I have 4 seperate email addresses in Thunderbird. Only one of them has this problem and I would like to resolve it. When I send an email, the copy goes into "All Files" and not into the "Sent" email; folder. Which setting do I need to change to put it right please?

Gidday I have been using Thunderbird for sometime and recently had to re-install the program so now I have the latest version of it installed but the program isn't removing the emails from the server. I can't locate the "delete from server" setting anywhere in the options. The status bar then reads "Downloading message 2 of 17," except that 17 is now up to 27.
Thunderbird remains in this state. No second message is ever downloaded.
When I close down and restart Thunderbird, it's Groundhog Day all over again.
Trying "Clear Recent History" has no effect on the issue.
I am on Thunderbird 150.0.2 (64-bit) on the release update channel. I'm on a Windows 11 HP Envy Laptop purchased in July 2025.

I have successfully set up 3 email accounts using my default domain. When I try to use an email account that uses a second domain I can't send or receive emails. This account required manual setup which I did but it does not work. My web hosting is with Namecheap and I do believe settings at that end are correct. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello, I use Thunderbird to manage several email accounts, one on them is not active anymore but I still want to be able to access the emails stored in my thunderbird directory tree, so I keep it active. And the fact is that every day this account tries to access a remote server that does not exists anymore to retrieve email that can not be retrieve, and every day I am asked for a password that cannot work. But the fact is that I did deactivate all options to read remote emails for this account, so that behavior is odd and I am not able to find a way around it. Any idea what to do not to be bother anymore ?

A weird thing has started happening to my Thunderbird inbox in the last couple of days. Emails are showing as from a totally different sender. For example, a Google search on Sondheim has been "sent" by EDF (my electricity supplier) and some Groupon emails are showing as coming from people I correspond with. Also a Keto bread recipe from a low carb group I belong to has been "sent" by one of my work clients! More weirdly, I copied them into a subfolder on my inbox and they then appeared correctly. I have tried repairing the folder but it made no difference.

I have been unable to send emails for several weeks and keep getting the following error message: sending of message failed The message could not be sent because connecting to the outgoing server (SMTP)smtp.1und1.de failed. The server may be unavailable or is refusing SMTP connections. Please verify that your outgoing server (SMTP) settings are correct and try again.
My settings have not been changed so I am wondering what has changed and how i can correct it. My computer knowledge and ability is very limited so please bear theis in mind when offering advice and solutions. Thank you.

So i downloaded TB it worked just fine until now. I can't send email anymore but i can receive them. When i try to send one, it says that there's an error with the server, it cab't connect anymore to the SMTP server. I tried to change the SMTP mail, to delete my account and reconnect. But nothing helps. What can I do? It's the only way for me to connect to my iCloud mail for now.

Thunderbird has been acting weird. For a week or so, it has sometimes been downloading only one message at a time when I hit "Get Messages." I have to keep clicking "Get Messages" over and over to download my email. Now, however, it won't retrieve any messages at all from that account. It goes through the motions, and says that there are no messages to retrieve, but there are. I have tried restarting, both Thunderbird and my computer, several times. I have tried compacting the inbox. I briefly got it working again after restarting, but it's back to not working and restarting does nothing. The online information tells me to delete my account and then add it again, but it also seems to indicate that if I do that I'll lose the email that is currently stored under that account. That's not an option! I am able to send messages, and Thunderbird retrieves messages from my other email account just fine.

I've been seeing a doubling of *some* incoming messages, where a duplicate message comes very soon after the first one. For example, two incoming messages were received at:

Sun, 07 Jun 2026 14:04:31 +0000
So the second message came in about 1 minute and 21 seconds after the first, and not because of anything I did (as far as I know). But then that was it, no third message came in.
This isn't really a bug, as nothing is harmed, just a repeated message. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thunderbird is not connecting with Xfinity Comcast for sending or receiving emails at gpenkala@comcast.net . This combination was working fine for decades. Last Friday (Jun 12) was the last email I received in Thunderbird. I can view current emails on the Xfinity website, but these are not being transferred to my Thunderbird account anymore, These are the error messages:

Unable to authenticate to Outgoing server (SMTP) smtp.comcast.net. Please check the password and verify the 'Authentication method' in 'Account Settings | Outgoing server (SMTP)'." Yes the incoming and outgoing mail server info gibes with my ISP (Shaw) - added pix
Yes have done the necessary adjustments to Windows Defender and Firewall.
Yes I have increased mail.news.tcptimeout because occasionally have received message that "Outgoing server
Yes I have called Shaw and they will not offer any suggestions because TB is a third-party.
What's left to try? A version reversion? Thunderbird has been so stable for so long. I even considered Betterbird but it uses the same profile so............
