According to the help document, "Allow me to view "hidden" attachments" [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/.../configuration-options-attachments] "There is a special view mode for messages which allows you to see all of a message's attachments, even "hidden" ones, in its attachments list. Because this view mode is not needed by most users and could be confusing to some, it is disabled by default. To enable it, install the "Show All Body Parts" add-on."

Unfortunately, the add on "Show All Body Parts" is no longer supported in 91.3.2.

Our non-profit uses Vertical Response Vertical Response for connecting with supporters. When a supporter replies to an email sent via Vertical Response, the return email is attached to a generic form sent to us by VR. I need to view all hidden attachments in order to reply to an email from our supporters. I need to be able to click on the contact_reply.eml attachment in order to reply.

Any help you could give would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

After the latest update I now find that the the Print Preview option is missing from the Print button. Choosing Print Preview allowed one to 'Shrink to Fit' or choose a %age size. Very handy when one wishes to size to a single page for printing. There are some other support threads about Print Preview, but they do not answer the question or refer to the above features. All I get now is a preview of what will print, just like many printer previews. I can't adjust its size.

I can't see why the developers would wish to remove such a useful feature, so perhaps it is a mistake and we can have it back please.

This problem has been around for ages, but since a clean install of Windows 11 Pro (64-bit, v21H2) a few days ago it's gotten much worse. I'm using Thunderbird 91.2.0 (64-bit). Used to be that every few days I'd get the "Add security exception" failure (see image) when trying to connect to smtp.googlemail.com (209.85.232.16:465). See the images for the details from viewing the certificates. (I've already worked with Bitdefender to try to resolve this problem -- after completely disabling it the error still occurs, but with different certificates. The Bitdefender cert goes away and I get the smtp one plus one for "GTS CA 1C3" and another for "GTS Root R1" which weren't there before disabling BitDefender). None of the certs have expired in either case. Once I add the security exception, telling Tbird to remember it, things will work fine for a couple hours then it happens again. The frequency of these errors has gotten a whole lot worse since running on Windows 11. I'd rate it as having left "annoying" and entering "frustrating". Anybody have any ideas? Thanks, DougP

For quite a while (I unfortunately do not remember since which update), the 'write'-box has a weird darker grey on shade on the side and top parts of the upper field (where email-addresses, etc. are put in). Sometimes, it would go away when I hover over it, sometimes not.

I thought this was a silly bug that would go away after a few updates, but it remains unchanged for several months now and I was wondering if: -other people have the same issue? -it depends on my installation? -I need indeed to wait for an update to fix it?

I just have upgraded from a very old mac to the newest. I like to update Thunderbird now from 17.0 to the latest version. However, if I use the "check for updates" in the about section of the old Thunderbird, it say's that I'm on the latest version ...?? I have downloaded and installed the latest Thunderbird, but this one did not migrate the data from the old Thunderbird. It asks me to setup new account. I also found an option to import data, but there is only the option to import from 3rd-party ...??? Please let me know how to upgrade; I need all my email accounts and conversations from my old 17.0 Thunderbird in the latest Thunderbird.

Can no longer receive from two of my email accounts. Have "fixed" the problem of being able to send by setting up a new password on the server and then inputting it into TB the first time i try to send but the 2 login accounts are no longer listed in the Saved Logins window. The other logins are still there and work as expected.

What should i do? i've spent several hours on the Mozilla TB forums, trying to find something similar, but haven't been able to find anything.

Suddenly, I can't send emails to my list. Sometimes the error message says I've exceeded the maximum (25) for that hour. Other times it says the following: Sending of the message failed. An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded:

  1. 4.5.3 Too many recipients..

Please check the message recipient "........@hotmail.com" and try again

I originally had about 40 contacts in the list so I tried dividing into two groups but that didn't work. Still got one message I'd exceeded 25 but I only had 16. I recently updated Thunderbird, so maybe that's the problem. Any suggestions.

I can't back-up my mailbox.

  • I have the same problem as in the question from markosv63 8/19/20, 10:01 PM (now archived) in that I have many emails in many folders.
  • The procedure recommended to markosv63 doesn't work. That procedure is in https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/imap-synchronization#w_configuring-synchronization-and-disk-space-usage.
  • I don't think I use an imap account because my server type is POP Mail - Port 110 (default).
  • I followed exactly the recommended procedure but the result was a folder marked updates, containing a folder marked 8216C80C92C4E828.
  • 8216C80C92C4E828 contains a folder marked updates plus two files, one file called update-config.json and the other called updates. This updates folder contains an empty folder marked 0 plus two files, marked backup-update and last-update.
  • None of these files or folders contains any emails.

All else works OK on the PC, Thunderbird was OK before.

When I click "Print" nothing happens...no dialog box, no printing, nothing happens. If I click "Print Preview" I'm told "the selected printer cannot be found". I can't find any way to get to a print dialog box or to select a printer.

Printer is working fine in every other program including Firefox.

I'm using Win 10, TB 78.12 64bit with Epson ET 5170

How do I disable the ANNOYING message box I get every time I want to send a message to the trash folder. Thunderbird keeps asking me if I want the message deleted to save disk space. This just started in the past week. I want my deleted messages to go to the trash folder and I will manage that folder. I can't seem to find anything in settings that lets me disable this option.

Recently I was required to change my password for my att.net account (sbcglobal.net email). After that I cannot receive emails from that account. Thunderbird is able to retrieve emails from my google email, but not the att.net account. I keep receiving the attached message.

I have tried resetting the password under "Saved Passwords" without success. I have verified using the same incoming and outgoing server as before. Also tried going back to att.net and changing the password back to the original without success. When I contacted ATT they seemed to indicate that the server settings were correct. I even tried to remove the account and entering it again in Thunderbird.

There is a lot of useful information available that users have submitted, however with my limited understanding the suggestions haven't solved the problem. It seems that the problem is with the account settings within Thunderbird, but can't seem to find it. Any help would be appreciated.

Failed to send the message. The participant's certificate of communication has been revoked. The configuration related to "s32.creative-it.pl" needs to be corrected.
