I have installed Thunderbird on a new Lenovo PC using the latest version of Windows. I have copied the settings manually and correctly from a laptop in to the settings for the accounts on the PC. Thunderbird does not give any errors for collection of email though none are appearing in the inbox. There are messages on the server waiting to be collected.

There is a timeout on the SMTP when trying to send messages so no messages are sent.

I have checked all the settings and they are as follows: POP account port 110 smtp port 587 Using START and normal password authentication for both.

I have tried numerous other permutations of configurations as well as restarting Thunderbird after every change. As I mention these are the identical settings used on the laptops which the PC's are replacing. The PC is connected to the internet via ethernet cable and the internet functions fine.

Any ideas out there or anyone having had a similar experience and found a resolution?

Wir ist es heute zum zweiten Mal passiert, dass ein angelegter Unterordner unter Posteingang in Thunderbird für PC, Windows, "verschwunden" ist. Beim ersten Mal habe ich das Konto im Programm gelöscht und neu eingerichtet. Das kann ja nicht die regelmäßige Lösung sein. Woran liegt es? Was kann ich tun?

I've been using Thunderbird with no issues on Win 10. Its now installed on my new Win 11 PC but in the email account set up, it continuously says I have the wrong password. The password is correct and it picks the correct servers, so why the error message and is there a fix? Dave

I am automatically filtering messages using the message filter feature.

I cannot open emails that have been sorted into a specific folder. The email list is displayed in the tree on the left, but when I click on the relevant email, the message pane on the right remains completely blank. Although the email has been received, I cannot read its contents at all.

Even if I double-click the email in the list to open it in a new tab, the contents are still not visible.

Emails sorted into other folders display without any issues. I tried right-clicking the affected folder → Properties → Repair Folder, but the issue remains.

Is there a way to fix this?

hi, today after opening Thunderbird on my computer the message 'account verification' appeared. After entering the data I got the information verification successful. After reopening Thunderbird it turned out that the email history is incomplete / received - only the last few emails / besides the second email account is not displayed. How can I go back to the previous settings and recover the full history?

By chance I observed that some mails don't show up in the search results of global search. In my example these seams to be some mails from the send folder.

I already re-created the index and downloaded all mails again, without success. I clound't identify what is different to these mails.

Any sugestions?

or

"Total : 1790/2110" Which I understand as "this folder contains 2110 but only 1790 are sync'ed locally"

Dear Team After Updating from 102.15.1 (32Bit) to 115.28.0 (32Bit) I can not connect to the provider "pop.hispeed.ch" anymore. Ping pop.hispeed.ch (on CMD) shows normal raction of beeing reachable with a "reply from xxxx.". I am on Windows 7 SP1. I have checked several times all setting POP and SMTP, switched off Firewall, uninstalled virus scanner, and and and many more (all knowledge found on internet..). Pressing the "Get Message" button in the upper menue bar shows no raction when pressed. The icon "Get Message" on the left side of the button "+ New Message" results in a none moving blue status bar at the right bottom of the window. After a while with the message "timed out.. ".In the settings "Config Editor.." the values of "mailnews.tcptimeout" are set to "300", and "true". I am using TB since donkey years with many many eMails. Are the lost? I put some messages into folders yesterday and then created another folder and dragged the first folder into it to become a subfolder.

When I did this, I saw the new folder but it couldn’t be expanded to show the subfolders.

All other mail clients showed the correct hierarchy except Thunderbird.

Why is this happening?

Secondly, I post comments on the thunderbird blog regularly but they never show up. Where are they disappearing to? Are you receiving them?
