I recently had my pc laptop worked on by a professional. He said he backed everything up. Once I got the laptop back I reinstalled Thunderbird email. It went well except I've discovered that I do not have any of my important archived messages from previous years or earlier this year. Is there any way to retrieve these emails? Thank you.

Hi

I have been using Thunderbird for years and I have recently upgraded my computer and migrated from Windows 7 to Windows 10. I run Mozbackup regularly after a previous experience taught me to backup via that system. However, mozbackup did not restore my local folders. The inbox was fine but that was it - no contacts or history etc etc. I used the non local IMAP email protocol to ensure I could reload in case of a crash. Neither appears to have worked as intended. Can you please advise how I can get my data back? I have contacted my ISP who were of no assistance.

Regards

Chris

Hello,

Have tried repeatedly moving Thunderbird 102.10.0 from Win10 to Win11 using various means (USB drive, OneDrive, map local network drive, etc). No use. The instructions cannot be simpler, yet the result is the same every time. "Your Thunderbird profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible"

I don't know what else to try. My source %AppData%\Roaming\Thunderbird directory is abt. 11GB in size. Have been using it for 11y and would hate to lose all of my old email.

Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you so much in advance. Vlad

2 email accounts on the same server work fine when directly on the server (Yahoo). In Thuinderbird one account can receive mail but not send, the other can send but not receive mail. Tried to delete the accounts to start over but can only delete one of the accounts. I am sure I screwed something up when first starting out as I am a newbie to Thunderbird. I did do an uninstall but that only changed data on my machine, not in the mozilla account. Thanks for your help.

Hi, I have had Thunderbirds for over 7 years seamlesly downloading emails from 2 email accounts. One with Google and the other with Talk Talk. I have recently purchased a new PC and have downloaded Thunderbirds onto it. I have had no problems in sync the email account with Google. In seeking to synch the account with my Talk Talk email, I get the following message- "Incoming Folder Already exists" I have deleted the old Thunderbirds from my old PC I have deleted Thunderbirds on the new PC. Shut it down and then downloaded it once more Again, the Google sync was easy and successful in seconds The synch to my Talk Talk email account brings up the message "Incoming Folder Already exists". I am thus prevented from downloading messages to and from that email account, which is the one I principally use. Some help please to a doddering quasi septagenarian

Running macOS 13.3.1

Just upgrade to Thunderbird 102.10.1 from Thunderbird 102.10.0 TB will now only part open - keeps getting stuck. I have a couple of 365 accounts in it. Downloaded Thunderbird 102.10.0 and copied over to try and revert but still the same issue.

Folder pane opens but not preview pane and then it locks up - have to force quit.

Any ideas? thanks Carl

We have AT&T. A few weeks ago, our email service went out and when it came back on, the POP3/SMTP server links weren't working. Found some guidance online that IMAP works better with ATT, so we deleted the account and created a new account with IMAP. Legacy folders and emails wouldn't show up. Found that TB had a new folder listed under IMAP, so migrated all my old folders into that new IMAP folder, but no matter what I do, they are not recognized, and Inbox will only load about 3 weeks of emails. Anyone know what the deal here is, or how I get TB to recognize my legacy folders?

The funny thing is, when I move them over and then restart, for an instant, they all show up, then a few seconds later, they disappear. This tells me that TB sees them in the folder, but then must overwrite them. Not sure how to stop that from happening? Do I need to actively create new folders on my list with the same name or something?

I had a computer hd crash that had a POP3 email account. I was able to recover the profile with the emails. I just can't get them to 'sync' to a new install of Thunderbird. I have the account and then copied the profile and pasted it into the new directory. It said it is updating but none of the emails and folders are there??

I tried the built in recovery tool, but that is not working either.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Is it possible to run one instance of Thunderbird on a single PC and connect to two different POP servers concurrently please?

Our ISP is dropping web hosting and we have one email address that uses the hosted server address (eg neddie@goonshow.com.au) and the other the address of the host ISP (seagoon@isp.com.au). We'd like to maintain both addresses as they've been in use for a long time but have to move the web site & it's address to a new host. (we need POP because my wife needs to keep all her emails for at least ten years to meet her professional body's requirements).

Searching online gets all sorts of conflicting answers so I hope the community can provide a definitive answer. Thanks, mike

I have been with grapevine since the early 1990's and mozilla shortly there after. It is not about the old message it is about who I am and a name change is significant. Thank you Peter

I'm transferring 10 email accounts for a client to a new service Dreamhost which recommends using Thunderbird. Backups include mbox, and zipped new/cur/tmp/maildir files for each account. I've installed the Addon importexport

but when importing in Thunderbird, 1) nothing loads into the account mailbox i'm importing to 2) a Local Folder appears 'Apple Mail Import" with nothing in it 3) and certainly no subfolders appear

I've tried with every conifuration that allows a zip There is content in those files, ex 400MB, 200MB, but nothing in thunderbird v. 102.10.1 Any thoughts?

Hi! I am requesting some help with setting up thunderbird in a particular configuration. I have a gmail account and I essentially want to use thunderbird to download and save all of the email in the account including spam folders automatically. I want the emails to stay in the local folder no matter if it is deleted on the server or not.

I successfully set up the account and have been able to access emails. I set up a filter to take all incoming emails and copy them to a local folder. The rule is run before junk processing. It does copy over all emails except that it does not copy over any from the spam folder. I see that there is a way to go to the filter menu and pick the specific folder and then sync that to the local folder but I don’t see any way to set this to be done automatically.

Is there any way to have the spam folder contents copied over to a local folder without doing it manually?

I appreciate the assistance!
