When writing an email and i try to press attach button, nothing happens and i cant attach file that way. Drag and drop works. This came after updating thunderbird to latest versio 157, earlier attach button worked fine. Any solutions to this problem?

Thunderbird flatpak -1.0 I recently lost the ability to attach files of any kind to messages. when I click the button to attach, no option to choose messages from files are available. I cannot go to the file and share with Thunderbird. I cannot copy a file and attach it. I have tried restarting Thunderbird, and my system (Po_OS Linux) with no result. thanks for the assistance!

Since the Thunderbird update of 30 Sept the ability to attached files to my emails has 'vanished'. I press the attach 'button' but there is no response. Never had this as a problem before. I am running Windows 11 home version. Help!

Seit kurzen kann ich beim senden einer Nachricht keinen Anhang mehr hinzufügen, es öffnet sich kein Auswahlfenster mehr, was am 8.09.26 das letzte mal noch funktionierte. Weder über die Büroklammer, noch übers Menü Datei-Anhängen-Datei(en). Es passiert einfach Nichts.

In der Update-Chronik sehe ich am 19.09.26 ein Update auf 153.1.1esr !? Habe deshalb das neueste Update 153.4.0esr heruntergeladen und installiert, aber ohne Erfolg.

Hat jemand ne Idee? Ausgerechnet jetzt wo ich in den nächsten Tagen die Funktion dringend bräuchte...

As of the latest update, the attachment toolbar button in a new mail window does....nothing. Nada. Click it, nothing. I have to drag the attachments from (say) Desktop to the new message window. Works, but...so should the toolbar buttons, which used to.

Tried turning off all addons (i.e., troubleshooting mode) - made no difference.

For years I have been attaching message files, pics., etc. by clicking the Attach button and browsing to the target. Now I have to drag and drop the attachments as the Attach click is useless.

Suddenly I can't attach images (or anything) to outgoing emails. I do this a lot and it worked fine all day yesterday, then stopped in the evening. When I click the Attach button, nothing happens. I've deleted 1000s of emails and compacted the folders, nada. My Thunderbird is up to date v153.4 on Win 10. Any ideas? Thanks, Andy.

Musste einen Beitrag für Zeitschrift verfassen, lässt sich nicht an Mail anhängen. Sowohl "Anhängen" wie auch "anbei" reagiert nicht. Wie kann ich meinen Abgabe-Termin dennocheinhalten??? Mail funktioniert, aber Anhang fehlt natürlich

Just recently, the "Attach" button in the top right corner of emails in Thunderbird has stopped working. You can click it but it will not open a window to select a file to attach. Similarly, the yellow reminder bar will not allow attachments to be selected.

However, it is still possible to attach a file by dragging and dropping from an open older in Windows Explorer.

The version of Thunderbird I am running is Thunderbird 153.4.0esr (64-bit) [showing as up to date] running on OS Windows 11 Home Version 25H2.

I tried removing the button and then reinstating it (a fix suggested online) but this had no affect. I also checked in properties that the Run as Administrator box was not ticked.

Another fix suggested on line was to rename the file xulstore.json as xulstore.json.old, but this did not solve the problem either.

Any help in solving this problem would be appreciated. Thanks.
