I upgraded Firefox / Thunderbird. Since then, opening Thunderbird yields the Thunderbird 38 main upgrade advice-information screen. Clicking on the Upgrade/Migrate label has no effect. I cannot get into the Thunderbird program itself. No other versions are running. This is on my wife's laptop.

I have a number of contacts in my Jokes group. If I receive a joke from one of them that I want to pass on to the others I do the following: Right click the email and click "forward". In the pop-up contact list I right-click on the jokes group, click on "properties" and delete who the joke is from so they won't be getting it back. After clicking on "OK" the group and a lot of other contacts disappear from the sidebar so I have to save the message, go back into it, find the group in the sidebar, add the group to the "To" line and forward it (after cleaning out extraneous info). I then go back to the group and put the contact back in.

I seem to have a corrupted installation of Thunderbird, it will not send emails to ONE of my THREE accounts; before I completely uninstall to wipe out any corrupted hidden data, I mneed to recover and store my SENT emails, and store them elsewhere. What is the best way to recover these SENT messagese? I would prefer to store them temporily oln a flash drive, and later reload them into a new installation of Thunderbird.

In am using Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit OS with Firefox as my main browser; Comodo DrAgon and Google Chrome (and the cancerous Interrnet Explorer) are installed as well.

The Address Book is completely useless to me if I can't add Contacts to it. There is currently no way to do this and no place to go for instructions. Can someone please post understandable instructions about how to find and then open my Personal Address Book or the Collected Address Book and then please tell me what the difference is between them? It is VERY non-intuitive.

Sometimes I have a long sequence of emails/reply emails, and when I try to send a next reply to that sequence and push the "send" button, this command does not result in "sending.." but in "attaching....". Problem is that the system seems to hang on "attaching" and the mail will not be sent. In order to send the replying message I have to copy the "new" text and paste it in newly set-up email message, which is quite cumbersome as I have to retype all addressees and the context of the "reply" email is lost.

Will not load email most of the time. Worked fine up to a week or so ago. I will need to change e-mail application after many, many years using Thunderbird if it cannot be made to work reliably again. I have made no other changes to my Win 7 PC that I am aware of.

When my C drive burnt out and I reloaded Thunderbird I lost all my email contacts. Is there a way to save my contacts to another drive? I think there should be an automatic save button when you save an email in Thunderbird. When I reload Windows the same thing happens.

W7. When ever I email something, 2 windows open. First the email window then the main Thunder mail window opens opens behind it. Why is that and can I prevent the second window from opening?

I have 2 monitors. Firefox on one the other is for my emails in Thunderbird. Yesterday was fine today you screw it up and my password isn't working. How do I bring up Thunderbird for my emails.

I'm on webpage and click on an email address on the page to contact the party. I do and it goes to Thunderbird. Perfect, but I have FOUR email accounts, all controlled by T-bird, and it goes to one I DO NOT want to use. Every time. How do I make/select the one of my four email accounts I have on T-bird as the default ?

I am changing from Internet Explorer to Thunderbird for my email activity. I have a well develop address book in Explorer and would like to import this address file instead or recreating it in Thunderbird. Is this possible? How?

Loaded the antivirus program Bitdefender. Now I have their tool bar that will not stay turned off. I deselect it in View, yet every time I reopen Thunderbird, the tool bar reappears. What am I doing wrong? Thank you for any help!
