Sirs: I can logon to Thunderbird but WILL NOT stay on! I downloaded Thunderbird Setup 146.0.1.exe and it still has the same problem. I have been used T'bird for at least 5-8 years and this is the first issue that I have had. I also contribute to Mozilla as I did yesterday. I also Mozilla search engine.

Please share some details on how I may repair this issue. [edited from public forum] @friendlycity.net If we have to uninstall, can I retain my address book?

Thank you... Ron Lawhon

I do not know why but since yesterday I don't have the Orange Box in my Thunderbird home page to create a new message. I have to go into account and click on new message ( with a pen icon ). How do I get the orange box back. I have the orange area in the other pages like addresses, calendar, and the like, but not for new messages. How could I get it back because I installed a new copy of Thunderbird but it did not work. Thank you.

After a couple of years just receiving emails on my phone, I decided to sort out how to send them. I see that the Thunderbird App can be installed simply by pointing phone at desk top screen QR code. I clicked onto Thunderbird Settings/Export for Mobile then clicked 'export' and got request for Username and Password, but have not got these to hand and don't know where to find them. Tried various answers on Google to no avail. Photo of 'Windows Security, Mozilla Thunderbird' request box appears below (hopefully) Thank you

I have created a series of named folders on my thunderbird home screen and I move incoming messages into each folder according to subject matter. I set up a folder named it BUPA some months ago and moved all incoming emails relevant into this folder. Now I have discovered that this folder does not appear under my list of folders on my home page and it has dissappeared. I do not know how this took place but I assume that this collection must still be on yourserver and if so can be restored to me. I would be most grateful if you could assist me with this problem.

It very important to me to be abler to Turn OFF Dark mode when a recent TB update defaulted to that mode.

Why? Because I have vision problems. So I run everything under Windows' "High Contrast" mode, which changes all displayed colors and backgrounds.

Given that is how my system is set, Windows "flips" your new Dark Mode into a light and low contrast image that I cannot easily read.

SO For users like me who must depend on Windows High Contrast settings, everything is fine as long as Thunderbird retains the option to TURN OFF DARK MODE. Please be sure to maintain this option Forever, or TB will become unusable to users like me.

Thank you.

Thunderbird 138/139, Windows 11 Pro 23H2. While composing a message, after a few lines the app freezes. Both the compose window and the main TB window freeze. Only opening the Windows Task manager allows me to close them. This did not happen with earlier versions.

If I save the message every few seconds while composing I can get most of the message back and continue after restarting TB. This behavior is the same in both the normal and troubleshooting TB modes. I can't even find a crash log to send to Mozilla.

Where shall I look next?

Thank you!

There's a community of people who need to be able to turn off single key shortcuts. I'm one of them because I use some speech input, and a stray word from you or an office mate when the focus is in the wrong place can cause a lot of havoc that's difficult to undo. You can also get in trouble when typing – hitting a stray "a" can archive something without you realizing it, and this has happened to me as well. A cat going across the keyboard can also cause an awful lot of havoc that's difficult to track down and reverse. If we could simply turn off single key shortcuts, that would go a long way toward solving this problem. Even better if we could remap them. There is an extension that does this but it's aimed at developers and also requires full control of your computer, which removes is as an option for more people. I think you'd make many people happy building in something simpler -- alternate keybindings for single key shortcuts, a setting to turn the single key shortcuts off, or, best yet, the ability to remap them. Thanks for listening, and thanks for a great product! Best, Kim

We have poor eyesight, so in vertical display mode, we could really benefit from having grid lines (at least horizontally) to visually distinguish each message. We have read various solutions on the Internet, but none seems to work at least not in dark theme mode, which is the default for a great many people with vision impairments (or just plain tired eyes). Perhaps some solutions that once worked have been uprooted, so to speak, during the course of Thunderbird updates.

We are used to having grid lines in Outlook (desktop). We are currently exploring switching to Thunderbird, but it needs to support our vision needs. For us, this capability is fundamental, not optional.

We are comfortable making config entries, creating and working in userChrome.css, and the like. We would be grateful for any guidance in this regard.

Thank you kindly!

Since eclipse 140+ rolled out there is no longer a high contrast colour override, I dug through all the settings in case it was moved but I am either not seeing it or it's not there anymore. Does anyone have an option or work around for enabling high contrast without me having to roll back my version or install a different email client?
