There is one correspondent whose emails come in, flash on the screen for a second and then disappear. I find it in Junk. I've got the email addres whitelisted on my provider's filters. How can I intercept this process. It's only the one address. So far. Can I whitelist address on TB? I've got it set to not intercept anyone in my address book and this address is definitely inmy address book.

I am using Thunderbird in Windows 11 on an Intel NUC 12 computer. I am using Thunderbird in pop mail for gmail.com and mail.com. I save all important messages daily to Folders in Local Folders. Today I attempted to look for messages in one folder named Family and Friends and found that messages older than 2/14/2024 are missing. I checked other folders and found that they seem OK with messages going back 5 to 10 Years. I tried running repair but nothing changed. Any idea where these files can be? I do have backups of the app data for Thunderbird and am considering to try a prior version but I'm afraid I might lose new saved messages. If I tried to Archive messages, could this be the problem? I have looked in Archive and found very little. Any help would be appreciated. Frank

Please ignore this question. I found my older messages.

I had trouble updating my email accounts due to an issue with the profile update. The solution for me was to delete the 42 copies of the profile and basically start over. Now I need access to some of the folders where emails were locally stored. I know where on the computer fined the folders/files of the old emails. How do I import them into my current TB profile?

My email inbox is really a task list. I find that I email myself items that I need to work on so that they are in the inbox. It's a tiny thing, but it would be so much more convenient to be able to view/edit the task list alongside the email inbox. I organize my emails with the listing of emails full-height on the screen with the preview window to the right of that. I would like to be able to see the Task List to the right of the preview pane. At this point, it appears that only the Today pane can be shown there. This requested feature is supported in Outlook, but the Outlook "task list" is not as nice as Thunderbird's because their "tasks" are just emails that have been flagged - not very useful. Thanks for your consideration.

Just updated Tbird to ver. 115.3.1 and immediately noticed the more condensed appearance of emails in the inbox. Prior to update my inbox displayed fully on 1 screen and then I had to scroll down to see the last 10 or so. After the update all emails were visible on about 3/4 of a screen with no scrolling required. The problem is that this density makes for more difficult reading. I'm not sure if the font is smaller, but certainly the line spacing is smaller. Is there anyway to spread things out a bit? Thanks.

Hiya, Thunderbird has been working great, up until today when there was an automatic update. First I knew was when Thunderbird said it needed to restart. Since then it has not worked properly. It has updated itself to version 102.0.3 . I am getting two errors;

Error 1. It says xx messages downloaded but they are not showing anywhere.

Error 2. The account is being processed. Please wait until processing is complete to get messages.

If I restart Thunderbird, I at least get rid of error 2 for a while anyway and it does send and receive just cannot view said messages.

Any help appreciated. Greg

I have been using Thunderbird address book synchronized to Google contacts but it has stopped synchronizing this summer. I had been able to find new contacts in contacts.google.com add a label then later I found that they had synchronized and were in my various instances of Thunderbird.

This was working fine in the winter this year. But I added a contact this way in the summer and the contact has not appeared in any instance of Thunderbird Address book.

I am using Thunderbird 102.14.0 with Windows 7 and 10. But Linux may be using an older version Ubuntu is on version 102.15.0. The issue seems to have arisen this summer.

I disabled a few years ago; TbSync, Cardbook, Google-4-TbSync, Provider-4-CALDAV & CARDDAV, when Thunderbird Address book started to work with Yahoo and Gmail address books.

The only add-on that I use now is LT for grammar and spell checking.

I can't seem to export the "address book" to the "csv" format which I used to be able to. Any ideas?

WIN7 Starlink Internet Latest version of Thunderbird

Thunderbird stopped being able to send all of a sudden through gmail. I can receive messages fine. I keep getting an error about timing out on SMTP server. All server settings are correct per gmail's outgoing server page. It was working for a few minutes last night after hours of messing around with this issue then stopped again. I've installed another client and it worked for about an hour then stopped being able to send as well.

Things I've done: Delete profile (kept messages) - setup email again Uninstalled and reinstalled TB Completely disabled antivirus Increased time out in TB settings

Settings: smtp.gmail.com port 587 (tried 465 as well) Connection security: SSL/TLS Authentication: OAuth2

Driving me nuts because this is for my business and have to send emails through the gmail webpage.

Thanks for any direction!

I have spent the last two days trying to re-establish receiving/sending emails on my Apple MacBook Pro using Thunderbird without success. This problem developed suddenly about 3 or 4 days ago and only affects the MacBook, not any other device (I have an iMac and two iPads). I have gone through the instructions in Thunderbird's support pages and those in Mozilla with no success.

How do I fix this please? Would the easiest way be to simply delete the account xxxxxxx.gmail.com from Thunderbird on my MacBook and re-instate it by adding it back in?

All the setting for IMAP and SMTP are correct and the username/password is identical on all my devices.

Hello! I have the grey/italic problem that has been reported often here as well. I tried these solutions, but they didn't help: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1293067 https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1246828

I contacted the support of my email provider and he said that the problem is TB and not the IMAP server and I think he is right because logging in on the web the folder structure is fine and all messages are there.

so the final solutions was to reinstall TB. I did this first without deleting my user profile from the folder "roaming", but the problem persisted just the same way, and then I deleted the entire user profiles folder and the issue still exists. this means to me that this wasn't yet a clean new installation so that TB creates the folder structure completely new. To me It seems to me that TB is storing some information still on another location. Might this be?

So, how do I force TB to completely load from scratch the folder structure and it's content?

Best,

Wolfram

My wife and I have been using Thunderbird for many, many years and have never had a problem, even when migrating from one computer to another. A few weeks ago she became unable to connect and sync her email. The error message is:

"Sending of password for user xxxxxx@hotmail.com did not succeed. Mail server pop3.live.com responded Connection is closed 12."

She can get to her emails by going directly to outlook.com and using her email address and password. I have been through each setting in her Thunderbird profile and, since I have no problems, even compared it to the settings in my profile. We both have our own laptops, so that is a factor. I also tried disabling her antivirus software temporarily to see if that was interfering. As a last ditch effort, I backed up her emails and then deleted her email account in Thunderbird and re-created it. The same problem existed. She has a relatively new Lenovo laptop running Windows 10. Does anyone have any ideas or thoughts?

Thank you! JF
