Hello, Thunderbird crashed and asked me to send a crash report. My question is not about the crash or bug itself, I rather care about my data. I accidentally clicked on Submit and later read that it contains "Sensitive Data" as in a raw dump of the state of my E-Mail client. As far as I've read people can have access to this over the web (via crash-stats.mozilla.org/ I pressume)

Question: Can I have my crash-report removed/withdrawn? I don't want to have the possibility of personal data, passwords, etc. on the internet.

I turned in my laptop for a new one and I did not double check what my password in Thunderbird was so now I cannot download thunderbird to my new laptop I can get email on my phone is there a way to click something to send a reset link to my email so they know its me wanting to reset password as the instructions I found just don't seem to work I guess I shall continue reading and trying at some point when Im not so frustrated that I have not succeeded Thank You All for trying as a last thought Thunderbird should have a link to click forgot password like others do with security questions or something to verify us or an email to us as we all have our phones I just wanted this on my laptop again

Lost Thunderbird password. I wish to reset the pwd and I can generate a new strong password. I can find no specific support material directing me explicitly to do this. I would appreciate explicit instructions for this purpose.

A few years ago, I started to need to enter a password (perhaps called a "universal password") whenever I wanted to access Thunderbird at a time when nothing was open in Thunderbird. I do not know why or how this started to happen (and it seemed not to be necessary) but I just learned to live with this slight inconvenience. But now I have a major inconvenience: I can send e-mails from Thunderbird but no incoming e-mails appear in Thunderbird. I have two questions -- 1: How do I get rid of having to enter this password? and 2: Could this have something to do with my not being able to receive e-mails?

I can no longer use mozilla thunderbird because Of all the password requirements. I don't know what all these passwords are. Can't I just delete all password requirements?

Thunderbird (up to date version, release channel) is configured to log in to my e-mail server, hosted remotely, and download my mail. Password manager no longer 'remembers' my password and I have to manually enter it from the list of saved passwords even if I select to have password manager remember the password.

Bug?

I needed to change my gmail password. I went to Saved Passwords and changed the password on the account--I id'd the account by old password. However, I'm still getting the error message: The STAT command did not succeed. Error getting message number and sizes. Mail server pop.gmail.com responded: [AUTH] Invalid credentials.

The account was not an oauth account which has a password I don't recognize. Also, the associate smtp record has a different password.

How do I change the password? Do I need to change the smtp password also?

When I click the 'Junk' button, everything works as expected, the email gets moved to the 'Junk' folder, but the 'Junk' button simply switches to 'Non Junk'. Then, when I click it again on another junk email, that email gets moved to the Junk folder as expected, but the 'Not Junk' button gets changed back to 'Junk'. So, the 'Junk' and 'Not Junk' buttons simply swap out on each click.

How can I get into Thunderbird, when it will not recognise any of the primary passwords that I thought I might have used. I need to see what my primary password is, so that I can change it, and then get back into Thunderbird. I have not been able to access my e mails and have lost hours in trying. I am not a happy bunny...Grrrrr.

When I set up an account (Outlook or Gmail) to use OAuth, sending emails fails. When I click 'send,' a large window flashes up, but then nothing happens until I receive a server time-out error.

When using OAuth for retrieving emails, no errors occur.

If I switch to an app password, then it works fine.

For a very long time now, I cannot sign into my mail account and get my email. I have tried everything I can think of and nothing works. I have been a long term user/donator. Over the last few days my GoDaddy account which is linked to office 365 in some way has stopped working. I recieved this email not long before the address became inactive.

There are email accounts in your organization using Basic Authentication, which Microsoft will no longer support after 06/19/2023. You'll still be able to access your email through your browser, but not from an email app, such as Outlook or Apple Mail — don't worry, none of your emails will be lost.

In order to continue using your email apps, you need to update your settings from POP/IMAP to Exchange for each device you use to check your email. This also applies to other users who are set up within your account using POP/IMAP settings.

It appears I need to change the settings to "exchange"? Could you please advise me how to do this?

Network Solutions, like many hosting platforms, is requiring TLS 1.2. But when I change the Outgoing Server SMTP port from 465 to 587 for my NetSol account, Thunderbird fails to deliver a test email. Please advise.

I use Thunderbird to download my emails from a Spectrum webmail account. Due to a suspected hack, I wanted to change the login password for my webmail account. Having done that, I now need to update my Thunderbird information so that it can log into my Spectrum webmail. I can't find the procedure that lets me do that.

Thunderbird detected a potential security threat and did not continue to accounts.google.com because this web site requires a secure connection."

I tried changing the configs but nothing works. Could you please assist on this?
