I used the default settings Mozilla gave me to upload my existing emails. But Mozilla truncated them, eliminating th emost recent and keeping only old ones I no longer care much about. I need to correct this if possible. I would appreciate any help available.

I'm updating from Eudora 7.1 to Thunderbird because my net provider is changing port numbers and Eudora does not appear to have provision to define specific numbers. My current Eudora has several thousand stored messages in many folders, I want to propagate these messages to Thunderbird.

Can not highlight the "from" box to change to my email. Even though I am sending this from my Yahoo mail box, when any attachment is added it shows that it is coming form my wife's cox.net email??

 I had to reinstall Windows7 Professional on my laptop due to a problem with Skype.  When Windows installed in the C:\Windows folder, it moved all of my previous folders and files into the C:\Windows.Old folder, so I do have access to them if I know where I need to go to get them.  After the reinstall of Windows7, I reinstalled Thunderbird to get the program and default folders into the correct places.  I then tried to copy all of what I thought was needed but I obviously I missed something.  When I launch Thunderbird I get nothing in the left pane  (where I would normally see my accounts, their inboxes, etc. and if I try to click on any of the links (like Read Messages, or  View settings for this account nothing happens.  If I click on the down arrow to the right of Get Mail I see a drop down with all of my email addresses.

Hopefully this a simple fix. I do not have the ability to execute the previous thunderbird install since it is under a different user profile for a different install of the os.

 Any suggestions will be appreciated..

I have just recvd a new pc and have installed my Thunderbird a/c with my various e.mail a/c's. as before but all previous data, re mails and addresses is still on old pc. How can I best bring these over to new pc ? Have tried with memory stick but didnt work, may have been my fault as I am no expert on pc. Glad of any help. Thankyou Lizzie

I've tried opening a new account but I keep getting asked to enter details of the account I have with Monash that is still open, and the it opens. I wish to transfer all my emails (some of which are already in archived form) to a private account independent of Monash University so that when they cut me off, I still have all me emails. I may be able to switch everything to gmail but I like the fact that Thunderbird allows sorting an INBOX by sender, subject, and date, but gmail does not. Brlund

I need to change a contact in my addres-book as a vcard in front of importing the data as a contact on Strato. Creating a csv file doesn`t work. When asking the technical support of Strato , they told me, that this file couldn`t found. They gave me the advice to change it to a vcard, first. Can you help me in solving my problem?

The field mapping portion of the Import (From Outlook) utility has no provision for e-mail addresses. The end result is a Thunderbird address book with no e-mail addresses in the any of the imported recorded.

Another computer has the email account set up through Thunderbird but we can't figure out how to find the user name. If there's a way of finding this that would solve our problems as well.

during configuration, i input my gmail address and password. Response was "config. cannot be verified. i have verified all data. tried both imap & pop3 setups. same problem.

Just started using Thunderbird and now need several addresses. The top one is my main address but every email to that one appears in all the others as well.

I am sure the program should be able to deal with this.

I am setting up a new HP laptop, with Thunderbird. I want to sync this with my other desktop computer. After downloading the T-Bird set up program onto the laptop, I am given a choice to "open" or "run as administrator." What is the difference and which should I choose?

How do I use my group contact list to insert in the 'send to' pane. this applies for new emails as well as those to be forwarded. I have received an email which I wish to forward to a group. how is this done?

Bought new Mac last November. Need to migrate 5 years' worth of Thunderbird POP messages from my old Mac to my new Mac. For security reasons, I do NOT want to upload everything through gmail, but copy them directly through a flash drive. Don't know where to find the Thunderbird POP message files inside Mac OS. Help?

It is necessary to make a migration copy of all our email addresses for transfer to windows express. Our office overseas can not use Thunderbird & needs all our email addresses stored in Thunderbird copied for migration into their windows express program. How can this be achieved.?

I think we may also need to transfer email copies too, can this be done.? If so, how.?
