Thunderbird stopped downloading email for one account on 24/4/22, been working fine for years, 3 accounts set up on the one install and other 2 are still working fine. Updated to newest ver. then tried a fresh install on a seperate machine and exactly the same, downloads mail up to 24/4/22 and nothing after it. Set up on POP3 checked settings against others all good. When you do a download the bottom banner shows breifly how many new mails are on the server but it doesn't download them and doesn't show any fault!? Any help would be much apreciated.

I do have an error message I can send you, but would like to know where exactly to send my question before I attach the error message. But I guess I will attach it to this message just in case you can help

I restarted Tbird in troubleshooting mode and that didn't help. Very frustrating to not be able to correctly sort by recipient (in my Sent folder) nor trust it really is the person I'm looking for!

Hi! My beloved Mozilla program gave me an error message when trying to open it this morning :(

Error: Platform version 91.7.0 is not compatible with minVersion > = 91.8.0 maxVersion < = 91.8.0

Program won't open at all. Any way to resolve this problem? Or at least recover files? I've used Mozilla for years to organize important emails...clearly that was a bad idea now. Please help? Thanks! Lisa

Hi It seem I cannot send Emails' it comes up with this message Sending of the message failed. An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: [TPG-A02] Authentication denied. User jdeboer8@tpg.com.au is banned from using SMTP AUTH due to previous abuse. Please verify that your email address is correct in your account settings and try again. I have checked that my Email address is correct

Opened Thunderbird last night - all accounts and emails disappeared TB asking for "new account setup" Tried to resolve by renaming the default profile to my profile Every time I set the new profile to "default" and restart TB reverts to the original default?

Hello,

I was doing a backup of my Thunderbird profile and accidentally overwrote the good archive folder with an older one that was much much smaller.

Example... The file is Archive under the Local folders.

C:\Users\xxxxxxx\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\xxxxxxx.default\Mail\Local Folders\Archive

Is there any logs or something I can use to recover the file?

I POP from a google account. Lately Google has been refusing access saying

On 5/20/20Toad-Hall helpfully advised:

  • If you use POP or Imap and use 'Authentication Method' = Normal Password, then in gmail webmail, you have to set up to use 'less secure mail' option even though it isn't less secure. It's just gmail scare tactics. You will still find gmail will block the account from accessing server on random occasions forcing you to access webmail and reset that option and usually they want you reset passwords and sometimes use 'Captcha' to get access. They claim they are only safe guarding your account.
  • I strongly recommend that you access the Account Settings and select 'Authentication Method' = 'OAuth2' and also do the same for outgoing smtp settings. Then restart Thunderbird and the first time Thunderbird needs access to emails you will be prompted by gmail to enter email address and normal password to confirm you really are you. Then gmail applies an OAuth2 token which is stored in same place as passwords. From then onwards access to server will use that token. You should get a lot less hassle from gmail. But please remember, that you still use normal password when needing to access webmail.

But the incoming authentication was already OAuth2, and I can't see how to change the authentication on the outgoing server. -Please assist.

Hello,

My remote server supports POP only and the disk space is filling up. So, I wanted Thunderbird to download all emails from all times to the local disk.

But it is downloading only few days and not all mails. Tools >> Account settings >>Synchronization & Storage option is not available to me.

Is there any add-on to do the job or some way to activate the Synchronization & Storage option?

Is there any kind soul to help me out?

Thunderbird WIndows - auto-installed update 91.8.1 this morning, Apr.28th.

Incoming emails stopped showing up in the inboxes in all three accounts I have set up.

Can I unroll the update? 91.8.0 was working fine. I use Thunderbird for work - need a solution urgently.

I've used Thunderbird for many years, problem free. Suddenly, when trying to send a Bcc email, I get this:

Sending of the message failed.

The message could not be sent using Outgoing server (SMTP) smtp.cox.net for an unknown reason. Please verify that your Outgoing server (SMTP) settings are correct and try again.

I accepted the upgrade of Thunderbird 78 and after that I cannot send emails. I can receive, but not send. I have checked with my provider, RCN and all is well on their end. I have checked with my security NORTON, and all is well on their side, even disabled the firewalls to prove it. So, there is something stopping email on Thunderbird side. I am not a techy person, so I need some serious guidance to know what to look at or to look for. and I am very very frustrated at this time. Thank you.

I am unable to upload the pdf of the snip for you review: It Reads: Sending of the message failed. The message could not be sent because connection to Outgoing server (SMTP) smtp.rcn.com failed. The Server may be unavailable or is refusing SMTP connections. Please verify that your server (SMTP) settings are correct and try again.
