I exported my profile to an external drive, then reset my Windows 11 PC. The resulting file is a zip file. When I import, the import starts, then stalls and gives an error. The error log is incomprehensible to me. How can I not lose my local folders and messages? I tried unzipping and importing that folder, but another error. I need help! Ideas? Thanks.

I am now getting a spinning wheel with annoying frequency while using/trying to use Thunderbird on my MacBook Air 2017 running Monterey. Everything was fine for the first 6-9 months, but over recent months the spinning wheel has appeared more and more frequently while I'm trying to read mail, answer mail, scroll through messages, etc., etc. Now it comes up every few minutes and delays me doing anything for about 15-30 seconds at a time. It's really frustrating. I recently ran Onyx, which was designed to clear cache, etc and make everything run smoothly. But the only program it required me to quit before it started was Thunderbird. Is there some cache or something I need to clear on a (semi-) regular basis to keep it working at a reasonable speed without this godforsaken spinning wheel interrupting everything? Aloha, I have been using Thunderbird since decades. Since a few weeks (or even months) by now, it is hanging all the time. Meanwhile it is totally impossible to use it properly. Whenever I klick on something it hangs itself up and I have to wait at least a minute until I can click something else and then it hangs again.

I already tried reinstalling, but that didnt change anything. Of course I also rebooted the computer.

Why is that so and what can be done?

I exported Outlook Contacts to a .csv file and imported giberish to the Thunderbird Personal Address book. Can the giberish be block deleted? How should the Outlook Contacts be transferred to Thunderbird? Secondly, I exported Outlook Contacts to gmail and have used them on the web based gmail app to send messages. Don't remeber how the gmail contacts got to the Thunderbird Address book, but they don't work. The first message I sent from Thunderbird from my wife's gmail address to my hotmail address produced the following error:

Both imported address books are unuseable. Please help.

Scrolling vertically with mouse-wheel in Thunderbird is uneven and unstable, while scrolling in Firefox* is perfect. (*or any other program) What could be wrong?

сегодня столкнулся с проблемой, что не могу создать учетную запись, используя домены от mail.ru. на скриншоте показал результат моих действий: я как обычно ввел почту, поставил пароль, заранее в самой mail почте разрешил использование imap, а когда нажал готово и разрешил доступ в самом thundebird, то окошко с входом просто закрывается и пишет "не могу войти на сервер", хотя я даже не ввел пароль. это происходит со всеми доменами типо inbox и т.д, с gmail все работает нормально. помогите пожалуйста

How do I save my open tabs while compacting my inbox? They all disappear after compacting. I am trying to move my open tabs over to a different folder to preserve them, but I can't figure out how to do it.

When I choose an open tab from my Inbox to move it to a different folder, the folder choices on the left side of the interface go away. I there a way to move between folders? Drag /drop?

After updating to Thunderbird version 140.0esr, I am unable to create a new email. Clicking “Write” or “New Mail” does nothing – no compose window opens. However: • Receiving and replying to emails works normally • Safe Mode does not resolve the issue • Disabling all add-ons has no effect • Reinstalling Thunderbird did not help • I confirmed I am using version 140.0esr

I have an e-mail in my TB in-box. The mail contains a hyperlink to Facebook. When I click on the hyperlink, I get the message copied above in the Subject of this problem. In almost all cases, if I re-click on the icon in the e-mail, the re-click takes me to the desired URL in Firefox. My Thunderbird is 128.11.1esr (64-bit). Why is the first click producing the error message? Would there be anything in the TB Error Console?

message filters only work sometimes. when i click on run now nothing happens. sometimes this works, sometimes i have to walk away and come back, but right now nothing works. i compacted folders, updated firefox, waited, and waited, nothing.

This has happened before and was only solved by deleting every possible thunderbird element from my laptop, (including my calendar, which later took many hours to re - update). An email from xfinity that includes a link to my xfinity account attaches itself to my tbird program in such a way that no new emails can be received. I have cleaned the cache, opened task manager and closed every tbird open link, I have removed all xfinity emails on the original email server (also xfinity). Nothing removes the problem message. Is there a way to remove it without removing the whole tbird program (and then reinstalling)? It was such a pain to do this last time around. When you do a normal clean out it doesn't actually remove every element. Going in to find every little thing causes me a lot of effort and stress. This one faulty message is making me give up on tbird altogether. Thanks for your help! Annie

Using Nord VPN: All Gmail accounts are set up for imap on Thunderbird:

1) With VPN on, I cannot send/receive emails from/to my Gmail accounts using Thunderbird. 2) With VPN off, I can send/receive emails from/to my Gmail accounts 3) With VPN on or off and logged directly on mail.google.com, I am able to send/receive emails

And, yes, I have tried different port numbers and all server info is correct for imap on Thunderbird as indicated by #2 above. This change happened overnight and Thunderbird always worked faultlessly with Nord VPN for years. I don't think we can blame Nord VPN for this, given #3 above.

Hello, when I'm on a web site and choose to contact them, I click on their email. Instead of opening Thunderbird opening I get the annoying pop up that wants me to sign in and open the new Outlook. I do not use Outlook. I do not want to use Outlook. What do I need to do to simply have my Thunderbird open and completely ignore the Outlook? Thank you,

I've been using Thunderbird on my Win10 PC for many many years, (and donated to Mozilla) and all has been fine till mid December. Emails still work fine on my Android phone and tablet using the Gmail app for my main Gmail email address and K9 app for an old email address, but on my PC using Thunderbird they both suddenly stopped around mid December. I can't give an exact date as I'm now disabled so only use my PC every fortnight or so just to keep everything up to date.

Thunderbird is using the server settings recommended by Melbpc group and they haven't changed for years. I also use Nord VPN which recently underwent what seemed a major upgrade so I turned that off - no difference.

I then tried manually instigating a download of my primary Gmail email on the pc using Thunderbird and watched as it said "connecting to  imap.gmail.com", then "connected to imap.gmail.com" but then nothing happened.

Everything is totally up to date - Win 10, Thunderbird etc..

Can anybody suggest what the cause might be please?

1.) Since you DON'T have a user guide or manual, can you tell me how to print out a single calendar event from Thunderbird application? 2.) Can't find a Thunderbird User guide or manual, you've been leaning on this broken crutch (FLOSS) for too many years about not having one, and you must have staggered the minds of your user's for years. Need help with Thunderbird. No matter what I tried always comes back to the same problem.

Problem: Keep getting message non responding. Very buggy, difficult deleting emails (will delete after a prolong period of time > 5 sec). When typing a message there will be no characters then after a short period of time the charterer typed shows up. Sometime without and reason while using Thunderbird it close by itself.

What I have down to solve the problem: 1. Start in safe mode Thunderbird operates as expected with any issues. 2. Win 10 environment, closed all apps and made sure there was no extensions running. Made sure the only app open on the task manger was Thunderbird. NO SOLUTION FOUND 3. Download and install latest version of Thunderbird. NO SOLUTION FOUND 4. Created a new profile file. NO SOLUTION FOUND
