Anyone know how to use the new setting "mail.addr_book.add_item_default_uri" in 155? The default value is a URI, "jsaddrbook://abook.sqlite", how do I figure out the URI of an alternative? I want to point it to my CardDAV server, do I just set it to the CardDAV URL?

I have Thunderbird 155.0 installed and also, TBSync + Google-4-TbSync to synchronise contacts between TB and Google.

However, I have just realised it hasn't been working for several months and TBSync is no longer compatible.

Are there other tools/techniques available to sync the contacts with Google?

I just installed Thunderbird 154, but i cannot find the address book. i know it exists as T-bird does preload my addresses when i create a new email. Is there a button that I am not seeing?

Trying to set up a mailing list for emails. Not sure how to set up a group that I can use to list names and emails. Went to help. Instructions said to > open address book > select file > new > mailing list. I went to address book ok but cannot find 'File' there.

Am after assistance in getting mailing list set up.

Contacts stopped syncing with Gmail. Followed various troubleshooting including deleting address book and trying to reinstall, and cannot reinstall Gmail address book.

Is this still possible in Release 153 because I cannot find how using this suggestion:

Open Thunderbird, click the Address Book button, select the specific contact list, go to Tools > Export , choose Comma Separated (.csv) as the file type, and click Save.

Maybe I have not found where to set it, otherwise it is a .change request.

When creating a new message and entering a name in the “To” field, all email addresses for the recipient are displayed for selection. - Order as in the address book - The one marked as “Default” is neither the first nor identifiable as such. I prefer to have the Contact Name only display in the TO: field of composed or outgoing emails. I already know their address is correct in my Address Book, why do I need to see it? Presently, the TO: field shows "Name <email address>", as shown in the first uploaded image.

I am a new user to Thunderbird and I have reviwed, and believe, set all the Settings correctly that I could find on the subject (see second uploaded image), but the results do not change.

What am I missing?

Edit address book entry displays only DELETE and CANCEL at the bottom of the edited entry. The rightmost border may be obscured as the display does not allow for scroll.

Currently using 140.7.1esr (64-bit) and having problem with more than one contact having same email address. Looking at copy of sent email and address names are same, but floating over each the embedded are the correct names. Do recipients see same address?? Who is receiving the email -- very confused?? Would like to see correct names.

I frequently need to send emails to around 30 recipients. In MS Outlook, it is possible to create a recipient group in the address book. Is there a way to do this in Thunderbird as well?

Somewhere along the line, I lost all the entries in my Thunderbird address book. I tried to import from Outlook to repopulate it. This turned into a disaster.

When I get to the point where I can select the field, the destination they are mapped to make no sense whatsoever. For example, the Middle Name maps to the Last Name field. OK. Bad guess. But then all the drop down shows as options is Last Name. I cannot map it to middle name. The address book drop down only allows you to select what it is already set to.

Company Yomi (whatever that is) is mapped to Notes. At the end of the list, the source field Notes is shown and no destination mapping is available at all, so what happens if I select it.

Address sidebar CONTENTS disappears after turning on to forward or send a message, The sidebar is still there but empty of addresses, which do appear for about a second on opening the forward message tab.

Recently, when reviewing my emails the correspondent is NOT correctly listed. It's another entry in my contacts with no connection to the email, which IS in my contacts. It's getting worse and worse, happening more frequently. The header info is correct within the email, but it doesn't display correctly in the correspondent field. Checked my email provider, and they are listed correctly there.

How do I get the correct correspondent to be listed for the corresponding email within thunderbird?
