I have lost many of the emails stored in local folders. I know they were there about 6 months ago, but now they are not. Although I will probably never want to read most of them, there are some which I need. I will be ditching Thunderbird if I can't get a solution - I am as certain as I can be, that I have not done anything to cause this, and am appalled that it could happen. It seems that emails from the last 2 or 3 years are there (although I am not convinced there is a consistent date. What on earth has happened??

I have two email accounts on Thunderbird. One, the gmail account still works perfectly, but the other, a cox.net, has started today to not move and messages to trash or junk as set by the settings. This problem is across all my devices, PC, ipad and Iphone.

Hi, I use Firefox since more than a decade and till aprox. 4 weeks it worked perfectly. Since then the following happens:

These are my settings

  • I have thunderbird on my local laptop
  • have outlook on my mobile phone
  • I use gmx-mail

I did not change anything reg. Settings on my mobile, in GMX or in thunderbird

I can download all my mails. In my local inbox on my computer, I delet mails. IN THE PAST: after deleting mails in my local inbox, they were also deleted in GMX and on my mobile SINCE aprox. 4 weeks: on my local laptop, mails are deleted (or moved to a local folder) - in GMX and on my mobile phone with outlook, the mails stay in the inbox.

It seems that the inbox is only synchronised with showing new mails from the server, but not with deleting or moving mails.

In this way it is impossible to organize myselfe since the inbox on my phone / in GMX is overflowing.

Thunderbird v 115.5.0 running Windows 10 When editing an existing filter to add an additional conditions the edit web page fills the laptop screen to where the "submit" button is off the bottom of the screen and cannot be accessed. The page cannot be re-sized. Setting laptop screen to higher resolution has no effect

Using multiple profiles. Checked work offline. Thunderbird opens to a page asking me to "Setup Your Existing Email Account" when I'm attempting to open an old email account.

The server settings have changed since this profile was used. Thunderbird is giving this error message: Unable to login at server. Probably wrong configuration, username or password.

Why is Thunderbird asking me to do this and trying to connect to the server when I requested to work offline?

Hello I'm currently in need of configuring all of the clients with the Root CA certificate needed to use our new proxy server. I've seen that Thunderbird uses its own certificate repository, but there is yet a configuration option for reading Windows machine's own store, called security.enterprise_roots.enabled . This could be the best option since my users work on shared windows terminal servers. Is there a way to deploy this setting to all users? (I haven't found a GPO template for Thunderbird with this setting) I think I could create a logon script to copy a default user.js to every profile folder, but I don't know where the system could read the profiles path (multiple for most of the users).

I have a Windows 7 that has all my email accounts which still works fine.... the new Windows 11 machine has the same settings and worked for 2 months until 2 days after latest update - when incoming on all accounts stopped and sending apparently sends but hangs saying unable to copy to sent folder owing to network or other issues. My original 11yearold Dell still works fine on all accounts but it should be pensioned off by now!? Any clues about whether to go back to an earlier version or is there something else I am missing? There are many irritating issues with Thunderbird but unfortunately I am not aware of a anything better - having tried most of them in 30 years!

I used to be able to copy and paste url links into an email. When I do it now it jumps into the subject line or will not paste. The only way I can get a url to paste is if I open a new mail, paste the url line in the body of the email and then I can type below it. I have searched the web and looked into this question but could not find an answer. I have reset firefox mozilla and thunderbird. Still does not work.

Is tehre a way to show new mails per mailbox automaticly when i open thinderbird without haveing to open the box manualy. it makes life so mush more efficient.

i switched over to thinderbird couse the new free outlook bloks this feture and dont show new mails in the mailbox at all.

I am using Thunderbird 115.5.0 and have been suffering double line spacing since I upgraded to this version. I can fix it on a on a per session basis, but when the programme is closed, it defaults to double space again. May I ask when this bug is going to be addressed please? Thanks John.
