Ever since the last Windows 10 update (1903 64-bit) and Thunderbird update (60.7.1 32-bit), I have been getting multiple duplicate emails. When I delete them, they are transferred to the Trash folder, but as soon as the Get Messages button is clicked, or the Inbox is refreshed automatically, they reappear in my Inbox. This happens on all my email accounts.

The problem seems to be that they are not being deleted from the mail server (pop3.virginmedia.com), despite the server settings tickbox being set to "Leave messages on server for at most 14 days or until I delete them". I have tried unticking the "Leave messages on server" box, but that makes no difference. I also installed a "Remove duplicate messages" add-on, but again that seems to have had only limited effect.

Any ideas?

the problem started with the disappearnce of the send button, when looking for help, found that indeed was missing from the window created for writing a mail, i.e. the whole e-mail tool bar (hope that this is the correct technical term), so the ony helpful comment was the one explaining how to use keyboard combinations - but since there's so many more functions unable to be accessed without the e-mail toolbaar I'd really appreciate to get it back - for that reason, downloaded Thunderbird again, reinstalled it, but this didn't help. As I myself don't know any other way, would like to ask for help! Many thanks in adance! Kind regards, sender

I've received an email account from a company using Office 365 on an Exchange Server. The server is setup for IMAP. I seem to be able send mail from TB (using smtp.office365.com as the outgoing server), but it will not show up in a "Sent Folder" in the Account on TB. Both the sent and received emails are saved on the Office Mailserver, if I look on the web portal or on my iphone's mail app. Even more puzzling, I can't received email on with TB. The inbox is empty, although the emails are being received at the server (showing up on Web portal and iphone). I've got 4-5 email accounts, all running in TB. I'd hate to have to use something else for this MS Office mail. Is there some secret in getting Thunderbird to play well in this environment? The incoming server is auto-discovered by Thunderbird as IMAP SSL/TLS on Port 993, but I'm getting a reject of pswd authentication upon trying to "get messages" in TB.

It seems that Thunderbird follows the Windows 10 settings and installs Dark mode, making the emails/messages unreadable. From what I've read, the only way to correct that is to set Windows in Light mode, which is not always suitable.

It would be nice if Thunderbird had it's own Light/Dark mode feature, allowing the users to select which mode they prefer.

Any thoughts/suggestions on the matter?

I tried using Thunderbird to check my Office 365 email, with the following settings

IMAP: outlook.office365.com Port: 143 SSL: STARTTLS

SMTP: smtp.office365.com Port: 587 SSL: STARTTLS

Normal Password

All the settings are retried by Thunderbird once I enter the IMAP and SMTP details.

However upon clicking done, there will be a message saying "Unable to log in at server. Probably wrong configuration, username or password"

I have verified the username and password is correct, and also IMAP enabled for this account, but keep getting password wrong message.

I keep getting this error message when trying to send emails through one of my Gmail accounts in Thunderbird: "Sending of the message failed. The message could not be sent because the connection to Outgoing server (SMTP) smtp.gmail.com was lost in the middle of the transaction. Try again." I tried the steps online in the support article at https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/cannot-send-messages. All my settings are correct, but my emails will not send all of a sudden. I tried switching the port to 587, but still got the same message.

I'm sending a screenshot of my server settings.
