I have saved my selected emails in different folders under Local Folder based on the subject of the email. Now I do not see one such folder where I had saved several emails for that particular subject/topic. Need step-by-step to restore that FOLDER from C:\users\myname\AppData\ ???

My issue described may not be Accessibility I chose in Topic above as that was the closest to match. Basically I am missing that Folder as I might have accidentally deleted from the current file that displays when I click open Thunderbird Mail.

I have tried severals methods to import a pst file from outlook to thunderbird but no success.

To be clear, I have a new computer which I don't use outlook with. Then, fomr my old computer I have reduce my pst file less than 2G. I have installed the importexporttools NG extension but i cannot import this pst. If i want to convert the file, i have to pay. I don't want because i need to do it once only.

Who can help ?

While importing a Gmail account, I ended with three Trash folders, only one of which I could delete. Trash goes automatically into the top folder, but bottom one says it's a system folder and can't be deleted. How do I consolidate into the one that Trash automatically goes into, which should be the top one, please?

I was cleaning up my GMX account in Thunderbird. Then, I wanted to move a whole folder out of the normal one and picked "local folder", but now I can't find where that local folder should be.

It would be very important for me to find my files again.

Why does it say "local folder" when it doesn't create a local folder somewhere?

I'm using Windows 11 and the latest (Supernova) version of Thunderbird, and old emails in "Local Folders" are filling up my SSD C-drive. Moving old emails to an archive on an external drive (not the Cloud) would be my preferred solution, but I can't make the Thunderbird "Archive" function work - and, anyway, it may well not be the best way to do it. Can anyone help, please.

Dear Team, I have to download approximately 9000 emails in the inbox/ sent folders saved in yahoo with attachments. Though I could download after spending a week, unable to see the downloaded messages. Please inform how to proceed. Thanks. p.s: As suggested by chatgpt, I selected all messages in both the folders and downloaded them again. Please suggest best way to download the messages quickly and verify the contents. I want to make a local back-up not only of my local Thunderbird folders, but also on the on-line folders. I am using IMAP and as far as I get, using the "export options", you only back-up data in the local folder. How do I ensure that I get a local copy of also the on-line inbox (and all of its sub folders)

My provider changed from q.com email to myctl.net email. I was using outlook but it wasn't downloading new emails. They are on provider web mail. When I downloaded Thunderbird it asked about importing from Outlook and I did. Now it is trying to download the 36,000 emails on the server site and going very slowly and I can't open the ones it has downloaded, I think because it was sent to q.com. Can i uninstall Thunderbird and then set it up again without importing anything?

I have several MBOX files with me and I want to import MBOX files into the Thunderbird email client. I've come across different methods, including manual techniques and third-party tools, but I'm unsure which approach is the most efficient, especially when dealing with multiple or large-sized MBOX files. Some methods also seem complicated for users who are not very technical.

I bought Thunderbird because Gmail kept telling me I reached my 15gb limit. I thought I could transfer my emails to my local hard drive thereby freeing up my Gmail account. Now Thunderbird is saying I have reached my limit as well. Is there a limit on transferring emails to your hard drive? What am I doing wrong?

In reference to the article [[Knowledge Base Article|http://mzl.la/1ApHiU3]], "Move Thunderbird data to a new computer", this misses the transfer of Local Folders.

The instructions only include moving the Thunderbird application data folder with profile information but does not include Local Folders, after completing these instructions the Local Folders will not be present on the new computer.

The path for Local Folders is under Account Settings > Local Folders, this folder needs to be copied to the similar path on the new computer as well.

I have copied emails from a Windows 10 to Windows 11 computer using these instructions and it appears to work.

I will preface this with no I do not have a backup - which is my fault. However I did not expect my account to be nuked into oblivion with no explanation.

As per the title, all my emails are gone. My local folders are devoid of anything I can use and am hoping that everything may be on a server somewhere. This is years of emails, important correspondence, bank information, business, etc. The ONLY thing I can think of is when I download the TB app for android and sync'd it using the QR on the desktop version of thunderbird. I then checked stuff the next day and everything was gone barring emails from that day, all folders, everything was gone. Is there no way to recover this?

I have an old (Windows 7!) PC with an older version of Thunderbird (not sure which version) on it. My PC died, but the hard drive is still perfectly fine and all of the files are intact. I recently bought a Mac Book and wonder if it is possible to install Thunderbird for Mac on it and then import all my messages and contacts from the old PC hard drive using an import tool.

I am trying to help my mom transfer her e-mail from TB installed on a Windows 7 PC to a Windows 10 PC.

I have exported her old e-mails from TB using the ImportExportNG add-on as an Inbox file with the folder structure preserved. However, when I try to import that same Inbox file into TB on the W10 machine, TB will not recognize that file and import it, no matter what settings I choose for the import.

Anyone have any idea what might be going wrong?

Can I just copy the entire profile folder and name it as a backup or do I have to copy the contents of the folder?

I just want to create a backup to include all my email messages.

I am trying to upload some backups after moving from one email platform to the other. The mailbox was deleted from the old platform and created on the new one and now I am trying to upload the backups but when the upload finishes, nothing happens, the profile stays the same, I don't see the backups added to the Thunderbird profile so that I may copy them into the new mailbox.
