I have 6 domain emails addresses on Thunderbird on the same SMTP setting on the same domain name

The problem is when I forward an email from a different account to another then I reply to the customer, thunderbird sends from 3rd one


Example: I forward an email from A to B and reply from B to the customer but the customer receives an email from C or D email address


This is a big problem, I read is I should change ( Email SMTP server ( Description)) to anything and don't keep it empty: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1142077


I fill all inboxes with different content but the problem still

I am trying to search for a specific number in the mailbox e.g. CNN2036988 but it is not able to find the mail if I search for fciu5095194 I can find the mail

The subject in the mail is CNN2036988/FCIU5095194/Michael Secondly, When I find the mail and try to click for opening, there are nothing in the wiew. The attachment which are placed I can see through the menu 'Message->attachment->open and this is fine.

I can open the mail in the folder it is placed.

I have tried several different search and only CNN are not able to be found.

Please help to solve this issue.

HI I'm having a problem which started a few days ago. I get one of the two snaps shown when I ask to "GET MESSAGES" I don't know what Thunderbird is doing to stop me. I have seen these messages many times over the last two days. Two days ago my computer crashed and just stopped, found that the CPU had overheated. sorted that.

Hi all.

I have been using Mozilla Thunderbird for my business email on my desktop (Windows) for quite some time and all seemed to be working well until I recently lost my phone, installed email onto it (K-9 Mail as Thunderbird not available for Android) and on the same day all of a sudden I am no longer receiving email through Thunderbird on my desktop.

The error I get:

"Login to server imap.123-reg.co.uk with username (and my email address) failed". It then gives me an option to re-try or enter new password, which I have not changed, and it will not accept current password. All a bit bizarre really given it was working perfectly fine!

It seems I am able to send email still, though it tells me it has sent it but not put a copy into my sent items.

I spoke with my email host earlier and they didn't want to assist, cut me off half way through talking to me!

I would be really grateful for any assistance anyone can offer. I am not particularly techie but can follow instructions.

This has been going on for quite awhile and I know you've had threads about it, but I thought I'd put in another to bring the issue to the forefront yet again. I'm running 102.8.0 and while I can see the name of my Mac OS X Address Book in Contacts, nothing appears in Thunderbird, despite there being probably 20,000 contacts in my Mac Contacts Address book. The only way to view contacts in TB, for years now, has been to run Cardbook. I'm wondering if this issue will ever get fixed? I see you are working on what you seem to think is a big deal with the toolbar for 115 but in reality unless you are paying attention looks pretty much like what is there now. So while you all think it's huge, it's minor. When will you do something major like getting this issue resolved. Just an FYI, I'm a regular contributor and I'd like to see this issue resolved before this toolbar thing that you all seem to be spending an inordinate amount of time on.

The FILE drop down button which lists the 15 most recently used folders works fine but I have a lot of folders and I would like that drop down menu to include more than 15 items. Is there a setting somewhere that I could customize that number?

Although not critical, can it be changed from "Recent" to simply "Alphabetic by folder name". As I said, I have a lot of folders.

Hi,

I have some issues with phantom folders: I tried every "trick" out there but all fail to remove the phantom folders. I am running TB 102.8.0 under Arch Linux. The mail server is an exchange server accessed via IMAP.

I also used other mail clients for testing purposes. There the phantom folders are not shown, which indicates that this is a TB issue.

Note that many of these folders show up in my Trash folder.

Remove msf-files does not help, neither does compact or repair folder. Deleting the folderCache.json files also does not help. The folders persistently show up again.

Any suggestions? Thank you.

TB didn't pick this calendar up to migrate.

Is this a known issue? If not, how can I retrospectively fix this issue?

For some time, I have had problems sending email through Tbird, set up for IMAP to my Gmail account. I'm using 102.8.0 (32-bit) and it is set up for SSL/TLS using OAuth2. It often hangs at the stage of "sending login information", reporting eventually that it timed out. It didn't used to be that way, now it is (maybe for over a year), and I often have to retry a few times. Recently, I had to bang my head against the wall a dozen times which is more than usual, and that happened twice in the day. It could be that Google was just too busy and I should go away and try another day; but maybe y'all know about this issue and have a fix.

My aim was to reinstall the TB software and ImportExportTools NG, so I could start over clean and this time connect to the new gmail account I had intended to use). However each time I attempt to reinstall TB, I'm told the profile is missing, and that's needed to progress any further. I am stuck. My wife and I each have a Windows 10 account on the same computer. We have Thunderbird on both our Windows accounts and we use the same email server and email address at Comcast.net. Until now, for many years we have had no problems. But today, her Thunderbird cannot retrieve messages - she gets RETR command failed. Mail server mail.comcast.net responded Message 1002 expunged.

However, Thunderbird on my Windows 10 account has no problems downloading emails from that same server using the same email address. The Thunderbird settings on both our accounts are the same. She had a huge number of emails in her inbox, so she moved them to another folder to see if that would help. It didn't.

If there were a server issue we both would have problems. I rebooted the computer to see if her Thunderbird software had been corrupted, but the problem remains.

It appears that the 1002 refers to 10:02 am, the time the email was sent to us. Earlier attempts gave other numbers indicating later email times, so it seems to step backwards in time, perhaps because the emails were accessed by our tablet email apps, but they are still on the server.

Moving to a new (Win 11) PC I accidentally typo'd a password when adding account. Now I can not do anything with that account. It seems partly installed but does not show up so I can't remove it. Trying to add that account again I get 10 minutes if "checking password" then "Incoming server already exists". I tried deleting Firefox completely from Control Panel, but it retained all the old account data and still will not allow the account to be added. Have wasted HOURS trying to understand lots of answered questions but nothing answers my question. The only thing I have discovered is an "Account 2" "normal password" in the further Troubleshooting results, along with the two other accounts that are operating correctly, But I can not delete "Account 2" Appreciate your help, thanks. Third party application(NAPA Tracs) changed their email method to send using their own email send via IMAP using Microsoft 365 servers. Email goes to the targeted recipient, and a copy goes to sent mail folder in Microsoft 365 web based email sent folder. Thunderbird no longer retrieves/receives a copy of that sent mail to place it in it's sent mail folder. That third party switched its logic with the latest release in Feb 2023 to stop sending using Thunderbird directly and send to the 365 IMAP server. Until that time all email sent by third party were captured in the Thunderbird sent folder.

Thunderbird was working fine, then suddenly seemed to freeze. There is a black dot going back and forth beside INBOX at very top. No messages coming in, when try to send get msg "this msg could not be sent because the connection to outgoing server (SMTP) smtp.gmail.com timed out.

No idea. Have rebooted computer several times. Have uninstalled VPN and Antivirus programs (never a problem for the past 6 yrs using them) Black dot keeps going back and forth beside inbox

Go to secondary account, no dot going back and forth but same error message as noted above

I'm having issues with Thunderbird remembering passwords, particular CardDAV/CalDAV (using the built in functionality without extensions).

Thunderbird 102.8.0 (64-bit) on Windows 11. I migrated from Windows 10 and imported the old profile into a new one. Email passwords were fine but it keeps asking for the CardDAV/CalDAV passwords without remembering them in the password manager (yes, checkbox ticked). Endpoint is NextCloud 24.

I already disabled hardware acceleration, cookies are enabled, deleted several .db files that I saw mentioned in other posts and a json file - NOTHING works.

I have latest version 102.8.0 of Thunderbird and recently (past few weeks) mail has failed to send from my hotmail account, the SMTP server settings are all OK and as per laid out on both the Outlook site and the Thunderbird website.

The problem I am experiencing is that if a compose or reply to an email and click on send, thunderbird freezes. I click on cancel and then try to send again which seems to work 99% of the time. Mail sent from two other mail.accounts seems work within Thunderbird. I have looked in tools/developer/errors and see the following but I doubt if relevant.

Hello, I use TB from my gmail account. My problem is: I get a notification of a message in the Inbox file on the left of the screen [i.e. INBOX (1)] but the message does not load to the inbox window on the left. I have to go to my gmail to find the message. This does not happen with all my mail, just one or two senders. Any ideas????
