I have two email addresses. Many years ago I had email address #2 routed to come in through my Earthlink account. In other words, all email from email 1 and email 2 came in to Thunderbird via one account, account #1.

As of the latest TB update, now emails from email 2 are coming in on email 2, and then sending them to email 1 - so the info from senders no longer are on the sender line.

Hey, so I recently adjusted the servers for my website's emails (they were changed). All 3 of my inboxes are working. But I keep receiving this message "Connection to server "x" timed out". The "x" is the old server I was using. I'm not too sure what's triggering it to try to connect to that server...Any help?

I have a profile with several E-Mail accounts of which one disappeared and I don't know why. I diffed my current pref.js against the latest backup and found that (apart from minor changes) two lines are missing in the current version:

user_pref("mail.account.account6.identities", "id4"); user_pref("mail.account.account6.server", "server7");

Might this be the reason? And would it be a good idea to paste the lost lines into the current prefs.js to recover the Account?

Suddenly, Thunderbird 78.9.0 (64-bit) Win10 is very very slow

I don't want to reinstall and have to redo all my settings - anything I can do for this?

All else works OK on the PC, Thunderbird was OK before.

Any way to back up my settings so I don't have to do all that again?

I create a new blank message, type something into the subject field, save, and close the window. My drafts folder displays the new message, but instead of my subject line there are three dots. When I open the draft again, the subject line indeed consists of three dots. Replacing the dots again by some text does not solve the problem, after saving it will still have three dots. Thus, I cannot save subject lines in drafts. The same for templates. What's going wrong here?

This is on Windows 10, newest Thunderbird release version 78.9.1 (32-bit).

When I switch my AOL account to read from the Bulk Mail Folder, I get a notice that the server imap has disconnected. In order to proceed, I shut down Thunderbird and mail filtering, then open them both up again. Is there a better fix available?

I am using Thunderbird 78.9.1 (64bit) on Windows 10. I accidently deleted all messages (more than 21,000) from my Inbox and did NOT have them go to Trash folder. The deleted messages are NOT on the ISP’s server anymore. Thunderbird tells me that messages I have deleted can be purged from disk and this will save 1.6 GB disk space, so the email messages are still on my PC.

The deleted messages are NOT shown in Thunderbird. X-Mozilla-Status is 0001 for all messages. I’ve changed it to 0000 but the messages are still not displayed.

Any suggestion on how I can see these messages in the INBOX again would be greatly appreciated.

Have Beta version 88, Windows 7 Had a problem with the new sending pipeline so went back to old sending pipeline. Now am receiving the following error message:

Sending of the message failed. Unable to open the temporary file: C:\Users\User\BER\AppData\Local\Temp\nsmail.tmp. Check your 'Temporary Directory' setting.

The directory exists.

The email is not sent.

My wife is not on beta version and the same thing is happening to her.

TB doesnt get to mailbox after MS patch day

Win X was installing the latest patches today (patchday)

Rebooted, started TB and didn't get into the inbox. TB asking for pwd and that's it. Tabs of Mailbox and Add-Ons Manager are showing the turning circle (don't know what's the name of this). I can see the subjects of the older messages in the preview, but can't highlight one of them. TB Menu is visible but not accessible. Can't open it.

Had the same issue when updating to 78.9.1. Fixed it by reinstalling 78.8.1, latest working release for me.

But now, reinstalling the old version doesn't help anymore. Not even 78.7.1

Hello - Thunderbird started showing a "Syntax" error yesterday for incoming email. But, I can not send email either. I can receive email from from server to a different desktop and phone. So it appears to be something on this computer, which is a Windows 10 and Thunderbird is 78.9.1 (64). Also, when I tried to "Repair" the "Inbox" folder, all the email disappeared. And the repair did not work. Thanks.....

My inbox has lost all its past messages. The header still appear in the Inbox so it looks as if the messages are there but when you click on the message, all is blank. It's just on the inbox. And new messages received since Sunday are fine.

We had a power cut and a crash on Sunday, so it looks as if something in an index might have got corrupted? The size of the inbox file looks to be such that the messages are still there, just not able to be accessed or shown.

Is there some way of resolving this and recovering the text of the underlying messages?

Be very much appreciated.

Hello, I am using thunderbird with 3 pop3 accounts of a domain (let's call it test.com). Since 6 days ago , I can forward mails that I get from anything in my domain (test.com) with attachments, but when I try to forward from any other domain, the attachments don't add to the forwarded mail automatically and I need to forward them manually every time. This happens to all 3 pop3 accounts (they are all on the same domain) I am running the last thunderbird version on a windows 7 machine. The forwarding was working just fine for over 2 years and never had a problem with it on this computer. I didn't change anything in the settings. I have tried reinstalling thunderbird. Using Windows 10. After Thunderbird updated to 78.X it did not find my e-mail accounts (I was using 2) and it did not find my calender (lightning was working fine before). My address book is present. My profile folder is 10.7GB large, so I think the mails are there somewhere, but in no way can I make TB see them. I made a new profile and linked my profile folder to it: nothing happens. I copy-pasted it to a new profile folder: same thing. I did unhide the complete profile folder: no change... HELP!

Trying to attach a file to my email has started taking forever. Sending and receiving works fine. As soon as I hit the attach button, the blue circle spins for a long time. Some times will time out completely. Occasionally, after several minutes, the directory window will pop up but none of the files are accessible until I hit cancel. Then they can be accessed.

I'm running Windows 10 with the latest version of Thunderbird.

I have used Thunderbird for years with no problem until now. I hope someone can help.

Cannot send emails from my thunderbird account - can receive, but not send - keep getting this message:

Sending of the message failed. Failed due to unexpected error 80004005. No description is available. The message could not be sent using Outgoing server (SMTP) smtp.dorsetoccupationalhealth.co.uk for an unknown reason. Please verify that your Outgoing server (SMTP) settings are correct and try again.

This message (in summary) is coming up when trying to send an e-mail. "Could not be sent with outgoing server (SMTP) z9.smtp.startmail.com. Unknown reason. Unexpected failure, 80004005. No description. Check settings for outgoing server (SMTP) and try again." Incoming mails as expected. Have used TB for many yers without any problems. Can use the e-mail account from the Startmail home page.

My copy of Tbird creates multiple entries in all of the folders. The worst is sent mail where the first duplicate is a 2020/08 message and the oldest 2013/07 has 32 copies. Other folders aren't as bad but still have up to 6 copies of the oldest messages. Is there some way to re-index these tables? I'm concerned that one day it will just corrupt completely and I'll lose it all.

Setup: Today I was editing the comment in an existing task and was interrupted by a reminder. I chose the wrong choice (I discarded my changes)

After that mistake I started to CTRL+S my changes frequently.

The issue: This task has a custom Category

After I left the editing process I noticed the Category column entry for it in the CTRL+Shift+D task listing view had many copies of the custom Category I'd created for it.

I reopened the task to edit and de-selected the custom category, CTRL+S, and they all went away. I RE-selected the custom category, CTRL+S, and it reappeared one single time. I clicked [Save and Close] and the custom category now appears twice. Along the way I noticed it duplicates the custom category in the Tasks display for every time I CTRL+S while I'm editing the description.

I successfully eliminated the custom category > saved > closed task > reopened task > recreated custom label ... the duplication behavior continued.

I think this is enough information to recreate the behavior. If not, let me know - TIA

i received the below Error message when I try to send an Email.

Is the error caused by with my Thunderbird Ver 78.9.1 or my Internet Service Provider. The Error appeared April 10th after I update to version 78.9.1. I'm using Win 10 with all update installed.

My email address may have been in the recently hacked Facebook data.

"An error occurred while sending mail: The mail server sent an incorrect greeting: ob2-410.midco.net cmsmtp VkUYlKPKGv3eU 184.83.77.45 listed on Spamhaus XBL. Please see http://www.spamhaus.org/xbl for more information. ESMTP server not available"
