I am unable to dismiss calendar events. When I click on the Dismiss button, nothing happens. The next time I open my Thunderbird program the event pops up again and I click on the Dismiss button. How do I get this function to work?

Also, I am unable to assign color categories to any event that repeats itself during the year. How do I fix that?

Lost emails in Thunderbird version 78.7.1 , I noticed this morning that all archived emails (at a minimum) prior to 2021 have disappeared. Most of my archived folders show as empty. I checked the forum for solutions and my computer does not have any of these folders set to "hidden".

Hi, I'm on a Mac, OS 10.15.7, using Thunderbird 78.7.1 (64-bit). Recently my Address Books disappeared from view. I can only see a list of all contacts in all address books. I cannot find a setting that allows me to see the 10 individual address books that I've set up over the years. If I ask to create a 'new' address book, I can see a listing of my other address books by I cannot access them. Can anyone help?

I've just found out that I did not need to install a special client as Thunderbird has a client integrated since years (in Nightly since March 2017, and possibly available in stable since Thunderbird 54).

But I'm quite puzzled that I've needed to manually set `chat.prpls.prpl-matrix.disable` to `false` to bring it up in the new chat account - What is the reason to still have this disabled (possibly there is none and a future version can remove that option altogether)?

TB 78.7.1 Win10

It seems since the last update if I drag an image into the message body and try to resize it the image disappears. The image boundary box remains.

If I go to Format->ImageProperties and select Dimensions and select Custom Size and put in a dimension it will resize and I can now select a corner and resize the image within the message body.

In the last version or two there was no issue to select a corner and resize the image.

I have been having this issue since "upgrading" Thunderbird about 2 months ago. If I move received email messages to another (usually LOCAL) folder, the message continues to get downloaded from the server over and over and over. The ONLY option that prevents this cycle is deleting the message.

  For what it's worth, I am using Windows 10 Home (32-bit operating system, x64-based processor)

Version 20H2 OS build 19042.804 with Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.551.0

and Thunderbird 78.7.1 (32 bit)

Hi,

I want to know how do I select multiple emails in my sent folder, so that I can copy all the emails addresses from the selected emails all at once and then past them into a new email as an email to go to all of the recipients I am sending it to?

Is there an option to do this in Thunderbird?

I have around 500 emails in my email sent folder, many are not saved in my address book, so instead of spending hours and hours of selecting each individual email, copying the email address and then saving it it or pasting it to a new email, is there a way to do this all in one sitting. Thank you.

My default view for the Folder Pane is unread folders/compact view along with a few favorite folders.

Since this upgrade, TB shows me how many unread emails I have in a mail account that's the aggregate of ALL unread messages in that account but there are often zero messages in the inbox because they've all been filtered into other folders. The point being, that under the inbox for email account A it says I have 10 unread messages and thus shows in the folder pane but those messages are in a sub folder (which also shows in the Folder pane) of that account and not the main inbox.

How can I get TB to stop that, to stop showing me how many unread messages there are in the primary account (if there are none in the inbox) and only the unread messages in the sub folders? (both show now so it'll say I have 10 messages in account A but those messages are in A sub/b/c/d.

Does this make sense? Anyway, it's annoying as I keep going to the primary to see what's new and finding nothing in there rather than just go to the subfolder they've been filed in to.

I have started getting error messages: "The folder XXX cannot be compacted because another operation is in progress. Please try later." At first it just referred to one folder, now it's referring to 3 or 4. I'm running TB 78.7.1 (64-bit) on a MacBook running Catalina v 78.7.1 (64-bit) - both say they are up-to-date. I have tried quitting TB and re-starting but no difference. It's more of a nuisance than anything else because I have to click on each error message each time it appears to remove it. Ideas and help welcome. Thank you David

I've been using Thunderbird for many, many years and I've generally been happy. However, this release is full of problems.

The popup for reminders has font issues. It's an ugly font but much more important, it doesn't show as much as it used to for the same width. Screen real estate is important so I have to keep each element small. Also, the popup beeps and reappears from time-to-time (even when there is nothing new to show). That's annoying but it has always done that. Now, however, it moves to whatever workspace I'm currently using (bad when I'm on a workspace other than where the main Thunderbird GUI is located).

The new way that eMail addresses are done is not helpful. The earlier version allowed deleting and changing between TO, CC and BCC which was much easier.

The font change on the folder display is not good.

BTW- I'm using Ubuntu 18.04 LTS

Since just before ver 78.7.1, when I mark a task as 100% completed and save it, it pops up another reminder next time I open Thunderbird. No matter how many times I save as completed, or how I mark it as saved, it keeps coming back as "in process". Any ideas please

I have two instances of Thunderbird on my computer which uses two different profiles and I want to merge these in to one.

I've looked at the help pages which describe finding the profile folder under troubleshooting > Open Folder which I have done which points me to two folders - "default1" and "default2" - one folder for each of the two Thunderbirds.

What do I need to do in order to merge these profiles together?

Background: 1. My Thunderbird catches some spam, plus I manually sort some messages to junk folder with the junk status icon. 2. Comcast provides a forwarding address (missedspam@comcastdotnet) to which it's customers may forward junk to help prevent repeats. 3. To easily use Comcast's service, I created a filter for the junk folder: "forward to missedspam@comcast."

Problem: When I "run filters on folder" for the junk folder when it contains more than 2 junk notes Thunderbird give an error message: An error occurred while sending mail: The mail server sent an incorrect greeting: resomta-ch2-19v.sys.comcast.net resomta-ch2-19v.sys.comcast.net Too many sessions opened. See the image. Question: Is this a real problem or just an annoyance?

I posteId this as a solution vs. a question, sorry.

yesterday when I opened TB for the 2nd time, my inbox was empty. I also noticed it appeared to be a different icon and when I highlighted it, it said smart inbox.... anyway, I had years of files in the inbox (I have not been great in migrating everything) my other folders were not impacted, just inbox. I looked in my profile and found the first image, lots of mail.ogengr-#. in most of them, the 'inbox' file had no kb. I found out that TB was linking to ogengr-4. (0kb in inbox). I failed to do the 'repair inbox' trick before I looked through the other files and found one with like 97K kb and copied that into -4. but it only had files from like 2008. I looked in another profile and again found 1 file with 75K kb but it was only 2007 files...

is there somewhere else I can look for the inbox files? I have removed latest version of TB and went back to 78.6.1 and it didn't seem to help

Bonjour, Subitement vraisemblablement après une mise à jour, j'ai constaté que je ne pouvais pas imprimer mes messages sur THUNDERBIRD. En fait, après avoir reçu un message, lorsque j'essaie de l'imprimer, je lance l'impression sur HP OFFICE PRO JET 8620. A ce moment précis, l'imprimante fait un petit bruit mais ne part pas. Je suis donc contraint de transférer mon message sur un autre logiciel(GMAIL par exemple) afin de l'imprimer. J'ai contacté mon dépanneur habituel qui ne comprend pas. Merci de m'aider.
