Google 400. That's an error.

Everything was completely fine up until this update!

While I was checking emails on my POP3 gmail account I was sending some unwanted and older messages one by one to the trash folder after checking that they were indeed for trash, when suddenly the whole inbox moved to become a sub-folder in the trash folder. I tried simply moving the inbox folder back to where it should be but it will not move. I checked the inbox folder properties and the path is directing it to trash. I tried editing that path to delete the /trash element but I can not change that path. mailbox:///home/barbara/.thunderbird/jzlrnnn0.default-release/Mail/pop.gmail-2.com/Trash.sbd/Inbox See also screen shot attached I checked the mozilla/thunderbird help pages for any info about this problem and found nothing specifically addressing moving a folder from trash back to its rightful place. How do I fix this and get my inbox back to where it should be. As a sub-question, what happened and why, and how to stop that ever happening again?

Good morning!

Previously, when viewing an article in an RSS feed, if I double-clicked the header in the article list, Thunderbird would open the article in a new window in the client. After one of the recent (~6 months) update, I get a blank page or possibly a thumbnail image of something (very small). I have to click the link to open the article in my browser.

Is there a setting somewhere that directs Tbird to open the web page in the client vs. not? I looked at the "Allow remote content in messages" setting but it doesn't seem to affect this situation.

Can someone please help me here?

I am running 64-bit Thunderbird Supernova (115.5.0) on Windows 7 Home Premium with SP1.

I am working on my own set of tools to manage the message filters in the "msgFilterRules.dat" file and I am looking for documentation on how the message filters are constructed and what values can appear/be used within them.

I have tried searching around the internet for this but have not been able to find anything like what I was looking for - can anyone here help point me in the right direction please?

I have recently upgraded to 102, and am not planning to go to 115 for a long time.

A major issue for me with 102 is when composing/writing emails. Now that all my recipients addresses go into the one field, as soon as there are more than 2-3 addresses the To: (or CC or BCC) box expands downwards, pushing everything else down. I often write to up to 20 people at once, and the box becomes huge, the subject line is at the bottom of the screen, and there is only a small space showing where the message can be written.

In previous versions, a long list of recipients scrolled up and down, and therefore kept a static size, and everything else stayed in their places.

How can I stop the To: box becoming enormous?

Using a mailmerge addon is not an option. I do use groups of addresses (in the address book) for some things, but not always, and it is not appropriate for many emails. My preference would be to find some hidden option that allows the box to scroll on 1-2 lines.

I can use chromecss, if the code is provided for me to copy (I don't understand the syntax in general to write my own). I did have a working file going when I upgraded, so it may have something in it that is causing problems, but I am not savvy enough to find it.

I have looked quite thoroughly, and can't find anyone else who has mentioned this as a problem. I find it the most annoying issue in the upgrade for me.

Don't laugh but I currently run Windows XP SP3 on a 15 year old Acer laptop using amongst other things MicroSoft Outlook 2003. The system is totally reliable but I felt it prudent to upgrade before something broke and now have a Surface laptop running Windows 11 23H2.

With Outlook 2003 I found a program called MessageSave which is an add-on. This allows me to save messages out of Outlook 2003 into separate project directories/folders. Thus each project directory contains all the information on that particular project together with all associated emails. This means that once that project is archived all information pertaining to it is securely saved in one place.

I forgo Windows Internet Explorer sometime ago for Firefox and did not want to use the latest version of Outlook, therefore I am trialing Thunderbird.

To your knowledge is there an add-on for Thunderbird which will enable me to save messages out of the program and in my individual project directories.

Many thanks

Graham

And TB now, in particular. When I tried to write an email. The message screen only shows "send later". There is NO "send" option.

So, what happened?

Hello Everybody!

I've installed Portable Thunderbird and updated it to version 115.5.0 (32 bit). Unfortunately for me I had a media failure and cannot access e-mails stored locally. I'm using POP3 access to GMail and I have about couple hundreds of e-mails that I've downloaded with old Thunderbird. I wonder, is it possible to force Thunderbird to re-read existing e-mails and if possible how this can be done. New income mail is processed correctly.

Thank you in advance. With best regards, Nick Sorokin e-mail: Nick.Sorokin@gmail.com

Have TB 115.3.3 on Win11. I have my messages set to open as tabs. Previously, if I needed a message to open in a separate window, I would click "More" in the upper right of the message window itself, and it would open in a new window that I could then position next to another app to reference the content.

Since v115, that option in More has disappeared, and I can't figure out where it went. Is it still possible to do? Can someone please help me?

Thank you!

My unified folders are properly picking up e-mails from my account except for the SENT unified folder. The unified SENT folder is empty. I've checked the Properties settings, and they are correct (the same setup as the other unified folders which are working). I've attached a view to illustrate the problem. As can be seen from the attachment, the account's SENT folder has 121MB of message data while the unified folder is empty. Also shown is that the account's SENT folder has been selected in the unified folder Properties settings which should bring in the account's 121MB of data in it's SENT folder, which it apparently doesn't do for some reason.

Any suggestions to correct the problem would be welcome.

I am trying to set up 3 yahoo email addresses in Thunderbird for myself and my family. I was able to set up the first one (mine) successfully using Thunderbird's email setup wizard which uses Oauth, but when I try to set up their email addresses, for some reason it redirects the Oauth login to my email address, so even though my family's email addresses are set up, they end up downloading my emails, so all email addresses download the same emails. I have never experienced this problem before and hope someone can help.

Previously I could hit a little arrow on the download messages button that showed a list of my email addresses, and then I'd select one and get the messages for it.

Now there is a button to download all messages.

There is also the same button that appears when you highlight an email address, but clicking it downloads messages from all the email addresses on that server, not just the email address I selected.

How do I get messages for one single email address, regardless if I have several email addresses from the same server? I've tried customizing the toolbar but I don't see anything relevant.

Version 115.4.3 seems to have eliminated the Mail Toolbar altogether. The “Unified Toolbar” support page at https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/unified-toolbar refers to a “Tabs Bar” which is not part of the standard Thunderbird vocabulary (there is a “Tab Strip” at https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-customize-toolbars#w_how-do-i-sh.... If you keep changing the toolbars and the vocabulary, you are going to confuse everyone, including yourselves. Now the user cannot customize the Menu Bar (or the Unified Toolbar), so the main buttons on the Mail Toolbar (Get Messages, Write, Chat, Tag, QuickFilter, Address Book etc.) are just not there. There is also no visible way to display the Mail Toolbar. It seems that in their desperate indecision as to whether the Menu Bar or the Mail Toolbar should be on top, the developers of Thunderbird decided to eliminate the Mail Toolbar altogether. What an unfortunate decision. Give us back our Mail Toolbar!'

The error message is: Sending of the message failed. Unable to authenticate to Outgoing server (SMTP) smtp.office365.com. Please check the password and verify the 'Authentication method' in 'Account Settings | Outgoing server (SMTP)'.

Since the update my emails all look incredibly weird in Thunderbird. Right now it has who the email is from with the subject below it and now, all the way to the right, it has when it was sent. I used to be able to see more information and it was easier to view. As I use this for work, as our work server is horrendous, I really could use some help. I have looked over my option in View but that has not helped much.

Hi,

Just installed Windows 11.

Now, none of my email accounts (all Gmail) are showing up in any of the folders. I have deleted the 'global-message-do.SQLite' and *.msf' files and restarted, still to no avail.

Not that I expected much, but a reinstall of Thunderbird, didnt help either. I dont think removing the accounts and reconnecting will do anything either. I can see the emails downloading again, and new emails are coming in, but I can not see the new or old emails.

Any ideas?

Cheers.
