system. I do not get this error on my iphone.

HI :) I have 5 email adrresses that are in the left pane (each can open up to it's inbox, sent etc) The order they are displayed in makes it hard for me to keep track of them, I'd like to rearrange the view without breaking any of them... Only thing I can think of is remove the accounts and put them back on in the order I want... I don't want to lose what is in them... Suggestions? Thanks SO much :D Thunderbird 3.1.20

Started today. In the inbox, as the cursor is moved through the list of new mail, a reply is automatically sent for each message. I re-started Thunderbird. I re-started the Mac ...

Thunderbird Path Why moving Thunderbird into a new computer might fail.

This is my computer's folder path to the Thunderbird email files:

   C:\Users\Stan\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\iq9rzk1o.default\Mail\pop.att.yahoo.com\Inbox

In that Thunderbird email folder:

Are these folders:
  Crash Reports          A long list of very tiny "Install Time" text files.
  Profiles                    Folders and files holding all the Thunderbird user's email and preferences.                                       
And these files: 
  Registry.dat             A very small file with perhaps some entries for installation in the Registry.
  Profiles.ini                A very small text file containing only this:
                    [General]
                    StartWithLastProfile=1
                    [Profile0]
                    Name=default
                    IsRelative=1
                    Path=Profiles/iq9rzk1o.default     <--- Note this.

If that Path entry is not exactly the same as the path following the Thunderbird folder, then Thunderbird does not start.

         Error message:  "Your Thunderbird profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible."

So, when copying/moving Thunderbird from the old computer into the new computer, that Profiles.ini file must be included.

        To do that copy/move the entire Thunderbird folder. NOT just the Profiles folder, as that Help article describes.

Thus this Help article needs correcting: Moving a Profile [ Because it fails. ]

I'm trying to share one of my contacts from my address book but see no way to attach contact from address book. Wondering if there is a add-on or something I need to configure to do this?

How do I set the delete period for junk and spam mail in Thunderbird? I want to keep emails I have decided are junk for only a few days. Just long enough for me to decide that they ae junk.

Outlook, Groupwise and Pegasus(freeware) allows editing of received e-mails. Thunderbird had plug-in that is not working with curent version. WHY NOT make it standard feature of Thunderbird??? Please do it. If others can do it, why cannot Thunderbird not do it?
