When the upgrade was installed the setip dialogue box came up, and it defaulted to IMAP. Once the account was setup I lost all my emails. I was using a POP server. Subsequntly I was able to locate the file in my MAC inder the Thunderbird->Mail->Local Folders as an 'inbox' file (~10GB). How does one 'restore' this in Thunderbird? Help needed please and will be very much appreciated.

Been using TB for years and was happily syncing my Google calendar using TbSync and Provider for CalDav & Cardav. That's been working fine for many months. Updated 78 to 91 today and I'm seeing nothing on my calendar page. My Google calendar appears in the Calendar list on the left and I pressed the 'Enable' button as requested. Have also right clicked on it and selected 'Synchronize Calendars'. However, the Calendar display remains completely empty.

I guess I've missed something obvious but any help would be appreciated. Thanks

This new version, 91.0, now opens PDF files in a new Thunderbird tab. In previous versions, I could open PDF files in Acrobat Reader DC.

I want to still use Acrobat Reader DC to open PDF files. I can't find anything in preferences to direct PDF files to Acrobat Reader DC. When I right-click "open" on a PDF file, it does not give me the option to choose a program to open it with. It opens directly into a new Thunderbird tab.

From Victoria, BC, Canada: my email server, Telus, forced me to a "mandatory upgrade" which preserves my old address, but makes me to go through Google. During the difficult "transition", I was told that the new system would not support Thunderbird. What is going to happen to my extensive record (correspondence, saved articles, address books etc)? Will I still be able to access this history or will it all have to be transferred to f.ex. the cloud - I have a Dropbox account.???? Desperately

Hello,

I cannot find a way to get the email addresses from the past sent emails like with Mailspring. These emails were not sent with thunderbird, so there was no automatic collection of those emails.

I saw some extensions to crawl through email adresses, but they aren't supported anymore on the latest versions of thunderbird.

Exporting contacts from yahoo, gmail ... is not an option, because there is almost nothing to export. Also introducing manually each email address isn't an option neither.

I am using Thunderbird 91.1.0 and always update to latest stable. I am on Windows 10.

If someone has a way to do this and without malware risk, it would be very interesting. Thanks.

Hi. I have been using Mozilla Thunderbird for years on my PC, getting email there from both Comcast and gmail. My PC suddenly died. I have a new all-in-one PC arriving today. TELUS in canada has Forced me to switch to Gmail. I've spent 10 HOURS trying to get this working beyond frustrated!!

Basically I set up thunderbird with the settings given by telus and the following is occuring.

[Thunderbird]

- Receiving emails thru thunderbird - WORKING - Sending Emails thru thunderbird - NOT WORKING. Shows they are SENT (in thunderbird) but in if I go to Gmail it's not in the SENT folder.

"An error occurred while sending mail: The mail server sent an incorrect greeting: mtlp000083 cmsmtp ESMTP server not available." when sending email thru thunderbird

- I can SEND and COMPOSE/SEND a message and it will receive to thunderbird. Messages composed in gmail will show it's in the SENT folder in gmail.

PLEASE HELP! I've spent over 10 HOURS now doing everything I can. Telus support has not completely stopped helping me as it's not there end.. I have no idea what to do..

Following the recent upgrade to 91.1.0 (from 78.13.0) Thunderbird no longer shows an icon in the system tray when a new email is detected.

I have the server settings so that Thunderbird does not download emails automatically. On detection of an email on the server, the name of the mailbox turns blue and a sound is played but the icon is absent. The icon only appears once the email is downloaded from the server AND the email remains in the inbox after filtering. If the email goes through a filter there is no icon shown. This seems rather to defeat the purpose of the system tray notification.

I find the system tray notification very useful as a quick visual check, especially if I've been away for a while and haven't heard the sound. Otherwise I have to open the application up to check the colour of the mailbox.

Filters don't always work on new messages in the Inbox.

Most of my filters are set to look for specific "From" entries then move them to the appropriate folders for each message. When email is downloaded from the server some filters work, but some hang up and require me to click on the displayed message to acknowledge that message. Once all the acknowledgements have been done, and while I am still in the Inbox, I then click on "Tools/Run Filters on Folder" and ALL of the messages that did not originally get moved to the correct folders per the filters set for them, now work beautifully!

Why won't some filters work when first run on Inbox, but they work later, and how can I avoid the laborious manual response requirement for those that don't work the first time? I should add that there is no consistency to which filters run, or do not run. Even when I go to the folder for a message that did not get moved to that folder, and "fix" that folder, some future messages still don't get moved the first time through running filters when those messages arrive in the Inbox.

I have a number of local folders and set up rules to send certain emails to certain folders. In one folder (and only one), emails show up when unread. However, after reading an email and switching to another folder, when I go back to that folder no emails appear, even if I did not delete the "read" email and even though the folder shows that I have over 70 emails in that folder. All my other local folders work correctly.

Is there some setting I inadvertently set that could be causing this problem? I already tried "Repair Folder" and nothing changed.

I am not able to disable SpamAssassinYes filter. If I remove it then when I close and open TB the SpamAssassinYes filter is still there. If I disable it then when I close and open TB the SpamAssassinYes filter is still there. If I move down then when I close and open TB the SpamAssassinYes filter is still there.

I'd like to disable it since keeps to move messages in spam folder even if those messages are not spam and even if I keep mark them as "not spam".

I think this is a bug, since I am not able to remove SpamAssassinYes filter I would like to teach it that a message is NOT SPAM.

I updated TB to 78.12 two days ago and have not been able to start it. I restarted my PC a few times and tried Safe Mode for both Windows 10 starting and TB to no avail. Installing V78.11 solved the problem instantly. Everything is back to normal now. I wonder if anyone else has experienced the same.

BTW, I cannot find a button to click to ask a question. I had to search the Internet and find this link to ask this question: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/new/thunderbird/form Could anyone shed some light on this?
