I wish to make the Menu toolbar font bold and perhaps a bit bigger. How do I do this?

Also less importantly the background color used to be set by my Walnut theme which is now defunct and replaced by a partial theme with a white background. I would like to change that as well.

See how nice my old TB looked?

Now on Windows 10 2004 and new TB .

Version 68.12.1 on Windows 10 I know the exact subject of the email, I have sent it to myself a month ago. I type "upgrade m1" with quote marks on the top global search bar and I get all kind of junk with the word "upgrade" that are mainly spams. If I scroll back manually I can locate the email with the same subject in my inbox. I have rebuilt the search cache already.

Any suggestion?

My Inbox has 687 emails, but I can only see the content of the three latest emails. Emails older than that do not display. The preview pane is blank for those, and when double clicking on an email the message view is also blank. Emails in other folders than the Inbox are displayed fine, also older emails. I have Thunderbird 78.4.3 (32 bit). I have no active extensions. I have tried the launch with shift pressed method to Reset toolbars and controls, but that didn't help. Is there a tool that re-indexes emails?

I'm trying to import contacts from Windows Live Mail. When I use the .csv method it imports everything but only shows a human silhouette on each line with NO text. When I try the .vcf method, WLM won't let me export to anything but a folder, and the import process doesn't recognize the folder as a whole and will only import one address at a time if I open the folder. How do I do this???

I'm having to conserve disc space. Photos take up a lot of space. I would like to delete photos from my messages (both sent and received), but not the text.

If the photo is an attachment I see there is a little box to the right of it offering 'Detach' or 'Delete'.

If I highlight the photo name and choose 'Delete' the photo is deleted from the email leaving the text, but still appears at the bottom crossed out with 0 bytes. What I want

If I choose 'Detach' I am offered a save screen, and I can save the photo. A warning tells me that the photo will be saved and then deleted from the email. Except it isn't - it is saved but still appears at the bottom NOT crossed out and with its original bytes, and can be opened. Not what I want, and a presumably a bug

If the photo is in line with the text of the email (as a great many of mine are) there appears to be no way of deleting it (or converting it to an attachment, when I could used the method above). How can I do it?

Thanks

I recently upgraded from 68 to 78 versions of TB. Now my address book is hosed!! (Not happy)

I read the various 'solutions' for this error code/implementation and STILL cannot get my addresses to display correctly. (See image attached)

Yes, I tried renaming the abook/history files from .bak to .mab with no luck (after shutting down TB and restarting it). Still, no luck.

I saw a 'solution' where we are able to re-install ver. 68, but cannot find a link taking me to the download for that level. Only release notes..?

I've been using this tool for YEARS without any flaws. Now this! Not happy.

Hopefully someone can direct me to a solution that works. Very frustrating...

Following Windows 10 crash, I restored system using a backup image from August 8, 2020. Thunderbird version on the old image 68.12.1. When restarting the system Thunderbird informed that email and profile data were no longer compatible with the older version and to create a new profile. I prefer to not lose my email, account, and address data that resides on a separate HD and unaffected by the WIN 10 sys crash. Can I install the latest Tbird version (78.7.1), which I believe I was running at the time of the crash, and connect it to my saved data? How do I accomplish this?

Thank you,

Terry

After an extraordinary amount of testing, I can conclude that Thunderbird is placing linebreaks inappropriately in emails sent from Thunderbird.

In other forum posts, I saw these described as "soft" line breaks that email clients could ignore, but in my testing, Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook/Office 365 all display these false line breaks (in both webmail and mobile apps). In fact, the only email clients that did not display these false line breaks were Outlook 2016 (Windows 10) and Thunderbird (Windows/macOS).

The issue is that Thunderbird is inserting these line breaks where the line changes in the view of the composer. This is an arbitrary line that really serves no obvious purpose, given the thousands of possible variations in screen sizes on mobile or desktop?

Toggling between sending in HTML or plain text seems to not have an impact in resolving this issue, and neither does switching between "Paragraph" or "Body Text" modes.

Example images are attached of how this looks.

Any hope for a resolution on this issue? (via Extension or correction by the developers?)

I have used Firefox and Thunderbird for several years but now I am unable to use Yahoo because of ?Thunderbird being unsecure? So anyway I can't get signed in anymore. I have read everything I can find on the web sites about how to log in but as I read and follow directions I always get to a critical spot where a function/icon/option/ is not available to me. So I'm dead in the water again. I am using Firefox version 83 and Thunderbird version 78, the latest downloads and Windows 10. I guess I'm not very smart on the computer but my question is 'can anybody give me precise instructions how to comply with the Yahoo security snafu? Right now I am using Yahoo until I can find out something about Thunderbird and I hate Yahoo. Secondly is Mozilla fixing the Thunderbird program so it will seamlessly log in?

Any help will be appreciated. My email address is: gaylon.smith@sbcglobal.net

I installed Thunderbird in Tiny Core Linux v.10 Everything worked fine, I added two e-mail accounts which both worked well and added the passwords in the master password configuration. Next time I opened Thunderbird to check my mail, the application asked for the master password. This failed. I tried to open and check the passwords, but fail to open the master password folder. I am very sure the password is correct. PLEASE NOTE: Tiny Core Linux loads in RAM, as do the applications being opened. It may be possible, when closing the system, the original password was not back-up'ed automatically. How can I delete the master password entry, so I can enter the respective P/W's for the respective accounts, and without having to re-install the application?

Hi!

How can I fix Thunderbird?

Within seconds of launch, it crashes.

I am running Windows 7 Pro (64).

This problem began during the second week of November, 2020.

Because of the instantaneous crashes, I don't know how to tell you what version of Thunderbird I am using.

I have been using Thunderbird for more than ten years. I suspect that some of my profile folders are large.

I am attaching a screen shot of 'Crash Reports'.

I appreciate your help, and look forward to hearing from you.

All my email Folders and their content reloaded themselves without any problem. However, my Contacts Folder remains empty and I have also been unable to find the correct Filters to receive any emails that have been sent to me since this Crash!

I am now desperate for help, so please don't hesitate to email me to "carl.bongaerts254@gmail.com" and please send a CC to my TBird email "info@tissim.com", just in case I find a solution in the near future!!! Thank you very, very much! Carl
