On Aug 14 2022 I was receiving email just fine via Thunderbird. As of Aug 16 2022 I am getting the error UID Fetch Failed. I saw a few similar posts but nothing resolving the receive message error. It shows the number of unread messaged on my optimum account but cannot return them to the Thunderbird Inbox

IMAP Server: mail.optimum.net Server Port 993 SSL/TLS

No issues with outgoing mail. SMTP Server: mail.optimum.net Server Port: 465 SSL/TLS

Hi Forum Folke!

Since I updated Tbird recently (running 102.1.2), a lot of my emails are coming prefaced with "****SPAM****" and while some of them *are* spam, many of them are not, and I'd like to find out how to tell Tbird that these emails are NOT spam, and get them re-classified, or removed from the "spam" category in future emails. Any idea how to go about this? Thanks!

Hi. Thunderbird did an update the other day and now when I print an email it is very small. I have tried increasing size in print preview etc but it still prints small. Before the update the printing was great and we could read it. But now very small. Hope you can help. Thanks Debbie

I cannot send or forward E-mails using Thunderbird. It started about 10 days ago. The same error occurs when sending E-mails to Gmail.com, Msn.com and other accounts and E-mails addresses. I can send E-mails to myself and then use my cell phone

The following is part of the error message: Thanks.

Your message to en_fuego18@hotmail.com couldn't be delivered. Your message contains invalid characters (bare line feed characters) which the email servers at hotmail.com don't support. rsinclai Office 365 en_fuego18 Action Required Recipient

Bare line feeds unsupported

How to Fix It It appears that your email program added invalid characters (bare line feed characters) into your message when you sent it. Try using a different email program to send your message. If the problem continues send this non-delivery report (NDR) message to your email admin for assistance.

Tried to use update in TBird, from 91.12.0 to 102.1.2 won't complete. It keeps coming up requesting a restart to update. I'm stuck with all panels blank. Have tried clearing cache, restarting TBird, rebooting computer. Antivirus and firewall are set to allow TB update to run, logs show connections are going through unhindered. OS: Win10

There seem no option to abort the update and down rev. to prior.

Any help is appreciated.

Verizon once worked properly and let me send email, but it stopped being able to do that. Verizon could not explain why or remedy this.

   Therefore, I keep the Verizon address for the sake of old contacts to reach me, but I do not and cannot use it to send out anything.

Because I use to work at Brandeis, they providing me with an email address. However they will discontinue it by the end of the month

     to make sure I'll continue to receive Verizon mail once the Brandeis address is gone. 

I wrote an explanation before but made it too complex. The above is the basic problem.

I had already post this problem recently, but in spite of Thunderbird already had two interim point releases 102.1.1 and today's 101.1.2, this problem remains.

This situation did not occur in older versions, and I cannot use pop3 access to AOL email account with "normal password" (encrypted). For the time being, I am accessing AOL web mail using Firefox.

I tried unsuccessfully all other authentication methods, so no authentication method is working with AOL.

This is the Thunderrbird error I get when using OAuth2 authentication method:

"The server does not support the selected authentication method. Please change the 'Authentication method' in the 'Account Settings | Server settings".

It is not true, AOL does support the OAuth2 authentication method.

Hi. Been using TB for about 8 months and recently updated from version: 102.1.1 (I think) to current version: 102.1.2 (64-bit) Hopefully I'll get help with my SMTP problem that sometimes manifested itself some time ago, but now I can't send any mail for weeks with my most used mail account via my proximus server. However, we are able to send emails with our gmail accounts! Receiving emails works perfectly. When sending the mails, status message hangs on 'progress' for a long time and then gives an error message: "Sending message failed because outgoing (SMTP) server relay.proximus.be has failed. The server may be unavailable or may refuse SMTP connections. Check the settings

Tried unsuccessfully in the meantime:

  • Connections have been checked several times and are in order.
  • Sending mail via the web server itself: works!

Also tried to fix it by:

  • completely delete my proximus account in TB, reboot & then reinstall: same error message remains!
  • requested a new password via proximus server: no result.

Through 'troubleshooting mode' I get a new error message: "Your TB profile could not be loaded. It may not be present or inaccessible"

Already asked for help regarding the SMTP problems (which originally was the issue) but so far have not received any help. Soon I will have to stop TB because I have to send all mails via web server: not really workable anymore

Oh boy. I use Thunderbird as my limited company business email account. Have not received any emails since 12th August. I realize that I set up a message filter to delete a certain sender but set it up to delete all emails (senior moment, ugh!). This is a POP3 account with the intention of keeping all received emails and archiving the old ones off at annual intervals. The deleted emails are not in the deleted folder, presumably they are deleted before they even reach the email account. As this is a POP3 account these emails are presumably still on the server, can these emails be recovered?

I have been using Thunderbird for my Spectrum emails for quite some time. Within the last week it stopped receiving my emails. This was before or after the last updates. Now at update 102.1.2 64bit version. I have uninstalled and reinstalled When setting up my account it did confirm that the server was connected. Thunderbird. I have also checked with my ISP to ensure that all server settings are correct. I have also tried trying settings that worked in the past such as using POP3 instead of IMAP. I also reduced my IMAP from 3 to 1 as advised in the help topics. None of these have worked. If anybody has an idea please share.

My laptop kept getting slower, so I uninstalled some programs that I wasn't using, to try to gain HD space and hopefully speed up my machine.

Firebird was one of the pieces of software that I uninstalled. I don't know if I uninstalled Thunderbird at the same time, but I lost Thunderbird and all my emails.

I re-installed Thunderbird. To my surprise, all of the settings for my email server were there, etc, along with a few emails. I have a FEW emails from 2021, but of course, not any that I really want. All the important emails, I lost.

I thought I was saving my emails (somewhere) to my computer, so if something like this did happen, I would hopefully have my emails back, but I am not finding any emails.

Would emails be in "mbox" ? If not, what file type are Thunderbird emails?

Thank you for any help you can give me. I am destroyed with the emails that I lost.
