My computer has not worked for nine months.

I've been looking at my e-mail on my phone (not in Thunderbird for Android, which pretended to send my messages but didn't). I want it on my computer.

I didn't want to do that right away, but it looks like Thunderbird started doing that automatically when I launched it. It successfully got my small account, of course, but not my big one.

It's been stuck on this for more than 12 hours. (See image. My apologies, I've forgotten how to embed them.)

Is it safe to shut the process down? Whether it is or isn't, what do I do next?

My computer is a MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2012), running OS X.15 (Catalina), with Thunderbird 140.0.1esr (64-bit). The process started before I could upgrade to 149esr.

Hi there. I'm looking for a shortcut that takes me from the folderlist pane to the message pane and the first new message, when I'm on the inbox folder. The tab is not good. It moves between to many fields/options.

Thunderbird (actual version) is demanding constantly for caldav- and carddav authentications although the two mail accounts are deleted in Thunderbird. How can I get rid of these annoying messages?

I had an issue with my Thundebrid 148.0 (aarch64) running on Mac OS Squoia. I am using it since 2012 and had no issies. But last week when I was trying to empty the trash in the app, it got deleted everything! I had my saved local folder intact. But all IMAP data was errased. Luckily my hostng company were able to restore the back up, but I lost almost a day of emails. Please look into that issue and let me know.

good morning , I am using a mac mini 8 gb ram and the latest ios, avg antivirus and vpn. Following the latest ios update in feb/2026 thunderbird opens then locks with a rotating color circle and force quit is needed to close it. Emails are via the imap and smtp protocols, with both not being recognised by the server. Can you help, I need access to files from thunderbird. Can this be done offline, avoiding the server problem. thank you for your help. Jeff

Thunderbird 128.14.0esr (64-bit) on an M3 Macbook Pro running Sequoia 15.7.4

I have my own domain and email hosting. I recently changed email hosts and am seeing large files in my profile tied to the old email host. I'd like to recover 30+GB if possible but don't want to do anything hasty.

My Library folder looks like

Thunderbird - Profiles -- myprofilename.default-esr --- oldemailhost.com --- oldemailhost-1.com --- oldemailhost-2.com ... --- oldemailhost-4.com --- newemailhost.com --- newmailhost-1.com ... --- newemailhost-4.com ... etc.

The oldemailhost*.com files take up ~30GB. Can I recover that space without hurting anything?

I recently replaced my Mail with Thunderbird. The left pane successfully loaded my mail folders but now I want t create new folders and insert them alphabetically. How do I d this?

Why am I not able to add a 3rd IMAP email account?

Everything comes up like before for IMAP accounts, but it does not recognize the email or password, for some reason, and I have checked them over and over.

I also tried adding manually, but although it adds the email account name, the connections don't work, and there is not much information to even adjust that.

Message sent has red texts (all containing an hyperlink). When vizualized in Thunderbird they all appear in blue. When vizualized in Gmail they appear in red! Texts written in red in Thunderbird messages still appear in black in draft's message!

Have been using Thunderbird and Firefox for decades, naturally, and have several email accounts. Within each account, I'm a prolific user of folders within the respective Inboxes. For years, these folders have remained in Alphabetical Order, as when they were set up. Recently, however, for no reason that I can suss, the sub-folders in the Inbox of one of my accounts have been gone "all agley", ie. they're listed all higgledy-piggledy in random order. This isn't a problem for my message filter - but it's a real problem for me, having to scan down a very long, disorganised list to find any particular folder I want to open. I've searched for an instruction to instruct Thunderbird to arrange the Folders in my Inbox in Alphabetical Order and can't find anything. Can anyone help me, please. I am looking for the option to have each email row display ~3-5 lines of preview text directly under the subject line in inbox pane. Without it, it's very difficult to manage the email load.

How do I do that?

2 months ago, after an update the programme opens then locks with the cursor being a multicolor rotating wheel. All is locked and the only option is to 'Force Quit" to close the programme down. Can you help ? thank you

I wish to do a mass import of vcf cards, how? I have a list of VCF cards exported from Outlook that I can import one by one, is there not a way to do a mass import?

Das Notebook zeigt die chilenische Zeit an (CLT), die Nachrichten werden aber mit UTC, also +3 Stunden, gespeichert und angezeigt. Wie kann ich die Zeiten der Bearbeitung und Speicherung in CLT (wahlweise in MEZ, deutsche Zeit) speichern.

I'm having a problem with my Google calendar on on of my Macs.

O have an M1 Mac Mini and I can access all of my calendars through that system. However, I also have a 2013 MacBook Air running Big Sur 11.17.10 and I can only access two out of my four calendars via Thunderbird 128.14.0esr on that machine.

The four calendars I have subscribed to are my personal calendar, US Holidays, Stardates (because I'm a Trek fan) and Phases of the Moon. On my MacBook, I can only access or view my personal and US Holidays calendars. The other two can't be found by Provider for Google Calendar.

Anyone know why this might be and how I ca fix it? Seems silly that an Provider wouldn't be able to access these calendars since the same version functions on both TB 128 and TB 140.

The Subject line shows 'Invoice from XYZ' but the correspndents line show ABC. Both of these suppliers use Netsuite. This also happens with other emails from other Netsuite users.
