I created the folder called "h". I called earthlink and they couldn't fix it. Told me to call Mozilla. The number was no help (no actual person).

I have the folder called "Local Folders" which has subfolders of Inbox, Sent, etc etc. I think it's the default,

On a direct line directly below Local Folders is the folder I created, simply called "h"."h" is NOT a subfolder - it has same status as Local Folders above it. I can't delete it. When I go to account settings and highlight "h" I go to bottom where it says "account actions" , the "remove account" is grayed out.

The earthlink chat people took over my computer and still couldn't fix it. They spent an hour and finally gave up. (They made some changes when in control of my computer and I had to remind them to undo those changes which was annoying)

About a month or so ago Thunderbird updated. After that one of my email groups of 54 addresses no longer went on separate Bcc rows but were all included in one row. That was around the time when my ip address became blacklisted by Spamhaus and MXToolbox. Now they want $100 a month in fees to ensure my emails get through because they are all being returned to me as spam now.

I want to go back to placing each of my address book contacts into SEPARATE BCC rows by using a global drag and drop, not an individual posting.

Can anyone show me how to do that as I have been unable to discover how to get back to that old way. Vic

Suddenly it says "The messages you have deleted can be purged from disk" every time I move emails. Every stupid time. Probably a very useful feature but just not how I have used things for the last decade or so. At first all I wanted to say was 'thank you but no thank you" Now it is getting beyond a joke. How do I get rid of this without deleting any emails? Yes I know they are nominally deleted but I've use that as an easy way to archive them and then copy them off as a history trail. All my accounts are carefully set to "Don't delete any messages". I like that. I mean it.

For awhile now I've been unable to get the "Automatically delete junk mail older than X days" function to operate properly in my account settings. I currently have it set to 14 days, but junk emails older than 14 days don't delete.

I've tried going through Junk > Properties > Retention Policy to set the limit there, but the result is the same. The junk emails that are older than the set time limit don't delete.

I've tried quitting and reopening the program, but that doesn't help.

I've tried reinstalling the program, but that only seems to help for awhile before this function stops working again.

Occasionally (I don't know why), I'll find that those junk emails with dates older than the set limits will delete themselves, but this doesn't happen very often. In fact, I can't remember the last time it deleted them.

Suggestions?

When writing e-mails there are times when I'd like the cursor to advance down the page just one line with a stroke on the ENTER key. I swear my Thunderbird used to do this. Now the default seems to be a two-line jump per ENTER key stroke. A pain in the butt for making lists, signing mail, etc. I now have to tab or space all thte way to the line end and utilize word wrap to enter text on the next line.

I press Ctrl+S every time I lean back to think. I press it a lot, to keep from losing work.

But every time I do, I have yet another copy of the message in my drafts folder. That isn't necessarily a bad thing, if they get cleaned up when I send the message. But they don't. So:

  1. . Can Tbird be set to automatically delete drafts of sent messages?
  2. . Is there a setting that tells it save only the most recent draft?
  3. . Or maybe a setting that tells it how many drafts to save (say, 3)

Today, after a Microsoft update, I went into Thunderbird ( I have version 52.5.2) and found that I lost the Theme and Font Size changer and I could barely read the font in the display... I went into add on and removed the Theme and Font Size Changer and reinstalled, but it doesn't show up in my toolbar. How can I get it back so I can change the font size?

In the meantime, after reading a solution involving using a css file I went ahead and did that and changed the font to 14. That helps, but I'd like to be able to use the Theme and Font Size Changer...

Thanks!

I suffer hand tremors and to avoid accidentally archiving or junking or marking a message as read, I used to disable the single-key keyboard shortcuts such as J, A, R, K etc.

Now that the keyconfig extension is no longer supported, can anyone suggest a way to override or change these shortcuts?

Hand tremors are infuriating enough, but having to constantly recover unread emails from the archive just worsens thing.

Thanks in advance G

Ran TB update to 68.2.2 in Win 10 Pro. After update, cannot access my second profile account using any method. I can still see first profile, but when I attempted to set up in second profile in profile editor, nothing happens. I used to employ "Thunderbird.exe" -p in RUN and naming the profile and selecting the appropriate profile file. It was a little cumbersome, but it worked. Now I can only access one profile. I gave up on running both profiles in Win 10 Pro with TB because it was not possible. I need access to the second account.
