Windows 10, Thunderbird 95.5.1 Long time happy user. However, address book is about 4,000 personal and 4,000 collected, after all these years. I would like to slim-down the collected data - so that I can sync the smaller address books with with new cell - Android 12 SO - I exported to .csv reviewed the listings and deleted deadwood. Maintaining same format as the export - I am ready to turn it around and import the much-smaller .csv of edited addresses. Now, I would like to remove all of the old addresses in the existing book - and import the slimmed-down .csv files I have prepared. How to do this? I have simple computer skills - and was hoping not to have to get into the internals - is there a recommended procedure for: cleaning out the old book(s) - and then importing from .csv? Thank you! I followed instructions posted on a TB fourm on how to generate an app password in order for my TB to work with AOL. I'm receiving mail in Thunderbird but can't send. I suspect that I may not have followed the instructions completely and would like to start over. Do I need to delete the AOL generated password on AOL and create a new one or just create a new one for the outgoing server? Would appreciate any help! JD

Hi- when I open TB, I get the enter password box. I found out today that if I leave blank & then hit cancel or the red X, Thunderbird still opens. How can I change that unless I enter the correct password? The password box opens after that to ask for my pop.gmail.com password, which is fine. I can see that entering that password retrieves new, unread messages & permits me to compose & send new mail, etc....

Frequently, when I've used Thunderbird to 'Detach' an attachment from a message on Yahoo's mail server, the entire message just disappears! It's not in Trash, just gone for good, and it don't show up when using Yahoo's web interface either. I've noticed this behavior when detaching from Sent messages, not sure about Inbox.

I more often do this maintenance for my FastMail account, which has a quota, so I probably should just remember to stop doing that with Yahoo, but it's puzzling. I've never seen that happen with any other mail server. I'm curious if this is a known issue.

I am unable to access my e-mail account using Thunderbird. I just updated Thunderbird to ver. 91.5.1, but the problem was occurring under version 91.5.0. Following the Thunderbird help instructions, I successfully removed my mail account. Now, I am unable to recreate the mail account. Using <Tools|Account Actions|Add Mail Account> I entered the data to describe my current mail account on AOL.com. I can successfully retrieve my mail on AOL.com. When I attempt to set up the new mail account in Thunderbird, I get the message: "Unable to log in at server. Probably wrong configuration, username, or password." I am using Firefox 96.0.2. I do not have a firewall. I successfully uninstalled MalwareBytes.Free. I do not understand what I is going on.

Help! ... I now use Yahoo Mail accounts on Thunderbird. I keep getting a window pop-up: "Server imap.mail.yahoo.com has disconnected." and Thunderbird stops working. This has been going on for over a month and I thought re-addressing AuthO2 thru Yahoo Accounts would have stopped these pop-up windows, but nope. This is frustrating as I use Thunderbird for our business as well as personal. I have to constantly reboot Thunderbird to get it working again for around 10 minutes before it goes down again & I have to re-boot. What's going on here? The complete message in window pop-up reads: [ Server imap.mail.yahoo.com has disconnected. The server may have gone down or there may be a network problem. ] I've never had this problem with Gmail accounts or Verizon accounts before we transferred accounts to Yahoo & I've been using Thunderbird for over 25 years. Please help, as I need a stable e~mail program for our business. Would appreciate it & thank you in advance. goCaT

I am trying to send encrypted emails. I added the public key of the recipient in openPGP key manager and set them Trusted.

From "write message" windows, if i click on security--> view security infos, it shows the status ok for the receipient.

However, when i click sent button, it fails. The error console is logging "no suitable subkey found for encrypt", however as you can see from the screen shots, the encryption subkey is there.

If i sent signed emails (with my private key) or unencrypted emails, Thunderbird works fine. Also encrypting files externally with Kleopatra (using the same public keys) also works fine.

I am using Thunderbird v 91.5.0 64-bit on Linux Mint 20.3 Cinnamon and kernel version 5.13.0.27.

Any help is appreciated.

Hi all, I have two computers both running Windows 10 and both have Thunderbird 78.14.0 but one of computers is running Thunderbird 78.14.0 (64-bit) whilst the other is running 78.14.0 (32-bit). The one running the 32 bit works fine and prints everything no problem but the PC running the 64 bit has a horrible layout and the messages that are saved in the sent folder look different and printing is horrible. Is this an issue with the 64 or 32 bit or is it something that is different in the settings. If I downgraded to 32 bit would that solve the problem ? If so, how to I downgrade Thunderbird from 64 to 32 bit ? Thank you.

The account that's picked is at the top of my mailbox window, so I presume I can make the desired change by moving my preferred account to the top--but how do i do this?

I'm running Win 10 21H1 and Thunderbird 91.5.0.

I have two verizon.net email accounts. I used Thunderbird to download them to my laptop.

One email stopped working a while ago, now my other one also stopped working yesterday.

I do not have a cell phone so I can not do that 2 version account verification (or whatever it is called on aol).

I am happy to give you details if you will HELP. Laptop, Windows 10, Google Chrome, Thunderbird 91.5.1 (64-bit)

AOL has NO way online to get help unless you pay and upgrade. VERY bad customer service. They should allow emailing when people have problems.

I am thinking of dumping both AOL/Verizon and Thunderbird. TIA Elsie

Since my Thunderbird updated to 91.2.1 today, provider for google calander (91.0.2) asked me to log in to google account again but returns Error 403: rate_limit_exceeded.

I'm also really annoyed that somehow automatic updates have been switched on without me knowing. I've had them disabled for ages and was getting prompts to update. If I'd have know a major change was coming, and been prompted, I'd have waited.

Hello,

I am using Thunderbird on both Linux and Windows and ran into the same problem on both OS after installing updating to Version 91.5.0.

Under preferences I have "Always ask" enabled for PDF-Files because I want to be able to choose the action depending on the document. I have the same config for Docx-Files.

When I click on a pdf - it opens a promt where I am asked what I want to do with the document - "Open with" or "Save" and no option is pre-selected. If I then press enter, nothing happens. I have to manually click on one of the two options and then press enter or "OK" to confirm the action.

With docx for example, it works perfectly. I get the same prompt but "Save File" is pre-selected. I can press enter and another prompt about the saving location opens.

I am guessing this is a bug since I only found this issue with Pdf-Files but if it is not, please let me know where to configure this option so it auto-selects "Save File" in the prompt.

Thanks in advance for any answer!
