Thunderbird is downloading new messages but failing to display them.

Other functionality remains active, ie I can see and open messages, delete all the contents of folders, compose and send messages, but when the software downloads new messages they simply do not display and cannot be accessed.

Not sure if it's relevant, but the message INBOX count appears to be stuck at the number 59, although more messages than that have been downloaded.

Bizarrely this is the message displayed whenever I now open the Thunderbird application (it was there when the problem first appeared and returns everytime). Out of desperation I even made a donation in the hope it would release the messages!

My cable company not doing email accounts anymore and has told me to use everyemail.com . For some reason I cannot use Thunderbirdto see my email anymore. I'm a 77 yr old widow. I have always had the Mozilla products. I don't know what to do and have nobody to help me. I hear my mail loading but can't read it. Please help. For a few weeks now we have been unable to send emails through tbaytel server via Thunderbird. We get SMTP error. This happened after recent upgrades to Mozilla. Any idea when a fix will be out?

Earlier today I was able to access my AT&T email using Thunderbird. I have several email addresses & they worked. But later on I could not download any AT&T email. Interesting that my gmail address still works with TB.

I tried a few things - An AT&T address can send to the gmail address & the gmail does receive it. The gmail can send to an AT&T address. The gmail indicates it was sent, but the AT&T address never receives it.

It seems to be an AT&T problem so I went to the AT&T site & deleted the Secure Mail Key an created a new one. Did this on just one address. It can still send to the gmail address, however it still cannot receive anything.

When trying to receive any AT&T email, at the bottom of the screen it displays my address & “Connected to inbound.att .net”. That would seem to indicate I'm connected but just cannot get my email.

And suggestions on how to get TB working with AT&T email? Thanks.

New mail keeps going to either the Inbox, Notifications, or the Newsletter folders by default. No filters have been added to change the initial settings. How can the settings be modified so that all incoming mail goes to the inbox, eliminating every future instance of it being directed elsewhere?

I have no interest in the Notifications or Newsletter folders. I'm happy with getting rid of them completely, if that is a possibility that can solve the problem.

I set up a new Outlook.com account around a month ago. I initially had problems both receiving and sending but resolved that after enabling the IMAP option on the Outlook Web pages.

I have checked the SMTP settings and they are correct, and the connection test succeeds. Sending via the Outlook Web page works correctly.

For reference, I am using Thunderbird 153.3.1esr (64-bit) on Linux Mint.

Suddenly and without warning, Thunderbird is no longer able to get messages. It just says DONE. Trying to get messages even from the menu bar does nothing. It doesn't prompt me for anything. Composing and sending work fine! I know it's an old OS Win7, but my other Win7 machines work fine. I'm afraid to do an uninstall and reinstall and lose very important messages. I open Thunderbird and click on get messages and emails are not coming into Thunderbird from AT&T. It worked perfectly yesterday but today we are encountering this issue. There was no changes to the application since yesterday. Thunderbird is online I clicked the icon at the bottom it shows when it is offline. I contacted AT&T and they said things were working on their side. What are possible things I can do to fix this issue

Thunderbird/Mozilla is my provider for my email. I haven't been able to receive any emails. I'm getting a message "authentication error while connecting to server imap.mail.yohoo.com" can you help me?

Cannot receive and email because I am told by AVAST that the certificate for inbound.att.net has been revoked. I am not at all technical and at a loss as what to do. Please help! Thank you.

My last email was Oct 2: The settings seem correct, I can even connect to AOL host. But no emails arrive. In addition an AOL banner appears asking me to verify info. I click agree and enter "Next" I then get an Uh oh something went wrong. I enter Close and a large Yahoo banner appears. The only way to close it is with Alt F4. Chat and I have spent 6 or 7 hours with no success

This morning I started getting this popup in lower right part of my screen every minute :

Mozilla ESR Thunderbird Connection to server inbound.att.net has been reset

It continues over and over as TB tries to get new messages.

Also, AVG Free antivirus is telling me it has identified a site certification problem. LOCATION: inbound.att.net (POP) Process: thunderbird.exe Detected by: Email Shield

In TB Help it says I'm currently on the esr uipdate channel .....whatever that means Whats the issue here? Can anyone help?
