‘spam filters do not work. After 18 years of putting up with it I want block senders and sender ip's WHAT IS UP? WHY DON"T YOU FIX THIS - Do I have to go to M$oft?????’ for ‘Thunderbird’

my contacts are all in the personal address book convinced they get filtered as NOT SPAM, recently some addresses out of my adressbook get filtered anyway - weird an expert told me to setup a whitelist as a subfolder: I did but same prob... as far I know the address book works like a whitelist anyway, no success also not long ago thunderbird had an update - and it feels since the dodgy filtering started. This happens regardless of whether message is moved to trash or junk folder. My concern are this also marks spam, phishing and/or malicious emails read which allows read receipt to be sent when enabled. I don't want to be forced to use remove immediately or disable read receipt option to ensure these messages are deleted unread.

I am getting hundreds of emails a day from the following: Mailer-Daemon@gator3303.hostgator.com with this subject: Mail delivery failed: returning message to sender How do I stop this? Thanks

Sending of the message failed. An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: Your message has been rejected because you have been detected sending high likelyhood spam.. Please check the message and try again.

This is the message I get everytime I try to send and email.

When Thunderbird "thinks" a message is Spam the spam option on the header is already grayed out, is it ok to delete it then and if it is learning what is spam, how come I continue to get spam email from the same senders?

Hi, I'm using Version 140.12.1e (64b). Is there any way to block and delete undesirable E-Mails om my Incoming box ? Even while being marked 'Undesirable', they stil coming again. Is there a way to erase them automatically ? Many thanks, Have a good day, Dan

In previous versions of Firefox it was easy to create a filter. Not anymore. I want to allow trusted addresses to come into my Inbox without going into Spam. Even when I follow (Google's AI) instructions exactly, all my medical information goes to Spam AND the trusted filter I created seems to have blocked dozens of browser choices in DIY sites, among others.

is there any way old emails can be retreived after deleting them to the bin. I thought sending them to the bin folder still retained them in archive status, but trying to look back more than the 3 months current in & out boxes They don't appear to be there

Subject: Thunderbird 152 – IMAP Junk messages are not automatically moved to Spam (T-Online IMAP) I am using Thunderbird 152 on Windows 11 with a Deutsche Telekom (T-Online) IMAP account. Problem When I manually mark a message as Junk (toolbar button, context menu or Junk column), the message briefly disappears from the Inbox and immediately reappears. It is marked as Junk, but it is not moved to the Spam folder. If I disable the option "Move new junk messages to:", the message remains in the Inbox and is marked as Junk, without the brief disappearance. Manual Move to → Spam always works correctly. Environment • Windows 11 • Thunderbird 152 • T-Online IMAP • ESET Internet Security • Only one Spam folder exists on the T-Online server. Troubleshooting already performed • Created a completely new IMAP account. • Verified Junk settings. • Verified the Spam folder path: imap://...@secureimap.t-online.de/Spam • Manual move to Spam works correctly. • Rebuilt the folder cache. • Recreated folderTree/folder cache files. • Performed IMAP resynchronization. • Tested with ESET mail protection enabled and disabled (no change). • Checked profile configuration. • Verified that the IMAP server directory setting does not change the behaviour. Additional observation The profile contains two IMAP cache directories: • secureimap.t-online.de • secureimap.t-online-1.de The current IMAP directory does not contain local Spam/Junk cache files, while the old "-1" directory still contains: • Spam • Spam.msf • Junk • Junk.msf Thunderbird also displays a greyed-out, inaccessible Spam/Junk folder which cannot be selected, subscribed or removed. Question Is this a known issue in Thunderbird 152 related to IMAP Junk handling or old IMAP cache migration after changing an account from POP to IMAP? If not, which log or additional information would help identify the cause?

Whatever anyone does do NOT click on their links I believe it's a criminal organization trying to get to my account.

I know many of you may not be in my situation but I'm a bit job hungry cause financial hit really hard. I clicked on link without looking and the site pretended I needed to fill a job application out. So I did without looking to see who sent it. Yes, STUPID me.

For some reason I marked as junk and it's not going to where I need to and that is trash and immediately delete it. I try and see if I can setup a rule for that. But wondering if there a extension that might do a better job. I tried to unsubscribe but these guys keep hitting back. That one sign of hackers trying to penetrate.

So now I'm wondering is there anything else I might be over looking. One think I keep thinking about is why NOT put something a tool that will do similar to mxtoolbox. With AI out there it's going to get harder to keep these criminals out of our inboxes.

I have used Thunderbird for years and years and never had a problem. The last 2 weeks all of my outgoing emails have been going to everyone's SPAM folders. I have an AT&T email account and I use the AT&T Pop server settings, for the Outgoing Server I have the Comcast/Xfinity settings. I receive emails with no problems, it is my outgoing emails only. I don't know if it is a Comcast problem, an AT&T problem or Thunderbird problem. I have been on the phone with Xfinity for 2.5 hours and still having problems. Any suggestions.

Ich benutze Thundebird das erste mal und würde gerne wissen wo meine gelöschten Mails hin verschoben werden wenn wie auf dem angehängten Bild keine Einstellung vorgenommen wurde standardmäßig. Werden die Mails dann direkt gelöscht aus der kompletten Mail-Adresse oder bleiben diese irgendwo gespeichert?

Die Gelöschten Mails sind im Mail Konto nicht mehr auffindbar.

The sent message is deleted but I get Filter action Failed.

I am getting a lot of email dated a month of more in the future. How do I best filter these out as junk? I tried making a regular filter, but can't find a way to set it to "greater than today."
