I have been using Thunderbird for years and since a few days I cannot see any mails. See attachment (2). The whole right field (the message list) remains blank. I can see no sender and no text even though mails have been received and saved. At View=>Design it should be possible to check the Message list header for this but I can't put a check mark there. See attachment (1) for this.

I want to modify the display of the body of emails I receive in Thunderbird. Version 115.6.0 64-bit on Windows. At some point, not sure when, the body of mail from some correspondents appears in tiny yellow characters on a black background; if it's a response to my email, my text is in small gray letters on black, almost invisible. Changing themes has not helped; the heading can be made light but the body is unaltered. Didn't find anything in Settings that worked either.

Hopefully nearing the end of a long saga. Used Comcast email and T'bird for many years. In November I wanted to add a new address to Comcast and that's when my troubles began - it was like quicksand: passwords, and more passwords etc. it became worse and worse and ... worse! I gave up on Comcast and opened Yahoo and iCloud email addresses and engaged Apple Mail. I've used Macs since about 1985 and used individual apps for browsing, mail, office suite etc. I'm used to having an "Address Book" as part of a mail program; Apple Mail has no address book their Mail reads "Contacts" for an address - very nice if one is using an iPhone but not so on my desktop Mac - so I return to Thunderbird which I'm used to. We oldies single task - it's like driving 25 MPH.

Today Matt helped with the correct authentication method to get my T'bird logged on to Yahoo, now to the rest of it:

I need to unfreeze T'bird's opening page which shows a Nov. 18 email as the newest message - I can't click the page away, only scroll to older messages. I sent myself a message today but it doesn't appear as a received message. Could the Mailbox be at capacity? I'm running T'bird v115.6.0 on Mac OS 13.6.3 and it was OK until I poked the hornets' nest.

Any thoughts are appreciated

I contribute monthly to Thunderbird, is there any way to disable the default page asking for donations?

Instead, you could just have a page that says thanks for a contribution (and a link to the page for managing it).

Or, I guess is there some way to edit that default page when launching Thunderbird?

A few weeks back I posted a question regarding not being able to add any add-ons. (I wish there was some way of finding my own previous posts!) Anyway it seems that the Linux versions are broken and it can't be done. AH! but it can! As previously mentioned , the thing hangs at the point where the 'Cancel/Add' dialogue box shows up. Someone suggested using the TAB key to cycle round to the dialogue but that didn't work. BUT ... if you click back to your inbox, THEN the TAB key does work. TAB till you get to the 'Add' button, hit ENTER, and voila, you have added an add-on :-)

On the left side of my email, there are the different folders. Things like Drafts, sent mail, all mail, spam, and trash used to be collapsible under Inbox. They no longer are. How do I fix that. I don't want to see those all the time. They take up a lot of space and is mostly unused. I have trash and spam set up to empty when I exit. All mail is just a duplicate of things that are in other places. Sent mail and Drafts don't need to be constantly visible. I know where to find this stuff when I need it.

I have a second account that uses thunderbird. Last time thunderbird updated, it installed a new folder called Important. Unfortunately EVERYTHING that comes in is marked important so this folder is just a third redundant folder that I don't need and can't get rid of. Every time I try to delete it, I get an error message telling me it cannot be deleted.

I know this doesn't seem like a big deal but all these extra folders that cannot be collapsed take up a lot of space in the list and end up pushing the folders I need to get to, down off the screen. I end up with extra frustration and taking more time than necessary, having to scroll up and down to find what I need.

Anyway, thanks for your time. I hope you can help me. Donna

Hi, I've had this problem two other times with various upgrades, where my setting no longer works. I need horizontal lines between message headers in all folders. My eyes need the lines to be able to scan across and not get lost. I am using TB v115.3.3 on Windows 11 Home.

Here is an old version of my problem: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1277758

Here is the full content of my userChrome.css file that is located here: C:\Users\Victoria\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\hid4pw25.default\chrome

@namespace url(http://www.mozilla.org/keymaster/gatekeeper/there.is.only.xul);

/* Add bottom border to thread pane (message list) */

  1. threadTree treechildren::-moz-tree-row {
 border-bottom: 1px solid grey !important;

}

Thank you for any help.
