I installed Thunderbird version 115.16.0

I created an enterprise policy file with the following policies:

  • AppAutoUpdate: false
  • AppUpdatePin: "115."
  • BackgroundAppUpdate: false
  • ManualAppUpdateOnly: true

With these policies in place, I expect Thunderbird to only suggest updating to the latest minor.patch version of 115 however as seen in the screenshot it is suggesting that I update to version 128.3.2, which is the next major version.

and erything was working gin until just recently, I have this issue all over again! I cannot afford to keep paying people to fix this all the time is this issue keeps popping up! Now I cannot received or send any outgoing mail!! THE MESSAGE SAYS: SEND MESSAGE ERROR, SENDING OF THE MESSAGE FAILED THE MESSAGE COULD NOT BE SENT BECAUSE THE CONNECTING TO THE OUTGOING SERVER (SMPT) stmp.mail.yahoo.com failed. I'm trying to follow the Mozilla instructions to move my profile to a new PC. I started copying the profile to a new (empty) 128 Gb flashdrive. Partway through, I got an error message that there wasn't enough room to copy my 9 Gb Inbox. I'd be very grateful if you can tell me how to fix this problem. Thanks!

It is so very very frustrating that thunderbird won't send my email and consistently asks me to enter my password. Each time I do that does NOT solve the problem. I've tried all the solutions I found on your site and others and nothing works. I do NOT want to switch email clients, but this is ridiculous and is not making things easier. I thought I'd switch from Outlook, but this is worse than the issues with Outlook. I really wish you would fix this once and for all. It appears this has been happening for well over a year. Please advise.

There is a bad Yahoo email address that pops up each time I compose an email to the same person, who has a new G-mail address. I've searched and searched for his old Yahoo address to delete it and it's nowhere to be found: All Address Books, Collected Addresses, Personal Address Book, etc.

Where else could I try? I'm using T-bird 115.14.0, 64-bit

I recently did a system recovery on one of my HP Windows 7 Pro notebooks and afterwards installed Thunderbird 115.12.2 64-bit on it as I have on another identical HP Windows 7 Pro notebook. I had exported the address books from the working notebook and when I imported them into the new system they show up under address and when I star any of the addresses contained in them Thunderbird completes the auto fill. However if I try to get the autofill to work by starting the names of the actual address books Thunderbird doesn't recognize the address books. Also, if I make a new address book and add names to it it will not be recognized with autofill. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I regularly send to the recipients of the address books. I was working with Tools->Message Filters to add another domain name into the account's e-mail address line vi the Edit... button. I did something I am clueless as to what it was, and now ALL an this account's INBOX contents are in JUNK

  • running a test send to this account, the incoming mail automatically goes into the JUNK folder.
  • JUNK now contains all INBOX contents (going back to 2014) as well as messages manually tagged as junk/spam
  • copying-pasting one or more Subject lines from JUNK to INBOX doesn't work
  • all mail stays in JUNK and nothing stays in INBOX
  • somehow it's as if I've made INBOX be a symbolic link to JUNK.
  • this happens on all my machines:

-- Mac running Monterey 12.6.1 with Thunderbird 115.10.1 (64-bit) -- Mac running Monterey 12.7.6 with Thunderbird 115.10.1 (64-bit) -- Mac running Sonoma 14.4 with Thunderbird 128.1.0esr (64 bit)

In this account's Tools->Message Filters, clicking Edit for SpamAssassinYes, and then not doing anything and simply clicking OK, a notifier window comes up stating:

Search Terms Invalid This filter cannot be saved because the search term "Junk Score Origin isn't" is invalid in the current context.

I've never intentionally edited the SpamAssassinYes Filter

HOW CAN I RESTORE INBOX TO FUNCTION CORRECTLY?

i just got a new laptop & installed the latest version of thunderbird mail on it but find the feature to select a bunch of emails & save them to pdf is missing again, last year i got help from you with an .api file for the above (subject) & it worked perfect but i tried using it on this latest version 128.0 & it said it's not compatibile??? any solution??? thanks

I have migrated to a new email account. Both my new and old accounts were on Thunderbird. Yesterday I moved to delete the account I am no longer using. When I did this I was given the option of keeping my email folders---I have, or had, a lot of old emails I wanted to keep. So I selected to delete the account but keep the folders. When I hit the remove button all the folders disappeared.

Can anyone help? I am hoping to folders are still on my hard drive, can they be recovered and put into my new email on the computer? I am using a MacBook Air.
