Before this latest update i could go to the list of messages in my inbox, rigth click on a message and selecte print preview, i was using this feature to avoid opening emails that i was not sure if it was spam or something that i would be interested on. The option is no longer available with Thunderbird 91.1.1 (64-bit), what happen, why this feature was removed? Programming team running amok again? or QA team sleeping at the wheel? Please put back that option thanks

Hi, I just moved my thunderbird (latest version for Windows XP 32-bit) from my old Windows XP PC to new Windows 10 PRO PC (Thunderbird 91.2.0 64-bit).

I moved my profile folder to new PC. All my messages were moved with no problem but had to enter all passwords as if they didn't come with my moved profile.

I'm now having problem logging in to POP3 mail servers. Every time I logged in, if I checked the box "Use Password Manager to remember this password" It showed as

> Gmail: Nothing happened. No email downloaded from server. > Outlook: the bottom status bar showed "Connect to pop-mail.outloook.com..." and stayed like that forever. No email downloaded from server.

However, if I unchecked the "Use Password Manager to remember this password" box, Thunderbird can download all my emails. But I have to enter all passwords every time if I restart Thunderbird.

What I have done but problems still persist.

> Uninstall Thunderbird and reinstall > Delete key4.db, key3.db, logins.json, cert9.db from my profile folder and restart Thunderbird > Turn off 2-step verification in gmail account and use real password instead of app password

How can I correct this? Please help. Thank you.

I have an S/MIME certificate installed within a USB token. My Mozilla Firefox (User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:93.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/93.0 - OS: Windows_NT 10.0 19042) can see my certificate via OS Client Cert Module (path: C:\PROGRA~1\MOZILL~1\osclientcerts.dll). Strangely, Tunderbird did not have such "device" loaded, so I managed to load it via Options->Privacy & Security->Security Devices->Load and typing "OS Client Cert Module" and "C:\PROGRA~1\MOZILL~2\osclientcerts.dll" into "Module name" and "Module filename" fields, respectively. Now I can see my S/MIME certificate and choose it as the certificate for signing and encrypting my e-mails within the account with the e-mail address equal to the one trusted by the certificate.

Now come the problems. When I write an e-mail and try to send it digitally signed, I get the following message box:

--- Send Message Error Sending of the message failed. You specified that this message should be digitally signed, but the application either failed to find the signing certificate specified in your Mail & Newsgroup Account Settings, or the certificate has expired. ---

Well, the certificate has not expired. It is present whithin "Your Certificates" tab of "Certificate Manager" dialog; the entire authority chain is present within "Authorities" tab of the same dialog. I can't figure out what is missing. Other applications (e.g. LibreOffice, PDF-XChange Editor) find the same certificate without complaint and, when required, prompt a dialog asking for the PIN of the token. TB does ask for nothing. Perhaps it doesn't know that a password is required.

Below I give some details of mt TB version.

Any help will be very much appreciated.

This may be an inexperienced "user error" but I believe that a recent update has removed "options" from the Tools menu thereby removing menu access to Password Manager.

I finally accessed the Password manager from Tools/preferences/privacy/passwords/saved passwords

While Thunderbird help continues to reference "Password Manager", I believe it was renamed "Saved Logins"

Hi. Has anyone noticed that the password you can set within the program doesn't actually do anything to stop someone from reading the e-mails? I noticed this by just clicking "x" to exit the notification of having to enter the password. After pressing "x" 3 times, it didn't ask me again and I can freely look around all the e-mails I have stored.

Is that supposed to happen? I'd rather if the password stopped anyone from being unable to read the e-mails stored. Isn't that the idea of having a password on the program?

Hi, I have created gpg keys with thunderbird 94.0b1. I need to use those keys with GnuPG. How can I achive this? Keys are not stored in .gnupg directory nor visible by gpg. I tried to export private key backup and import it to gpg but the passphrase I need to provide when using keys is different than the one I'm prompt to provide during exporting back up. Does anyone know how to solve that problem? Or maybe I'm doing something wrong? Thanks from advance

This email is to warn you that I have had my email address penetrated and all my emails and folders deleted. I have since deleted Thunderbird with the following address from my system. I am running Bitdefender Total Security which did not pickup the intrusion. The email address that was hacked is " @xtra.co.nz ". I hope you have a web site that can be used to alert other users. I have no idea how this occurred. I opened Thunderbird in the normal manner to discover the empty shell.

Hello dear team,

apparently TB 78.14 had two parallel processes in installation before 92.1.0 ?

In version 78.14 - I had dark mode and then apparently there was graphics error (due to NVIDIA ?) - this way then a light grey TB was running in background while TB 78.14 with dark mode running in foreground.

Now with 92.1.0 this has gone away - but each time I open and close TB then this message appears in terminal (of Solus 4.3).

I have installed 92.1.0 after I deleted the folder "thunderbird" - but have taken over the settings in folder "./.." :

      1. !!! [Parent][RunMessage] Error: Channel closing: too late to send/recv, messages will be lost

I recently upgraded to Ubuntu 21.10 and lost access to my to google calendars. I was running the Google Calendar add on. This was asking me to log in to to my google account, this account has two factor authentication enabled. I have many attempts to try and complete the two step process. But all end in failure.

1. I enter my google username. 2. I enter my google password. 3. This brings up a greyed out screen with a rotating icon saying that two factor authentication is being attempted. This eventually times out with a generic error condition. 4. I then try one of the numerous alternative authentication methods. The ones a can use all end up at the same failure as follows. 5. The two step process completes and brings the permissions screen. 6. I select the permission I want - read write access. 7. This then fails with the error shown in the attached image.

I removed the add and tried the new method of adding calendars from the calendar screen. Thats failed in the same way.

All help gratefully received.

I have to click each message, one by one, to allow remote content. Case in point: I just insured my home with a new carrier and they've sent me a dozen emails from customersupport@whatever.com. There are two choices: allow remote content (works) and always allow remote content from customersupport@whatever.com (dead as a door nail). What gives? Are we that paranoid that my insurance company is going to slip me a Mickey on the fourth email???

I am receiving 100's of spam emails. They are all advertising different types of products but they all say they are from AT&T High Speed Internet. I have used the junk filter on them but it does not pick them up as junk. I have to do it manually each time. I have contacted my UVerse provider and they cannot assist because it is getting through Yahoo to Thunderbird. They say that it is a problem that I will have to have assistance from Thunderbird to resolve so that I can have this listed as junk and will not have to do this manually. I am at my wit's end. Please, please help me!
