The small window comes, but I see in background list of emails & if I use ESC, I can read all emails in folder!!, If I switch to other folder(s) masterpasswordwindow comes again (OK!), but with ESC I can read all emails in this folder. Same procedure with other folders!! My other computer with Win7 X64 hasn't this problem, there is it impossible to go on without masterpassword. Information: There I have more than one emailaddress/-account and on Win10-computer only one address!

Question: Is it possible to get a startwindow without any information (of email(list))?

Best regards Martin

P.S: Great program!! :)

I've read in various privacy articles that even emails with encrypted text body aren't usually protected in terms of their meta-data, and that this is true for almost all providers.

Is this also true for Mozilla Thunderbird?

I have hard copy "Changing Your Email Server Settings for Mozilla Thunderbird" instructions to change settings being required by Cox Communications. When I click the Windows 10 icon to Start and then select Mozilla Thunderbird all that happens is it opens my incoming email file. Can't get to the Mozilla Menu icon to select account settings and complete the changes needed. Live chat gave me a website as follows https://www.cox.com/residential/support/changing-your-email-server-settings-for-mozilla-thunderbird.html which I tried with the same results of not being able to get to the Mozilla menu. I'm really confused & frustrated, HELP !!! Thanks, Robert Drager

Ever since upgrading to TB 68.6 I cannot send from all my email accounts. All imap and smpt settings are correct. I have 4 accounts. If I start to "write" a new message the "From" is from the default and I can send "to" any of the four. But if I want to send FROM any of the other three other than the default this is where the problem begins. TB acts oddly, If I select "write" and change the "From" to an email address other than the default it will not send (the send is greyed out) BUT..If I leave the default in the "from" and select a "to" and then GO BACK TO THE 'FROM" and change it to any of the email accounts it allows me to send..Any suggestions. I have tried so many times to send test emails, that Cox made me change my password as it thought I was being hacked..then I had to start all over again. HELP!!

Thunderbird keeps using tls1 for IMAP. I tried setting up a new profile and a new account, nothing helps. I trapped the connection in Wireshark. After the connection is established, the first packet is comming from client and is being decoded as this: 794 194.220989596 192.168.88.212 77.92.222.71 TLSv1 583 Client Hello After that the server (MS exchange) kills the connection.

Gmail works fine and using tls1.2. Thunderbird 68.4.1 (64-bit) distribution package Linux Mint 19.3 Tricia

I'm configuring TB on a new Windows 8.1 machine. I saved a password on my main email account but did not save it for other accounts. On Windows 7 this works as expected and only asks for the other passwords when I click on their inboxes, Windows 8.1 however prompts me for all other passwords as soon as TB starts up. Why the difference? They are both the latest version. Any work arounds for this? It is extremely annoying.

Hello, Thank you for making a mostly great product. My problem is rather simple. I do NOT wish to have the "remote content" of my email messages blocked at all. When I looked at the "how to" guide for how to adjust the settings, it never mentioned WHERE to find the "TOOLS" button to then arrive at the privacy settings and make the change from the default setting to what I want. Please help me understand EXACTLY HOW to make the changes that I want. Thanks, AL
