I want to select random emails (not all in a row sequentially) and delete with single function. I don't want to have to delete each unwanted email individually.How to d this?

Also, There is no delete function at top of email screen-why not?

It seems to me this should be fairly simple but I can't figure out how to do it. That is, I just added a new account and it went to the bottom of my list, and I want it near the top.

My OSX is in Portuguese and therefore my Thunderbird is in Portugues as well. What I want is to find a way to change the language of my Thunderbird to English. I'm not talking about the dictionary, I'm talking about the software itself. Anyone know how to do it? Thanks!

I have saved an HTML signature to file (as per Mozilla instruction). When I write new mail the signature is present but it is preceded by 2 dashes. I have no idea why and would like to have them removed please.

I've recently changed from Outlook to Thunderbird and am really a 'newbie'. I've been able to set up signatures using the online documentation and forums and it is working great when I compose a new email. When I reply to an email or forward an email, the signature does not display. I have tried very hard to find a solution via online docs and forums, but cannot find the answer. Any help greatly appreciated! Mark

I am using Mozilla Thunderbird on a Surface 2 pro computer running Windows 8.1 op system. I have been through the file, edit and view menus and cannot find anywhere to make this change. Previous answers to this question refer to much older versions of Thunderbird and are no longer relevant. Your help would be appreciated.

I have a lot of email accounts and before I try and add them all to Thunderbird, I wondered if there is a way of changing the order they are listed on the left-hand side?

I was hoping that under Account settings, you would be able to select one of the accounts and then use a "move up" or "move down" option "Account Actions" at the bottom to change the order, but there is no such option.

I have just added two email accounts at the moment and tried using "Set as Default" under "Account Actions" which does set the selected account to the top (at least in Account Settings immediately, but also in Thunderbird itself after logging out and back in again.

What I am hoping was that someone might know if I added 10 email accounts, then wanted to change the order of their listing, I could use "Set as Default" a number of times to move the selected one to the top until they are listed in the order that I desire?

Of course I could just make sure that I add each account in the reverse order to which want them listed, which is fine until I want to add an additional one and change the order again (I do not want to keep removing them again and re-adding them in a certain order if I need to add a new one).

Of course I could just try trial and error, but it seems to me that surely I am not the only one that wants to use a lot of email accounts and change the order they are listed, later? Perhaps there is a more elegant solution that I am unaware of (even if this requires manually editing a configuration file or something?).

Any help appreciated...

I 'm running under windows 8.1, with last version of thunderbird; i'installed the option module 0.4 to recover deleted e-mails, but may I know the procedure to use to recover the deleted e-mails and how it works ? Thanks Rgds. J.Pierre

I want to make some of them "unread" again to remind me to get back to them. Don't always want to Tag them with a color code.

When I turn OFF the "automatically mark msg as read" toggle in Preferences, how do I manually mark them as read?

I currently have two email accounts in use on my thunderbird. When sending emails on Mozilla Thunderbird, the immediate preference is to send it from the first account which I added to the programme but for the most part I only want to send emails from the second account. I often forget to change the sender email address at the top of the message window which is becoming an annoyance. I'm sure there must be a way to change the preferences around but for the life of me I can't find it anywhere!

I have left a lot of emails in my Inbox that should have been moved to specific folders. How do I move them in bulk to their specific folders other than moving each one individually. I have highlighted the messages concerned by searching and then selecting all. I then click on move to.... Nothing seems to be happening....I'm sure there's probably a step I'm missing here. What would it be?? A similar problem occurs when I want to do a mass delete of emails from a specific sender....

Now we can only read emails in different folders if I am managing multiple email accounts. It does not feel so comfortable as we use Live mail and Outlook express.

I seem to have mistakenly changed the settings so the several email accounts are no longer displayed in the way that was familiar to me.

I find it difficult to describe but although the counter shows several thousand emails, they were not displayed unless, somehow I manged to get the in boxes separated from the rest of the accounts - that is a very poor description of the problem, I hope someone will tell me how to return things to the original default settings I had several years ago and before numerous updates.

I have 2 languagepacks installed (English and Swedish). They are both activated as I can see at Addons>Language. My current userinterface is in Swedish. How do I change it into English? /hans peter

An exchange account has been created on a private server for my use. How do I access it with thunderbird? I tried using the tools->account settings->account actions->add mail account path but it doesn't allow me to indicate that it is an exchange account, not an imap or pop3 account.
