Note that when creating a brand new email in Thunderbird with the extra security step, it did NOT utilize OAuth. That is NOT what happens in the new security process.

If I re-create my existing email, will TB glitch? How do I migrate my existing POP folders to the "new" version of the account?

AOL security update by 7DEC21 requires creating a new account, best way to migrate email files? Notably their instructions don't mention this...

Anyone do this already? Any glitches? What's the easiest way to put your old account data into the new one?

How does TB handle the fact that you have two identical emails with separate accounts, differing only in that one-time password?

And how do you access that password entry popup that ONLY appears during account setup?

I switched from version 68.12.1 to 91.3.2 which allows me to access Outlook mail and most of my Local Folder mailboxes did not appear in the left folder pane of the new version. I checked C:\Users\User Name\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\kb7yustq.default and all mailboxes and messages are there. To see them again I deleted panacea.dat and global-messages-db.sqlite as suggested by https://www.emailadepts.com/blog/how-to-recover-lost-folder-in-mozilla-thunderbird.htm but the problem persisted. I switched back to the old version (68.12.1) and all mailboxes appeared again. I have also transferred one of the “invisible” subfolders/files into one of the few folders that are “visible” in 91.3.2 (some of the few that were “visible” after updating) but this did not help in seeing their contents in the new version. The problem seems to be specific to version 91.3.2. Thank you in advance for any help you can provide on how to correct this problem

Hi, i cant open my attachments by clicking on filename. After i click attachment, highlighting header and not opening. Something like there is no command to open file. I'm moving file to my desktop by drag & drop, then after i click it on desktop, its opening. But not opening by clicking directly on TB attachment place. Its happened after final update.

My TB version : 95.0b4 (64 bit)

How can i resolve this?

I want to use IMAP so I can keep my trash, sent and draft emails synchronized between all devices But I also want to clear all my emails older than 21 days from the server and all my devices with the exception of one Desktop device, where I want to keep an unlimited local copy of all past emails: received, sent, trash and drafts.

Sounds like what I want is something in the middle between IMAP and POP

Pop can keep local copies while deleting for the server but can't sync send, draft and trash IMAP can sync all folders but can't (or at least doesn't by default) delete from the server while keeping a local copy

I have tried setting up both IMAP and POP, but POP simply can't pull emails which were sent by other devices so I figure I have to use IMAP and somehow configure it so that I can clear emails form the server while keeping an offline copy.

Can Thunderbird be configured to use IMAP but also for example copy each email from each folder to a local folder where it will not be deleted? If that can not be done, how can I officially request such feature to be added to Thunderbird?

Just for context: The reason I want to set it up this way is because I want to synchronize my emails to the email client on my phone, but I regard my phone as somewhat insecure: I could lose it or it could get stolen. I want to sync my emails to it, but not keep them longer than 21 days. I also want to consider the server as somewhat insecure, as I know that in some circumstances someone could reset the password of my mailbox by fooling the provider (or it could be subpoenaed) The email client on my desktop is secure, it is installed within an encrypted environment.
