Hello there! Please can someone help me? On my pc, lately, when I move an email from my Thunderbird Inbox to a folder, the message does 'go' from my Inbox, but it does not re-appear in the folder. In fact, the message seems to disappear! However, the message tally count for that folder indicates that the message should be there, but it isn't visible. It's obviously been happening for a while but I don't know when it will have started. In the attached image, the folder 'Chatham, Cape Cod' shows that it should have 10 messages in it, but you'll see that the folder is empty, no messages are showing. In fact, all of the 3 folders 1) Boston, 2) Chatham, Cape Cod, and 3) Virgin Atlantic show that they have messages in them, but on opening each folder, each of those folders is empty. I should add that, on my phone or ipad, when I view my folders, all of the messages are visible. It is just on my PC that the messages are not visible. I've uninstalled Thunderbird and reinstalled it, but that didn't help. And I don't know what else to do! I'd be so grateful for help as I'm not techy and, as I work mainly from my PC, it's proving to be difficult not having all of my messages visible in their folders on my PC. I decided I needed to use a password to enter my emails. By following my nose, I went to settings and checked the box to use a primary password. It then asked for a password. I typed it in... twice. Once, then confirm. Now, I can't enter my email no matter how many times I type in the password. I've tried resetting the password by going to chrome://pippki/content/resetpassword.xhtml. It says password was reset but nothing has changed, it did not ask me for a new password, and I still can't get in. Frustration has set in. Thank you for any help you can give tome.

I would be grateful if anyone could offer a solution.

I use Thunderbird Version 91.9.1 on a Windows 10 PC. I am in England UK. I have several gmail, outlook and gmx email accounts, which i use in one desktop client for convenience. It used to be MS Outlook, but now I am using Thunderbird. All my emails are setup as as IMAP.

In my email accounts I have many folders, and there are some messages which I need to update regularly. I originally created these messages in 'drafts' in MS Outlook and then moved them to their different folders where i can edit them. MS Outlook allows you to edit messages in IMAP folders, i.e. you can treat them as 'drafts' as long as you created the message.

In Thunderbird, my IMAP messages which I can usually edit in MS Outlook, are not available to 'edit'. They open as templates.

How can i change this? How can I continue doing this in Thunderbird? I don't mind setting all my messages as 'drafts' if there is only one setting.

I don't want to contemplate the other option of moving the message to the draft folder to edit and then move it back. That would be very inconveniet as i have many emails, each with different folders. In a nutshell, I want to be able to edit messages in my IMAP folders, the messages I have created myself.

Any advice welcomed and I thank you in advance.

For YEARS I have successfully sent daily photos in my Thunderbird with no problem. Procedure: I highlight the photos to send, click "send to"/"mail recipient". Thunderbird then autonatically opens, with a box showing a choice of small, medium, large, or original size, and displays the overall total size in eacg case, so I can max the quality of what I send. I make my "total mb" choice, and click "attach". A blank email opens, I simply enter the destination email address , and all is sent. Simple., Done. Time after time. Today..EVERY time I do this (send/mail recipient/choose size/ attach) the email page now opens with abig square pop up on teling me i need to open an account! It says "IN ORDER TO RECEIVE MESSAGES YOU MUST FiRST SET UP AN ACCOUNT" ( I am trying to SEND anyway, not recieve) I have never had this problem , I am doing nothing different. I clearly DO have an account, as I have always been ablke to send photos and emails. I canNOT get past this and it is very frustrating. (Despite saying "choose account" It only offers one type anyway; a "Newsgroup" acct. I dont want one, and have never previously needed one. It was ALL working fine yesterday. Is this some glitch in the latest update? If s how doI go back to the one that actually worked? I send photos every day, to people bedridden, who need them; this is a serious problem for me. My question was why does cursor disappear in Mozilla Thunderbird email. I did not find answer in forum, but worked it out... Open Windows start menu. Type mouse. Open mouse / Advanced Options. Find "Hide cursor when typing" box... uncheck it. Fixed. Hope that helps someone!!!

My dad's email passwords opened his account until August 2021. He had passed away 3/23/2021. I had been operating all of his accounts when he became unable to, and I printed out all of his various passwords so I wasn't having to ask each time. I have enough of my own passwords to deal with. I normally wouldn't need to look at his emails, but some of our linked accounts are attached to his email address. Property tax, electric account, etcetera. So to reset some of the linked account passwords the emails go straight to his T-bird email. I'm tired of hearing the, "For security reasons, we can't assist you." from the various services. So after reading the different answers on how to do this I'm still stuck. Dad never used Firefox on the computer I got for him so I'm stuck. If I install Firefox on his computer I still need his password to change the password. Help.

my windows 10 had a problem had to have fixed they coopied the data and i have the icon oin the desktop but will probable need to reinstall firefox will i lose all addons and book marks if have to reinstall firefox or do i just sign in and all will be there. i hated to have to do this but apparently they just copied the data and all appps and programs have to be reinstalled

I have tried everything I read in your "help" pages but no matter how I set up Thunderbird for Email I cannot get it to send. I recently had to purchase a new computer that has Windows 11. Is Thunderbird unable to work with Windows 11? I'm so frustrated at this point & need HELP. For your information the SMTP is set up as: description: [edited email from public] @skybeam.com Server Name: securemail.risebroadband.net Port: 465 (I've tried 587 but it doesn't make a difference) User: My Email Address Authentication: Normal Password Connection Security SSL/TLS

Note: I've checked Thunderbird & the passwords on both Incoming & Outgoing is correct.

Just recently, I am unable to send replies or attachments from my Thunderbird email. My service is Comcast and I have verified my outgoing server settings as directed by Comcast. I also tried turning off my Norton for outgoing mail, still having the issue. Last week emailed worked fine.

Sending of message failed. Unable to authenticate to Outgoing server (SMTP) smtp.kingharald.co.uk. Please check password and verify the Authentication method in Account settings/Outgoing server (SMTP). Emails work ok for a while, then I get a few days of this error message and then it seems to fix itself. It's not working just now. How do I fix this?

Hello i wanted to move my emails storage from c/user/user/appdata.... to d/thunderbird/profile.... results a lost all... i have 2 or 3 email accounts i cant attach the new D/ .../rpfile/8dsw...to others 2 email account only to 1 so i decide to get back ( C/ user/.../profile/8dsw... still in pc ) and get no more emails on 3 account and i if i add the profile file (8dsw...) to 1 email account show me all file associated to the account but nothing in inbox... ahhh misery misery ... Thanks for help

SUDDENLY, Thunderbird won't allow me to blind copy to the people on my email list sent out from my aol email.

My SMPT set up is FINE; it has never changed. It has NOTHING to do with 'adding semicolons" between addresses; I have NEVER had to do that before; please don't suggest that now.

message: "Sending message failed. An error occurred while sending email. The mail server responded: error sending message for delivery..Please check message and try again."

It happens with 2, it happens with 10, it happens with 25 or 40 recipients.

Where did you hide attach and send in T-Bird? I have been using this e-mail program for years and have installed i t on numerous relatives computers. Now it doesn't work?????

Can anyone suggest a solution please?

I use Thunderbird Version 101.0.1 on a Windows 10 PC. I am in England UK. All my email accounts are setup as IMAP.

I note that email messages in the 'draft' folder can be edited and the messages have an 'edit' button. This means, you can edit and save messages.

I have created folders in Thunderbird and I move messages from 'drafts folder' into these folders. Problem is I can't edit them and save them. I have to keep moving the message into 'drafts' then edit and save and move. This is inconvenient. 

I have tried various add ons but none do what i want. How can I make Thunderbird, show the 'edit' button on messages in my other folders so that I can save the message and edit it later.

Where can you suggest that Thunderbird make such an add-on.
