We have a sales person at our company that is very familiar and used to the Outlook Address Book functionality. He goes in to edit notes / details about that contact from the edit contacts screen, then on the toolbar in that same screen he can click New Calendar Event / New task to set a follow up appointment, so that the task or follow up appointment is automatically linked to that contact.

The same functionality exists by going to the lightning calendar, then creating a new task and linking in a contact, but it's not as user friendly when you can't do it from the same screen. Is this currently possible?

I set up a message filter for a vacation message while I was away. The problem is, every time I get a junk message (like from LinkedIn, Facebook, etc.), it sends the vacation message, then gets a failure message, and then responds to the failure message. This keeps happening until I can get into my settings and shut off the filter. Sometime I come back to over 200 failure messages because it just keeps sending the auto response over and over.

Any suggestions on how to avoid this?

When I delete a message Thunderbird automatically opens the next message in the queue. I wish to return to the inbox screen so I can pick and choose which messages I view at this time, allowing me to only view messages I consider important at this time.

I checked my webmail server, which contained a lot of intray items I had read using my Thunderbird client. I did retain some intray items for further review or response, on the client. When I deleted intray items on the server, then emptied trash, it also deleted everything in my client intray !! How do I prevent this from ever happening again? Some of the lost message content cannot be re-sent to me.

I don't see any reason whatsoever to delete items on my computer when I choose to remove them from the much more public mailserver ?!?!

I'm having a bit of a problem with ICS files, Mac Calendar and iCloud. Some may be related to TB, some may be internal settings on the OS.

The biggest issue is when I get an .ICS attachement. I have lightening installed, so I'm able to get the file to open in Mac Calendar, but two things happen. TB also downloads the ics file and TB opens a new tab when I click on the ICS file (that just "loads" with nothing happening.

The second issue is when I accept an invite from anything but icloud, lightening shows the invite as accepted, but Apple Calendar shows the invite as unaccepted and icloud doesn't show any event at all.

Lastly, when I get an icloud created invite, accepting leads me to icloud.com (vs. Mail app which opens calendar). Is there a way to change this behavior.

My apologies for all the questions. I'm REALLY trying to make the move from Mail to TB, but keep running into road block (like this) that are really important my scheduling/email workflow.

Using OS X 10.9.1 and TB 24.3.0

I sent myself a message from a website and downloaded it using Thunderbird. The time stamp was an hour later than when I had sent it. IE: I sent a message at 7:30pm. A minute later when I retrieved it using Thunderbird, the time stamp said 8:30pm.

I'm on the East coast I doubt it has anything to do with the website I used.

I never had this problem using Outlook.

Is there some way to adjust the time stamp?
