I currently use Mitchell 1 Teamworks Invoice Software to send emails to customers for vehicle repairs. Mithchell 1 uses Thunderbird. Unfortunetly I am unable to send emails and was hoping for a solution. Thunderbird is currently set up as my default email.

Over the past two weeks Thunderbird has been constantly stopping without any notification, just goes to sleep and will not wake up. Have to restart the app to get it working, works for a while, then goes back to sleep. Really, really a pain. I am considering something else if this keeps up, every time I restart it windows takes information about the problem but does nothing to fix it. If you're going to beg for money, maybe you should make it work first?

I am a long time Thunderbird user on both Windows and now on Linux. My current Linux Mint system and Thunderbird are both current on updates. Thunderbird has been experiencing hang for several weeks (maybe more like a couple months) I have been living with it as it will recover if I wait a minute or so. Today when I started looking the issue I was more than a little disturbed to find the profile being used was located in mt home folder instead of on the server I had been using it on (I thought) for several years. Upon further examination it appears I have FOUR profile showing up and the one on the server has not been used in over a year. Why would my default profile not be where I expect it to be living??? I guessing I have a bunch personal folders data now scattered out across in at least three places and only one of them is getting backed up. NOT a very happy camper here today. . . See attached info: I didn't see anything in the log file, but then the hangs seem to recover when I wait them out.

I was deleting large quantities of e-mails to free up space. I'd highlighted over 600. Thunderbird asked if I was sure I wanted to select them all, I said yes. I'd intended to then hit delete.

Unfortunately, Thunderbird decided to try to open all the e-mails, in separate tabs. Of course, it can't.

Big problem is I can't stop it from trying. I have let it crash and selected "re-open", let it crash and selected "quit", tried to x-out the e-mail tabs while it is working (it won't let me), I have x'd out of Thunderbird myself, and restarted my PC.

And, still, when I try to start Thunderbird, it opens and immediately starts trying to open all those tabs again.

Please tell me how to make it stop! I made one bad click ...

I have recently set up and started using Thunderbird with all four of my email accounts. However, when composing an email in the "To" field, I find myself having to manually enter the full email addresses of recipients. Is there a way to access my address book from the imported emails to streamline this process?

Each time I try to send an email it tells me to select a certificate for Authentication. Each time I do this if I select any of the options and hit okay it does not work. But if I just hit cancel it sends the message I'm not sure how to get this error message to stop popping up or just go away all together or what the issue is in the first place.

I am receiving the following message: The RETR command did not succeed. Error retrieving message. Mail server.comcast.net responded: Message 9 expunged.

The message number does change each time I try to download my messages. Thanks for any help. Rob

Hi SInce upgrading my Thunderbird to the latest version, I cannot show the full body of search results which are in the local folders. When I select a specific email on a date shown tries to display the body but the screen is completely empty. If I browse the same local folders I can view bodies perfectly. The workaround I am using is to note the date of the emails I've found from the search and then find them individually by browsing the folder contents.

Ever since the Thunderbird update, whenever I start Thunderbird, the email page loads at a point several months back. I have to scroll all the way down to get current emails. This isn't a one-time deal. It happens every time I open Thunderbird.

I have 2 email accounts and this happens with each one. Never happened with the previous version.

How can I get this fixed?

Our organization uses GoDaddy which worked fine with Thunderbird until GoDaddy migrated to Microsoft Exchange 365/Outlook. According to GoDaddy, Microsoft does not allow any of the authentication protocols offered by Thunderbird for SMTP outgoing messages.

Thunderbird has helpfully added a Microsoft 365 option for SMTP settings in the latest update, but when you click that it says that you have to get a third-party paid app called OWL to make it work.

My question to Thunderbird: is this going to be the only answer to this problem or is it being worked on? Background is that the organization I work with has the GoDaddy Account so I have no control over that choice. I've used Thunderbird to keep my email out of the clutches of Microsoft Outlook and would like that to continue. I've also been donating to Thunderbird for years so I'm not opposed to paying. I just don't think I should have to use a 3rd party app for basic functionality.

I have observed this behavior for a number of releases - currently running 115.4.2 (32-bit). TB doesn't seem to download, or at least process, a graphic within an email until I actually open it. The display can take what seems like a while. I have a relatively fast (deskside) system, lots of memory/disc, GB ethernet, and would like all graphics to be processed when the email is first downloaded instead of waiting. I don't see any setting to change this. Any suggestions appreciated.

Hello, Can anyone help with server issues? I'm able to sign in and open Thunderbird but i can not receive or send any emails. It states my server is the issue but i attempted everything i saw online in regards to turning on and off my proxy and firewalls as well as checking the port was 587 for outgoing but its still not working can someone assist me in fixing this.
