I have used Thunderbird for many years until a few days ago it stopped working. I phoned BT as I thought the broadband line might have failed but it proved to be Thunderbird. The BT engineer tried to help me over the phone but we were unable to solve the problem and he then helped me install Microsoft Mail which I do not like. Then a couple of days later a computer expert tried to install Thunderbird without success and left me with yet another mail system which is even worse. I would greatly appreciate your help and would be happy to pay a regular fee for Thunderbird as its very much an old friend! Kind regards David Sims

this message keeps coming up when i try to get my email "Enter your password for [email address removed by Moderator Andrew]:" but when i enter the password i thought, it keeps saying it was incorrect and will not give me the option to reset it. my husband and my daughter both get their mail just fine. help! tiffany

This just occurred. The same address list comes up with all 3 email addresses I have . Even when I exit & turn off my computer & go back to email I still cannot get to my 2 other address lists. For example: When in email 1, or 2, , email 3's address is shown. I email 3 it is okay. Also, I have to use tools to get the address list and it fills the screen - so I cannot click to get the address onto my email address line because my email is covered by the address screen. Frustrating. Previously I could go to "contacts" which is now gone, and click. The address list would come up & I could drag the address to my email. Now I cannot do that. So I cannot access 2 of 3 email address lists, cannot click on an address to put on my email to send. So how do I fix this.? I have 100's of email addresses I access. I am NOT a computer wiz so please help and if you can, please make it simple as you can! Thanks, Gail

I started getting this alert after a restart last Saturday (2-22-2014) and Thunderbird freezes before it is fully operational: (incorrect application behavior?)

Could not initialize the application's security component. The most likely cause is problems with files in your application's profile directory. Please check that this directory has no read/write restrictions and your hard disk is not full or close to full. It is recommended that you exit the application and fix the problem. If you continue to use this session, you might see incorrect application behaviour when accessing security features.

I have over 500 GB free on the hard disk and have checked the directory TTBOMA. As recently as this morning I again uninstalled TB using the TB uninstall utility, rebooted and reinstalled from the Mozilla website. Nada,

Hi I just installed an addon "BorderColors GT 1.0.7 by Ganymede" and it has completely messed up my reply to addresses in identities is there an easy way to undo the changes? p.s. When a message with no subject is received in my inbox, I want to set a filter to move it to another folder. There appears to be no way to create a 'subject contains' with the text area left blank. The filter will not work on a test message.

Inbox one email "From" detail not related to who email is From. Other Inbox listed emails are empty. Problem after Firewall deleted malware messages.

Problem follows from Internet Security program deleting malware messages.

The "From" part of the next message received was for a completely different sender and therefore not related to the email.

All other messages listed under Inbox are empty, so some form of corruption has occurred.

Problem not critical as I could either just delete all inbox entries or uninstall/reinstall Thunderbird.

But is there any kind of fix I could try first.
