Impossible to set up Thunderbird auto or manual settings with Century Link on POP; the same from the latter that were not even close to getting this set up.
There is only one door to go through here for this setup with an ADDITIONAL manual correction to the SMTP port:
1. Choose POP3 and check that Incoming is: pop.centurylink.net and Outgoing is: smtp.centurylink.net 2. Here is where it goes off the charts: ALL settings to the right of the above set to Autodetect / Auto in Manual configuration, then click Re-test / Done. 3. The ports that you will see will be 110 and 25 with SSL of STARTLS in each respectively 4. Click Done; HOWEVER, you now have to go into Account Settings after it accepts your ISP mail server [Incoming only] and Edit the SMTP port manually to 25 or it will fail in that area.

I keep getting the message to compact files. I have read the FAQ's on this, but it does not tell me what it does to my emails when it is compacted. I still want access to them all. I have deleted as much as I can, emptied the deleted folder. I have put some folders I no longer use into the Archive folder, but occasionally got back to access them.
Any suggestions or help on what happens to them and how to access them? Appreciate any help with this

I tried to sign in to Mozilla Support to ask a question about Thunderbird that I could find no answer to elsewhere. I was denied. I verified my user name and password from the list I carefully keep on a flash drive and tried again. No go. Then I asked for password reset help, not knowing what else to do.
The e-mail came, but rather than containing password reset instructions, it thanked me for "joining Mozilla Support!" and said that "to complete your registration, you need to verify your e-mail address." Bear in mind that I was not trying to complete any registration but only to log in to an existing account. Nevertheless, I clicked the link and was taken to a verification page. That did not work.
At last, in need of getting on with it without further delay, I simply registered for a new account using a different user name. Fortunately, the system seemed not to be concerned that it used the same e-mail address as before.
So, the specific questions are: (1) Why did this happen, and (2) what does one do to prevent such a thing from occurring again? If it is a matter of signing in at some interval so that the system does not interpret lack of using Support as evidence that the account holder has been kidnapped and carried off by the Klingons, I would appreciate knowing this and what the maximum interval is before doom strikes.
Thank you.

Firefox is my browser and should be able to syn my different websites (Google, Microsoft, etc.) on my laptop computer...just like Firefox has done in the past. As you may know by opening my account. I am able to see all my Google emails on my cell phone, but not on my laptop computer. Why?
Also, as Firefox knows, I have a new Google email address: ...and a new password: (...Firefox uses it for my cell phone and I get all my Google emails on it. My question is: Why don't I?
In fact, when I click on my Google email account on my laptop computer, I get this message from Firefox down in the right hand corner, that you are not able to connect to my Google emails on my laptop computer...but I can on my cell phone. WHAT'S UP DOC?!?
I am at my wits end trying to figure this dichotomy out? I am seriously thinking about changing my Firefox browser to a different browser after all my years with Mozilla. HELP! Your faithful client. Dr. Richard C. Muzik

The addresses that I originally set up in the group are saved in the group since by entering the group name in the address field all the addresses are entered into the mail. Problem is that I cannot find the group for editing purposes. I thought the way was to go to contacts on the left and find the group there....no such group listed. Thanks, Ken
Why can't you recode your email and web pages in text colors that are legible? There's no reason for the reader-hostile faint grey on white background design!

maximum readability is achieved by maximum contrast between font color and the background ... your site and email message designers have implemented a faint grey text color that is inexcusably hard to read, especially for Senior eyes! it costs you NOTHING to code a darker text color (preferably HTML #000000) for this very valuable content -- please advise, and thanks

Every email send asks the question HTML or text? I have my text domains and HTML domains set up, but they are ignored. My email contacts are set up with the prefers HTML or prefers text.
I have the ASK preferences selected, but that is supposed to be for domains not already set up.
Some TB revisions ago, this all worked. I don't know just when it quit, but it's been broke for several previous reservations.
I looked at the domain lists with the config editor and they seem to be in order. How does this send options stuff work and where is it located so I can debug it myself? Heboland.
