not sure if this is where i should be but i tried the Thunderbird help and got no answer. After the most recent Thunderbird up date and a Thunderbird install over existing one when i go to my drafts folder and click on any draft or save message in there i get a yellow bar at the bottom of the page that i have never seen before . Now i do not want recreate a new profile and lose all my contacts book marks add on etc. how do i remove that yellow bar in Thunderbird mail

I accidentally deleted a fairly large email, namely 3GB in the Thunderbird application, but when I checked in junk/trash the deleted email didn't appear. When I checked locally there was a file called Trash (no file format) with a size of around 3GB and in it there was an email which I deleted previously. How do I return the email back to the inbox?

I am having difficulties with setting up my Archives. I have been submitting many emails to Archives with the belief that it was to "Local Folders". I inadvertently noticed that there was no active Archive folder showing. I checked a couple of suggestions from the Knowledge Base, but no help. Instead of keeping the settings I selected (choosing Local Folder vs gmail account online and the folder I wanted to designate) but Thunderbird did not reveal my files in Archive. Rather, it went back to the gmail account online (imap).

I am at a loss and need some helpful input.

Hello A feature I used to use frequently is gone now since updating to Thunderbird 115. That was the ability, when in a message, to click on 'More' top right and then 'open message in conversation' or something like that - to see all exchanges with a particular sender. I've searched the help database and found people had similar problems - some of the answers seem to be about large accounts - but I'm just not clear on what might be the cause in my case. Hello, is there any way to sync settings/accounts etc with another computers? Have 2x work computers, 2x home computers and if I change something in thunderbird, it's really annoying to make changes in other computers too.

Any way to sync that please? Using latest thunderbird version.

Updated Thunderbird but it will not pull Optimum mail. It worked yesterday

After 30 or so emails downloaded this morning from Comcast, the following error appeared:

The RETR command did not succeed. Error retrieving a message. Mail server mail.comcast.net responded: Message 109 expunged.

It started with message 111 but has dropped by 1 each time the attempt was made. When I login directly to my comcast account, there are no error messages seen except that for a while, the email symbol had a red dot at the bottom which has now gone away. Cannot get tech support at Comcast and the local office has no technical support capability.

I have a folder containing messages sent to/from a company (two different contacts). When I go to that folder I want to be able to see the individual messages. Instead, I see them by conversation (each item summarizes multiple messages). That's not how I want to see them. This changed very recently from the default of individual messages and I don't know how or why. How do I reset this please?

Is there a limit to the number of email accounts that can be shown in Thunderbird Supernova? I have 8 separate email accounts and if I look in Account Settings, all of them are functioning but only seven accounts show on the front page which means I cannot read the emails from the 8th account. I can send an email from the write function by selecting the 8th account in the drop down box but cannot see it at all on the front page. Only way I can read the emails is by logging into webmail

odd cross association between two TB mail accounts

With two TB IMAP email accounts, I am seeing incorrect return paths in the headers and sent mail copies from one account. Both are google accounts, B is a business google account and A is a personal gmail account.

Email sent from account B is delivered to the proper address, but with a return path to account A. So all replies are coming back to the wrong account.

I have double checked the setting for Copies & Folder and both stipulate unique locations. I have even tried to specify the correct B email in the Reply-to Address. Copies of the sent email are saved in the Gmail Sent Mail folders on BOTH accounts! The header in the copy in the A Sent Mail shows it is from my personal account, not my business account!

I notice one odd thing -- This seems to have started happening when I switched business domain registrars and moved business email from godaddy to dreamhost. Sent mail copies had previously been saved to the regular Sent folder but after editing the settings for the mail server, it switched to the Gmail Sent Mail folder. Could that have anything to do with it?

(I'm not all that knowledgeable with the technical end, just enough to probably get myself in trouble.)

Thunderbird Cannot Send Email Through Outlook Account

I installed Thunderbird 115.0.1 on Windows 11. I configured it for two accounts. One was a custom domain managed by Google, the second an Outlook account with my Office365 subscription.

Both receive mail fine. Neither would send mail. Investigating further I found that Thunderbird never got a firewall exception. I added the exception and now the Google account sends and receives fine. Outlook will still not send.

I've removed and re-added the Outlook account a couple of times now. No joy. I have found a lot of conflicting information on SMTP server settings but currently have the queried (auto configured) smtp.office365.com server on port 587 with my account credentials for login, connection security of 'STARTTLS' and authentication method of 'normal password'.

I've tried a couple of other email clients and they work out of the box. Any help would be appreciated.

What is with the pointless thick empty bar above the FILE menu area? (Highlighted RED in image) I removed the search bar as I don't often use it and prefer the traditional screen layout with FILE menu at the top of the program. Can I remove it? It's illogical and makes use of the program difficult.

I deleted both accounts and put them back in Thunderbird and still do not send email. They download all the emails and folders without a problem.

what should I do to make them work on Thunderbird?

Is it possible to edit the Subject line in an incoming message?

Let me explain. I send an email with a Subject line that is relevant to the message. Some weeks or months later, the recipient decides they need to email me about a different subject. Rather than opening a compose window and typing a Subject that is appropriate to the new message, they simply find the old message from me, and click on Reply. So when I receive that reply, it still has the old Subject line. This plays havoc with my filing system, and makes it virtually impossible for me to find the message at a later time. This happens surprisingly often.

I know I can select "Edit as new message". This opens the message in a compose window, from where I can edit the Subject. The problem is, when I then save the message, it shows my own email address in the From line rather than that of the person who sent it. This just adds to the difficulty of keeping track of messages.

I hope this makes sense. Thanks in advance for your help.

New Thunderbird Upgrade removes our ability to view Sent messages in Unified Mode

What is going on with the new TB client? I now have no access to my Sent mail. Nothing showing in Unified Sent mail and no more access to individual account sent folders. Major mistake upgrading. To elaborate, the Unified Send folder has never displayed sent messages and this is a known issue in bugzilla. But we have had the option to expand this folder to show the individual send folders in order to view sent messages. Now, there is no way to expand this folder, so the only way to view sent messages is to choose All Folders from Folders Mode. This defeats the purpose of Unified Folders. It's a step backwards. If there are no plans to address the Unified Send folder, then why was the option to expand it removed. Makes no sense.

I am unable to install add-ons for Thunderbird for my Chromebook that I have installed via the embedded Linux OS that's in Chromebook. Inside the app(Thunderbird), I go to addons.thunderbird.net and attempt to install an add-on and this box with this button inside it pops up and I have to click on that button to confirm installation of that add-on. Well, I try clicking on that button and nothing happens and that box doesn't go away. I enclosed a screenshot to give you an idea of what I'm talking about.
