Up until today when i clicke on a twitter post in Thunderbird it was directed to Firefox browser and twitter now . This happened before and then it somehow corrected itself now i have today i get this yes twitter is installed on my computer see attachment

Nothing happens when I try to COPY or MOVE emails from an Account to a Local Folder.

EDIT: Bigger issue is that I need to delete this account but I don't want to lose the hundreds of emails.

I need to delete all my Protonmail accounts before i can fix issues with the Protonmail Bridge app which handles the encryption. I need to do a clean install of the bridge to see if I can make it start working again.

Forwarding them all to somewhere would be a poor solution because the headers would be prepended with "FWD" information, it would preclude Replying in an orderly manner, and Searching.

EDIT: maybe a workaround would be to attempt to use a Filter to copy EVERYTHING and run it once. Not sure how to set up the Filter to do that, does it accept * wildcards?

Hi, i have a problem with wrong recipient name in correspondents column, it shows diffrent people from address book than recipient it was sent to. I mean when i sent email to let's say John in correspondents column thunderbird shows Paul but if i open email in field "to:" i can that i sent it to John, not Paul. These people are in my address book. Changing options in Options>Reading & Display>Display name doesn't change it. Is there something i can change in options or in somewhere else that can change the way recipient shows in correspondents names?

I have 5 different email addresses on Thunderbird. I can easily save an email arriving in the inbox of one of the email addresses to a folder in the same email address. I also used to be able to save an incoming message in one email address to a folder in one of the other email addresses that I have listed. During the past 10 days this is impossible. When I try to do this nothing happens and Thunderbird crashes. Did Thunderbird change this feature and does not allow it anymore? Or do I need to uninstall Thunderbird and install it again?

With v78.6.0 I get a message of connection refused when connecting to localhost port 2110, which is the local end of an ssh tunnel to a pop3 server. Previous versions of thunderbird have worked well. Telnetting to the tunnel connects to the pop server so the problem is not the tunnel. Using tcpflow i see the destination port of the connections to be 2080 instead of 2110. I tried changing the port number to 2140 but still get 2080 as the destination port with tcpflow. Changing the local port to 2080 for the tunnel makes the connection, tcpflow shows the server response, but thunderbird still gives the connection refused message. Thanks for any help.

I was trying to free up space on C drive by changing the local directory folder to a bigger drive. For some reason now I’ve lost emails from inbox and sent folder between 5/26/20 and 1/11/2021 I’ve gone back changed the local directory to its original location and that hasn’t changed anything.

How do I go about reconnecting these to my thunderbird?

I have used Thunderbird for years & all previous upgrades were seemless, but 78 has been a disaster for me.

First it deleted all my address books leaving me with only 'collected addresses'. What a disaster, & your solution was not effective so I have spent hours trying to recreate my addresses. Some are still missing.

Second, my font size decreased to miniture. I've managed to get my main screen back but when writing a new message it reverts to miniture again, requiring me to increase font size for each new email. The solution of going into Config Editor doesn't fix it.

Honestly guys, this is basic functionality stuff & just should not happen. The only thing preventing me from migrating to another system is the mass of important emails I have filed. I've been waiting for an automatic fix to come through but nothing. I'm left wondering what damage future upgrades will do? I would at least expect some explanation in lay terms of what & why all this happened?

J'utilise Avast Premium comme antivirus et parfe-feu. Depuis un certain temps, chaque fois que j'utilise Thunderbird (v.78.6.1) j'ai le message "la connexion a été réinitialisée". Je suis obligé de me déconnecter du réseau et de rétablir une nouvelle connexion. Et celle-ci ne dure pas : le temps de réécrire un nouveau message et je suis de nouveau obligé de me déconnecter et de rétablir une connexion. J'ai lu sur le web que ce pouvait être du au pare-feu : quel est le paramètre à modifier ?

I have been using Thunderbird forever and for some reason today when it opened. The tasks section of the Today Pane shows the tasks repeatedly mutliple times. When I try to select them to show them completed and have them not show up. They end up coming back. What can I do and why did this start today. I do see that it must have done an update today to 78.6.1

A problem has arisen in Thunderbird. When I try to send an email with an attachment, I get the following: "Sending of message failed. Network error when attempting to fetch resource." This is new, since I have been successfully sending emails with attachments for some time. This problem occurs independent of the size of the attachment, even with ones less than one megabyte.

The layout on Thunderbird has changed on my screen. I am missing Get Messages, Write/Chat/Address Book/Tag/Quick Filters/Search/Menu Bars/events. How do I get them back. I do not know how to find my address book or messages. Please help. I do not like the new format!!! Is there a person I can speak to to walk me through the change?

Hello: Since my last update Thunderbird has gone wonky on me. After updating to 78 I lost all mailboxes and address book etc. Thunderbird help said to go back one version, and when I did that, I got a message that my profile had been modified and that I should only use the new version. I tried that, as well as several versions, but no luck. I tried "-allow-downgrade" and that didn't work. I finally downloaded Beta 79 and tried "-allow-downgrade" and everything came back. But of course none of my third party add-ons (send later, templates) would work. Then today when I started Thunderbird all but two messages in my Inbox were gone. I tried to rebuild the index but my Inbox is still empty. My profile file says that my inbox is 20gigs. And Ive tried to backup my profile (and even make a zip file) but I guess it's just too big cause he process craps out. Please help me.

So, suddenly Thunderbird stopped downloading my Hotmail emails saying password was invalid. I use POP settings and realise that two step authentication can be a problem but even deleting the old password in the password manager and obtaining a new app password doesn't work. I've also tried turning my antivirus (Avast) off to no effect. Is there something I need to do in the troubleshooting side of Thunderbird before I can resubmit the new Hotmail password? By the way it seems to work with IMAP settings but not the POP settings.

This problem only occures on a few of my customers computers.

Computers mainly Windows 10. I have one customer who bought a new PC with Windows Professional who has this problem. Another who got the problem after the 78.6.1 update??

It only affects users when they send without the MAPI_LOGON_UI. Below DIALOG = 0 when the error is generated.

I have a customer who wants to send 1000 emails. Hw doesn't want to press send 1000 times.

The latest version (78.6.1(32 bit) installed today) appears to have introduced a bug in the Today Pane Task List. For tasks which regularly repeat (eg monthly/quarterly/annually) the task list now shows (in red) every previous occurrence even though they are historic and have been ticked off as completed
