My emails are working fine on webmail via TSOHost but they're not coming through on Thunderbird anymore. I have checked the settings with TSOHost and they are all correct. Please can you help me?

I often get emails from Bank as password protected. I have to download them and open from explorer so that I can enter the password. If I click on the PDF icon within Thunderbird I don't see an option for entering password. I just see the error as attached.

Is there any way to make thunderbird ask for password within the interface itself?

Everything was good with the world, then I stupidly upgraded TB!

I can receive emails from my two accounts (Gmail and another), but I cannot send emails from either. I have changed the security setting in Config Editor, but it made no difference. I have already disabled the two add-ons I use (Expression Search - NG; Remove Duplicate Messages). I closed TB and re-opened it and it made no difference.

In the email box when I type in the address bar it doesn't recognise email addresses from my address book any more, and tab does not move the cursor from the "To" box to the "Subject" box. i.e. its not just that it refuses to send.

I have attached a screenshot from the error console and any help would be very much appreciated!

I've been using Thunderbird for 5+ years, and I've never seen anything like this. It just started today. When I save an e-mail as a draft and reopen it, any attached PDF files are no longer attached. If I look at a Print Preview, I still see all the attachments. When I reopen it, it's not in the Attachments box, and if I send it, it does not get sent. Stranger still, it matters how the attachments are ordered. If I have 5 items and the third one is a PDF, it deletes itself and the 2 after it on the list, but the first two are still there. I've tried dragging the files to change the order, and it only has to do with the location of the PDF. It also only happens when saving drafts, if I just attach a bunch of files and send, it works fine. I am running T'bird 78.10.0 (32-bit), and I have uninstalled and reinstalled. Still happens. It takes a long time to load Thunderbird. When it does load, it goes to to "trash" and I cannot do anything on the screen. In the box where the subject of the emails should be is a 4 inch line that is shaded in grey. I have no idea on how to get rid of this line. I guess I'm just jinxed, when ever I take my car in for service, the service tech always responds to me with this comment. "I have never seen that problem before." In Thunderbird, I've added a signature (Tools > settings).

When I send an message, there is no problem : the signature is wel present below the message.

But, when I send a message from the "templates" I have created before, Thunderbird send me an error message (see in attached picture), which means that Thunderbird cannot find the signature file I suppose. I'm asked to deblock the file but when I click on the error message nothing happens.

Can you please help me solving this problem ?

I use Thunderbird on Linux Mint with several email accounts. Recently, every email to one organisation has bounced. Receiver advises he has "recently enabled Sender Policy Framework (SPF) security. Emails are getting blocked because the sending email server does not have SPF enabled or is configured incorrectly." All is OK if I log into gmail and send from gmail, SPF problem seems to be introduced by T-bird. I discovered an article suggesting it might be caused by SPAM filtering on gmail but I cannot see how to change that if it needs changing. Current solution is to send from a different (non gmail) account on T-bird. Any helpful suggestions appreciated, thanks

Win X was installing the latest patches today (patchday)

Rebooted, started TB and didn't get into the inbox. TB asking for pwd and that's it. Tabs of Mailbox and Add-Ons Manager are showing the turning circle (don't know what's the name of this). I can see the subjects of the older messages in the preview, but can't highlight one of them. TB Menu is visible but not accessible. Can't open it.

Had the same issue when updating to 78.9.1. Fixed it by reinstalling 78.8.1, latest working release for me.

But now, reinstalling the old version doesn't help anymore. Not even 78.7.1

As installed, TB would automatically choose a contrasting color for text when replying to an email with a dark or light background. But at some point I changed the text color for a given email. After that I am unable to restore the default behavior no matter what I do. I have gone through all the settings that pertain to text and background color and even after setting them all to the default it still doesn't work.

For example, now when I try to reply to an HTML email that has a white background, TB is defaulting to white text, which of course renders the text invisible. Using the compose toolbar I manually select black text and make it the default, but as soon as I type the first character, it switches itself back to white on white.

At the moment, the only way I can reply to an HTML email with a white background is to select the invisible text after the fact and change it to black. Not very practical.

When writing an email Thunderbird will not accept my email address (contactgs@radiolink.me.uk) in the 'FROM' box and I have to enter some mythical address such as 'abc@nowhere.org.uk' which it then accepts and sends the email.

Why will it not recognise my real address?

So I migrated Thunderbird to a new computer of a freind exactly as described in the articel [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/moving-thunderbird-data-to-a-new-com...] and it seemed to work. Closed the program and went back to it and... Nothing anymore! TB opens, but is completly blank! Almost any Menu is visible, those who are, can not be clicked and so on...

So I checked Versions. They are the same on each computer! Tried the 32bit and the 64bit on the new one, still nothing... Each time I enter into the roaming data, delete the TB folder and repaste the "Original" one, it opens again one (1) time where everything works, but after that it goes blank again...

Sorry I could not find a similar post, so I dared to open a new one! Any help would gladly be apreciated! Thanks in advance from Luxembourg...

I have a recurring problem, for which I haven't found any solution online ... hoping someone here can provide advice.

When I read the body of an email in the view window on the right side of my screen, it often spontaneously gets replaced by a random event invitation. If I click on a different message, then click back on the message that had disappears, I get the message body again.... then 5-10 seconds later it reverts back to a random (sometimes different) event invite. There are days when it doesn't happen at all. Other days, it happens a few times during the day. In rare occasions it has happened *hundreds* of times in the same day, where I struggle to read even two lines in an email before the body gets replaced by a random invite.

I am thinking it might be happening whenever my calendar or email inbox refresh in the background, but I'm not sure. Even then, it's strange that this bug would happen at all.

Any ideas on how to fix / stop this?

For context, my Thunderbird version is 78.9.1, Build ID 20210406220621. The email address / calendar I am using is a Microsoft Exchange account, which I access using the Owl for Exchange paid extension.

With the new Thunderbird version, the messages are sent to Antidote for correction by the anti-oops, but Thunderbird immediately sends the message without waiting for the correction to be returned by Antidote (the samed with 10 v4.1 v5.1 and v6.1). Any idea ?

I have two email addresses. Many years ago I had email address #2 routed to come in through my Earthlink account. In other words, all email from email 1 and email 2 came in to Thunderbird via one account, account #1.

As of the latest TB update, now emails from email 2 are coming in on email 2, and then sending them to email 1 - so the info from senders no longer are on the sender line.

When I switch my AOL account to read from the Bulk Mail Folder, I get a notice that the server imap has disconnected. In order to proceed, I shut down Thunderbird and mail filtering, then open them both up again. Is there a better fix available?

Have Beta version 88, Windows 7 Had a problem with the new sending pipeline so went back to old sending pipeline. Now am receiving the following error message:

Sending of the message failed. Unable to open the temporary file: C:\Users\User\BER\AppData\Local\Temp\nsmail.tmp. Check your 'Temporary Directory' setting.

The directory exists.

The email is not sent.

My wife is not on beta version and the same thing is happening to her.

Hello, I am using thunderbird with 3 pop3 accounts of a domain (let's call it test.com). Since 6 days ago , I can forward mails that I get from anything in my domain (test.com) with attachments, but when I try to forward from any other domain, the attachments don't add to the forwarded mail automatically and I need to forward them manually every time. This happens to all 3 pop3 accounts (they are all on the same domain) I am running the last thunderbird version on a windows 7 machine. The forwarding was working just fine for over 2 years and never had a problem with it on this computer. I didn't change anything in the settings. I have tried reinstalling thunderbird. Thank you in advance
