How can I turn off the threading of my emails? Its driving me crazy as when an email comes in after a short time it disappears into the threads and then I have to open each thread to find out who sent the email. At one stage there were 6 emails noted near the inbox but no new unthreaded message, all went to respective threads. Very time wasting.

The Password Manager display is empty, so I cannot edit anything, nor can I insert a new entry into the Manager. I want to store the current password. How do I do this?

Upon reopening Thunderbird mail today, I find that the latest update does not allow emails to be opened in a new window with one-click. Clicking on an email launches the message in a new tab instead of a window. Why create a new issue like this? DUMB . . . please fix.

How can I change the order of tags in Thunderbird. I want to add a new tag but when I do it's being added before the last so this changes the shortcut of my following tag while assigning to this new tag the shortcut of the previous tag.
Is there a way to just change the order of tags without messing up the tags already applied to my messages? The answers I found for this didn't work for me. Such a simple thing... At least if the new tag was added at the end of the list that would work for me but it's being added before the last. Humm...

Thunderbird's most annoying problem - by default all email strings are sorted by threading which causes many problems as all the users who have contributed to this issue in many blog threads have said. I am using the latest now - ver 115.9.0 (windows) and i know how to manually change a folder's contents to sort by unthreaded but i have literally hundreds of folders in my thunderbird and to change each on the fly would take hours. Is there NO way to change the default for existing folders to sort by unthreaded? It seems like this would be a simple setting to have included in thunderbird. I'm not even clear if this is referring to a Thunderbird profile, an outlook profile, or possibly a file in an import directly somewhere?

When I click Send, I get this message: "Send message error. Sending of the message failed. An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: billward@kc.rr.com sender rejected. The email address you are sending as must match the email address you used to auth. Please check your SMTP settings. AUP#Out-1500. Please verify that your email address is correct in your account settings and try again."
All my account settings, including my email address, are the same as they have always been. The problem with not being able to send emails only started a few days ago. I suspect it is related to the latest automatic update to version 115.4.1(32 bit) or to updates just before this one.

We've tried everything and when following the prompts to reset (tools > developer tools > etc) it won't come up with the evaluate button or reset button. We've tried the online sources but no success and she can't access her emails on her desktop. Please let me know what we can do !

None of my settings have changed in years, and all of a sudden I cannot send any emails. I have talked to Spectrum and verified that all my settings are correct. All they tell me is that I need to contact Thunderbird support. I can receive emails just fine, just not send any from any of my Spectrum accounts. If I use the Spectrum webmail service everything is fine. But all my emails and address book are in Thunderbird and I would like to continue to use Thunderbird as my default email client.
