Recently, I think after a recent update, I began having a problem with sending emails sent with BCC only addresses. I checked all my settings and they are correct. Forum respondent advised that some systems will not send emails with BCC only addresses; however, I have never had a problem with BCC only addresses until recently. I did try adding an address in the To field with mixed results. Sometimes the email would send and others not.

Second problem. Some of my emails do not appear in Thunderbird but are displayed in the AT&T email reader. Thunderbird is my primary reader but I have to log on to the AT&T reader to delete emails from their server. When I log on to delete emails I discover emails that were not displayed in Thunderbird.

I have been a Thunderbird user for years. I reinstalled Windows 10 on my computer in December and then installed the latest version of Thunderbird. Ever since then I have had problems receiving emails. The program kept asking for my password. and rejecting the password I entered.

I went through the support forums and have done everything suggested - made sure I was using the proper SMTP settings; deleting the passwords, restarting and resetting the passwords; etc..

I can get the system functioning, but then a week or two later, Thunderbird has forgotten the passwords. I have three email accounts I use through Thunderbird, all through the same ISP, acsalaska.net. What seems strange to me is that one email account, my default account, works fine - I can receive and send emails fine. However, I keep having to reset the passwords on the other two accounts.

What am I doing wrong. This has been going on for months and I am about ready to dump Thunderbird

When I read my incoming emails the same emails are shown in my inbox as new emails no matter how many times I read the same emails.

At times, I will mark the emails as unread, read them and I have to do this exercise several times until I either delete the message or print the email.

Are there any updates on how to fix this issue?

Please help! Thanks

PS I tried the repair folder and it was a temporary fix.

I want to know how to completely turn off BLOGS & NEWS FEEDS (B&NFs). This function somehow became active in TB; I made no known changes to cause this function to become active. I want the Inbox Screen to always look like #1 Screen Shot Image.

When I open a link in an email message, I get the message: "You already have a subscription for this feed". This may be preceded by the message "Verifying the Link", then get the "You already ..." message the next time time the link is clicked on. In both cases the link is prevented from opening and B&NFs has been inserted into the left hand panel on my Inbox Page . This is seen in #2 Screen Shot Image.

In the left hand panel on the Inbox screen I right click B&NFs>select Settings>and get #3 Screen Shot Image. Then select Account Actions>Remove Account>[and remove the account]. see #4 Screen Shot Image.

When I return to the Inbox, B&NFs is removed and the screen again looks like #1 Screen Shot. But if I click again on a link in an email, the denial sequence repeats.

I have multiple email accounts across Zoho and Gmail.

I currently use Thunderbird to view and send emails across these accounts.

Question 1: Do these emails sent and received all exist on my hard disk? In other words, if I cancel my Zoho and Gmail accounts, do I still have access to emails on these email accounts in my Thunderbird?

Question 2: If the answer to Question 1 is no, then is there a way to configure Thunderbird to make an offline copy that mirrors what is in the Zoho and Gmail accounts?

Thanks

Hi,

why can i no longer see the count of mail in a folder? ie; number 67 shows beside the folder. all mail read or not. If i get an answer another hopefully quick question- is there a manual or an index of how to use advanced preferences? i'm very sure this a quick check or uncheck or make a slight change in a keyword, but opening it up without knowing what i'm doing.. well that would just prove past all doubt that i'm a nitwit

Thanks,

Mike Trahar

suddenly on Thursday afternoon (4/21/22), Thunderbird could no longer retrieve mail on one of my gmail accounts. I could still send, however. when I clicked 'get messages' I got a popup: One account. All of Google. Sign in with your Google Account but it won't let me sign in-- just keeps asking for my email or phone number but enter it and it asks the same question again. at the same time, I could get mail on my other 2 gmails but couldn't send from them. a few times when I tried to send mail, I got a message about my settings. I hadn't changed any settings, they are the same for all of my 3 gmail addresses. the other two emails that couldn't send, suddenly resolved on its own today and I can send emails on them again. I have full function with gmail (on browser, phone, laptop) just not with Thunderbird on my desktop. Was there an update on Thursday that did this to me? Have you been hearing from others with this problem? Did Google do something? thanks

A) I got a new printer, but Thunderbird, when asked to print an email, sends it to the old printer address, where there is no printer now, so it hangs in the queue. How do I reset the default target printer for thunderbird? [ the Thunderbird help response was obscure and unhelpful. Something about prefs, which I could not find] {My other programs send print to the new printer successfully, so the system knows the default printer}

For background, system: Windows 10 64 bit

B) The Thunderbird mentions junk folder somewhere, but my installation does not show me a junk folder icon to look for things that might have gone to a junk folder. {One organization's email to me always disappears. I cannot see any list of whom I might have identified as Junk, and no idea how to remove them from junk, nor indeed to verify that it is going to junk} [ my futile attempt to follow obscure instuctions and "drag the junk icon to the task bar" did not succeed, either because that is out of date, or I did not get right where and what was the desired -task bar-]

How do I completely turn off BLOGS & NEWS FEEDS (B&NFs). This function somehow became active in my TB; I made no known changes to cause this function to become active. I want the Inbox Screen to always look like #1 Screen Shot Image.

When I open a link to a web page in an email message, I get the message: "You already have a subscription for this feed". This may be preceded by the message "Verifying the Link", then get the "You already ..." message the next time time the link is clicked on. In both cases the link is prevented from opening and B&NFs has been inserted into the left hand panel on my Inbox Page . This is seen in #2 Screen Shot Image.

When I return to the Inbox, B&NFs is removed and the screen again looks like #1 Screen Shot. But if I click again on a link in an email, the denial sequence repeats. And even the link from the Mozilla Support suggestion “This does not solve my problem” generates the "You already have a subscription for this feed" message. So I cannot say problem is not solved and have to again enter my request for help on the TB request for help form.
